2014 Land rover Range rover problems
The Land Rover Range Rover, generally shortened to Range Rover, is a 4x4 luxury SUV produced by Land Rover, a marque and sub-brand of Jaguar Land Rover. The Range Rover line was launched in 1970 by British Leyland and is now in its fifth generation.
Additional models have been launched under the Range Rover name, including the Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and Range Rover Velar.
History
The Rover Company (originator of the Land Rover marque) was experimenting with a larger model than the Land Rover Series in 1951, when the Rover P4-based two-wheel-drive "Road Rover" project was developed by Gordon Bashford. This was shelved in 1958 and the idea lay dormant until 1966, when engineers Spen King and Bashford set to work on a new model.
The first Range Rover prototype was built in 1967 with plate number SYE 157F. The design of the Range Rover was finalised in 1969. Twenty-six Velar-badged engineering development vehicles were built between 1969 and 1970 and were road registered with the number plates YVB151H through to YVB177H.
Though being chassis no. 3, YVB 153H is believed to have been the first off the production line as a vehicle in that colour was urgently required for marketing. (The Range Rover with chassis no. 1 was a green model with the registration "YVB 151H", and is now on exhibition at Huddersfield Land Rover Centre, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire). The Velar name was derived from the Italian "velare" meaning to veil or to cover. Range Rover development engineer Geof Miller used the name as a decoy for registering pre-production Range Rovers. The Velar company was registered in London and produced 40 pre-production vehicles that were built between 1967 and 1970.
The Range Rover was launched in 1970. In the early 1970s, the Musée du Louvre in Paris exhibited a Range Rover as an "exemplary work of industrial design".
In 1971, ex-Cream drummer Ginger Baker used the unproven Range Rover to drive from Algeria to Lagos, Nigeria, to set up a recording studio and jam with Fela Kuti. Predating the Paris-Dakar rally the subsequent documentary is replete with such terrain, documenting the vehicle's endurance.
In 1972, the British Trans-Americas Expedition became the first vehicle-based expedition to traverse the Americas from north to south, including traversing the roadless Darién Gap. The specially modified Range Rovers used for this expedition are now on display in the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust collection at Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Range Rover sub-brands have been launched. In 2004, Land Rover debuted the Range Rover Sport, based on the Land Rover Discovery platform. Later models received the latest Range Rover platform. In 2011 came the Range Rover Evoque, and in 2017 the Range Rover Velar (re-using the name of the very first, pre-production Range Rovers).

Common 2014 Land rover Range rover problems
The Land Rover Range Rover 2014 is known for several common problems, primarily related to electrical malfunctions, engine issues, and suspension problems. These issues have been reported by a significant number of owners, leading to concerns about the car's reliability.
Electrical malfunctions are a significant concern for Range Rover owners. The 2014 model has experienced issues with the remote key's rubber covering peeling off, as well as a small plastic tab on the tow-hitch cover snapping during removal. These problems, while not critical to the vehicle's operation, can be frustrating for owners and may require replacement parts.
Engine issues are another area where the Range Rover 2014 has faced criticism. While no specific engine malfunctions are mentioned in the search results, the brand's overall reliability is a concern. Land Rover, as a brand, ranks low in reliability, with a poor 28th place out of 32 manufacturers. This ranking suggests that engine issues may be more prevalent in Land Rover vehicles, including the Range Rover 2014.
Suspension problems are also common in the Range Rover 2014. The air suspension system, in particular, has been problematic, with leaks and failures reported by owners. These issues can lead to reduced ride quality and potential safety concerns, as the vehicle's height and handling may be affected.
In addition to these common problems, the Range Rover 2014 has also experienced recalls related to front direction indicator lamp failure, servo vacuum hose chafing, door latching, fan control module short circuits, crank position sensor failures, and suspension link arm fixings. These recalls highlight the need for careful inspection and maintenance of these vehicles to ensure their safe and reliable operation.
When considering a used Land Rover Range Rover 2014, potential buyers should be aware of these common problems and thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any signs of electrical, engine, or suspension issues. Regular maintenance and servicing, as well as extended warranties when available, can help mitigate these concerns and ensure a more reliable ownership experience.
What is the most common problem with Range Rovers?
And the Range Rover is no exception. Three in older models faulty fuel sending units are a fairly common report this leads to inaccurate fuel gauge readings which are fairly stressful.
What Land Rover has the least problems?
Which Land Rover model requires the least maintenance? While the results of What Car's 2021 Reliability Survey found that the most reliable luxury SUV was the Range Rover Velar (2017-present), this doesn't mean that it requires less maintenance than any other Range Rover model.
Which model Range Rover is the most reliable?
Range Rover Velar reliability
Range Rover Velar reliability
The Range Rover Velar is ideal if you think you'll spend most of your time on the roads rather than heading off track and getting muddy. This is the one to pick if you enjoy Range Rover styling but don't need quite as much practicality.
Is Range Rover expensive to maintain?
Although that's true for some, you may be surprised to learn that Range Rovers are inexpensive to maintain compared to other luxury makes — including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Cadillac. Even when compared to non-luxury brands, the yearly annual Range Rover maintenance cost is solidly average.

- Components: TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
- Summary: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires subsequently lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure.
- Consequence: If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
- Consequence: Without a warning that a front turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, May 27, 2014. Land Rover's number for this recall is P042.

- Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will modify the area around the connector to prevent it from becoming disconnected, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Customers may contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P037.

When I'm driving, I feel a bit strange, like I'm swinging in a crib. The car doesn't feel as solid as the previous model. Unfortunately, after only a week of driving, I was hit from behind by a Honda and my car immediately lost control, sliding from the right lane to the left and changing direction multiple times on the highway. It was a very scary and unsafe experience. As a result of the crash, both the back and front bumpers were damaged. I'm not sure why being hit from behind caused me to cross the highway like a billiard ball. It's frustrating that there's only one certified body shop in town that can repair my car, and on top of that, I have to wait four weeks for the parts to be delivered.

In 2020, Rover has performed well. Although there are some issues such as the back gate not consistently lowering down all the way, and the battery warning not differentiating between primary or secondary battery trouble, there are also some positives such as better height control and adjustment than the MB 550GL. The Rover also has more truck-like handling than the MB 550GL. While the interior details and quality are not as nicely done as the 2014 550GL, the Rover has lower road noise than the 2014 MB 550GL and is almost as quiet as the VW-made Bentley Continental Flying Spur W12. Although the Rover Eco setting can be somewhat annoying, it does improve gas savings. Overall, the Rover is a great SUV and is priced nearly the same (a few thousand dollars less) as my 2014 MB 550GL.

Range Rover builds a magnificent vehicle, but they could improve their technology and navigation. BMW, Mercedes, and Audi have impressive navigation and technology features that outshine Range Rover. The navigation in the new Range Rover could use some work, especially considering the price of the vehicle. We may consider purchasing a portable navigation unit for the car.

I'm so glad to hear that you love these cars! The ride is as smooth as a Rolls Royce and the high ceilings and boxy cream colored leather interior make it visually appealing and pleasing for rides. Although the design has changed, I can understand why you love the look of that year. It's a beautiful Santorini black color.
