2014 Land rover Range rover evoque problems

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, also known as the Range Rover Evoque, is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV developed and produced by Jaguar Land Rover under their Land Rover marque. The original Evoque was a development of the Land Rover LRX concept vehicle, which was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008. The first generation Evoque was produced from July 2011 until 2018 in three and five-door versions, with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive. The second generation of the car went into production in 2018.
First generation (L538; 2011)
Development
The size of the LRX concept vehicle complemented a wide array of efficiency-improving technologies in the form of Land Rover's e_Terrain technologies. These included biofuel compatibility, lightweight construction materials, and technologies such as the removable carbon composite roof panels, regenerative brakes, a stop-start system, along with the ERAD (electric rear axle drive) parallel hybrid powertrain system.
ERAD system
The ERAD system could propel the LRX to speeds up to 20 mph (32 km/h) before the engine was started by an integrated starter generator as part of the stop-start system. ERAD was designed to reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 20% under the NEDC test cycle and was expected to offer another 10% reduction in extra-urban driving situations while also optimizing the off-road ability of the vehicle. Land Rover aimed to achieve 120 g/km CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 60 mpg‑imp (4.7 L/100 km; 50 mpg‑US) on the European combined cycle with an efficient 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine based on PSA DW12. The engine would become the only four-cylinder vehicle in the Range Rover lineup.

Purchased Aug. 2013. The car is still under warranty, so I can't speak to maintenance costs, but I have to say it's been an absolute joy to drive! It's comfortable, smooth, and peppy, and even though the trunk space is a bit small, you can always put the back seats down. Plus, the gas mileage is pretty good too - I'm getting around 26-28 MPG on the highway and about 19 locally.

Hey there! It's always important to be cautious when reading reviews. If you're interested in a car, make sure to ask plenty of questions, take it for a test drive, and even talk to current owners. By the way, I wanted to share that I've been the proud owner of my car for a year now and I absolutely love it! It's comfortable, reliable, and the perfect compact size for me. Plus, the styling is beautiful. I do want to mention a couple of minor things though. Firstly, the turbo can be a bit slow to kick in, so just be aware of that when pulling out into traffic. However, once it does kick in, it's like a rocket car! Secondly, there can be a slight exhaust smell in the cabin for the first 2-5 minutes upon start up. I contacted the service department and they said that other owners have reported the same issue. They suggested pushing the Man button on the circulation option, which has worked for me. Overall, I still absolutely love my car!

We have consistently experienced issues with parts availability.

We've had our Evoque for a year now and my wife absolutely loves it. It's such a fun car to drive and we haven't had any issues with it. We're already planning on purchasing another one in two years, unless something drastic changes. It's quick, maneuverable, and has plenty of power and zip.

Hi there! I recently posted a review of my Evoque at 65K, expressing my love for the vehicle and how I would be a Range Rover driver for life. However, at 66K miles, I encountered some issues with the gear that controls many functions of the vehicle. Although it was a bit frustrating, I was willing to overlook it, along with some other minor issues I had experienced in the past. Unfortunately, at 70K miles, I encountered a more serious issue with the engine that required a costly repair. Despite my love for the vehicle, I have heard similar stories from others and have come to the conclusion that leasing may be a better option than buying. It's such a shame, but I wanted to share my experience with others. Thanks for listening!

I recently purchased a brand new Range Rover Evoque from this dealership, but unfortunately, the vehicle had a faulty and unsafe transmission. Despite the dealership replacing the transmission with less than 10,000 miles on the vehicle, the problem persisted and even worsened after the vehicle was returned to me on a couple of occasions. While under warranty, the dealership informed me that there was nothing else they could do to repair the vehicle, which was very disappointing. I reached out to the CEO, Ralf Speth, but unfortunately, I did not receive a response. Although this manufacturer had a rating of ‘No Rating’ by the Better Business Bureau, their rating has since been changed to ‘B-‘. While things may go wrong with a vehicle, it is important to receive the expected treatment that is comparable to the situation. If you would like to follow my experience, you can check out my blog at: https://myvehicleexperience.com. However, this dealership does not participate in the Consumer Report Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey. In a later blog post, I will cover their response as to why they do not participate. Purchasing a car is one of the biggest decisions you will make in your lifetime, so it's important to do your research. After experiencing a problem with my vehicle, I contacted the dealership for assistance. Although it was not their normal protocol, I was told to contact the corporate office. Despite my persistence, the corporate office only offered a proposed agreement that did not address the issues they promised to resolve. Unfortunately, I am still in possession of a defective vehicle that is still under warranty. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from this dealership or company. It's not just the defective vehicle, but also the unpleasant experience of dealing with the process to resolve the issue. Don't take any chances, use your power of choice and do your research to support your decision. Recently, I received a notification from this company about a widespread transmission issue that occurred after the warranty expired. If you would like to view the notification, I have posted it at www.myvehicleexperience.com. The company is offering three different options to the owners, but there is a catch - you have to sign the notification and return it.And with the customer's signature in tow, the company is relieved of any liability. However, I understand your frustration with this approach. It seems as though the company is not taking responsibility for the transmission problem, which is concerning. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I chose the Dynamic model for its sporty appearance, but I am having trouble adjusting to the transmission programming. When maintaining a speed of around 30 mph in traffic and giving it a little gas, the car drops a gear, causing the rpm's to jump to 3000 and the turbo to kick in. This makes for a jerky ride, which is not ideal for a vehicle that costs over $60k. Additionally, my tail lights filled with condensation after the first car wash, and I have been waiting for the new and improved ones since then. This has affected the overall look of quality and prestige. However, I am hopeful that these issues will be resolved soon.

Owning my 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has been quite a challenging experience. In the almost 3 years that I've had the car, I've had to visit the dealership 17 times for various faults and repairs. Despite this, I'm grateful that the dealership has been understanding and helpful throughout the process. I'm hoping that after the warranty expires, I can find a more reliable vehicle. However, I'm still enjoying the car and the comfort it provides. Today, I'm experiencing an issue with the infotainment console, but I'm confident that the dealership will be able to help me resolve it. Overall, while I've had some difficulties with the car, I'm still grateful for the experience and the support I've received from the dealership.

I purchased a car from Patrick Jaguar Naperville on January 2nd. Unfortunately, the car was towed just one week later due to warning lights being on, the car not shifting gears, and power steering not working. It took a week to repair and replace the module. I expressed my concerns to Land Rover and received $500 in Land Rover certificates. Today, I had a scheduled service appointment because neither smart key worked, but when I tried to start the car, it would not start. The car had to be towed again. I called Land Rover prior to the appointment and explained that I had received a one-time certificate before and that the car was still under warranty, but they did not offer any help. Unfortunately, this has been the worst service I have experienced from a luxury car. I regret my purchase and will not buy from them again. My husband was considering a Jaguar, but after this experience, he has changed his mind.
