Land rover Range rover evoque problems
The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, also known as the Range Rover Evoque, is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV developed and produced by Jaguar Land Rover under their Land Rover marque. The original Evoque was a development of the Land Rover LRX concept vehicle, which was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in January 2008. The first generation Evoque was produced from July 2011 until 2018 in three and five-door versions, with both two-wheel and four-wheel drive. The second generation of the car went into production in 2018.
First generation (L538; 2011)
Development
The size of the LRX concept vehicle complemented a wide array of efficiency-improving technologies in the form of Land Rover's e_Terrain technologies. These included biofuel compatibility, lightweight construction materials, and technologies such as the removable carbon composite roof panels, regenerative brakes, a stop-start system, along with the ERAD (electric rear axle drive) parallel hybrid powertrain system.
ERAD system
The ERAD system could propel the LRX to speeds up to 20 mph (32 km/h) before the engine was started by an integrated starter generator as part of the stop-start system. ERAD was designed to reduce CO2 emissions by an average of 20% under the NEDC test cycle and was expected to offer another 10% reduction in extra-urban driving situations while also optimizing the off-road ability of the vehicle. Land Rover aimed to achieve 120 g/km CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 60 mpg‑imp (4.7 L/100 km; 50 mpg‑US) on the European combined cycle with an efficient 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine based on PSA DW12. The engine would become the only four-cylinder vehicle in the Range Rover lineup.

- Summary: The the top of the windshield leaks. The windshield has actually pulled away from the body of the car and needs to be completely resealed. This is a well known and recall problem for 2015 to 2018 Land Rover Evokes. My Evoke is a 2019 thus dose not fall under the recall, yet its the same issue. There are many other people with this complaint which can be seen with a quick Google search on this issue. My dealership has straight out told me that my year is not in the recall, although same problem, its not a recall item because my year is not included in the recall. I am asking that you expand the current recall for leaking windshields form 2015 to 2022 (i say 2022 because on line, there seems to be an on going issue until 2022. Not to mention, this issue drastically diminishes the safety integrity of the vehicle roll over safety / security / strength. Thanks you.

- Summary: . I leased the vehicle from the Suburban of Troy (Jaguar Troy-Land Rover Troy) at 1815 Maplelawn Troy, MI 48084 through Ally Financial on 6/30/22. On 7/29/22 and 8/15/22, I brought the vehicle into the Suburban Collection’s Service Center. I stated that when I remote started the vehicle from the app, I would start driving and a “Gearbox Fault” message would turn on for a day or so and would shut off. I provided the Service Advisor with my login credentials to troubleshoot the concern with my vehicle. Unfortunately, no resolution was made with regards to my vehicle and it was returned to me. This continued to occur. On 1/9/23 (with just over 6,500 miles), I again brought my vehicle into the service center. I started my vehicle using the mobile app while the auto start/stop function was enabled and drove the vehicle for a number of miles and upon entering a roundabout, the vehicle shifted itself into neutral during rush hour traffic. I could not switch out of neutral and had to restart the vehicle in the middle of rush hour and I could have been rear ended. This situation was horrifying. I reached out to four individuals via JLR corporate emails on 3/7/23, as I had not received any information from my service advisor regarding my vehicle. During that time, I was driving a loaner vehicle that did not have the same features and I was unable to start the vehicle remotely during that time. I received correspondence from an Executive Liaison, Jean Meyer on 3/8/23 after receiving my vehicle the day prior. It had been in the dealership’s possession at that time for 66 days and in total, my vehicle had been in their possession for 78 days. During that time, I was informed that the Service Advisor that I had worked with was eliminated because of his handling of my case. I was told that the Shop Foreman was working on my vehicle and that it had been escalated to an engineer that manufactures the transmission, but no one was able to find a resolution for my car switching into n

- Summary: While driving on the interstate I released the cruise and slowed down when coming up on an 18 wheeler. When it was clear I began to change lanes to the left and tried to accelerate but the engine would not respond. About 5 or 6 seconds later it finally responded. This has happened about a dozen times at random. It has been in the dealers shop 6 times for this issue. The usually update the software and call it good but it keeps on happening. I had it in the shop this past January 2021 and a tech from Range Rover worked on it for about 1 1/2 weeks upgrading the software and said it was fixed. It happened 2 times since then so back to the shop I went. They returned the car on the 4th day stating they could not make the car shut down and there were no codes. I don’t know about you but it’s very stressful when you are driving in heavy traffic on Interstate 4 near Orlando and your car shuts done for a few seconds. I read on the internet where other people are having similar issues. I think something needs to be done before there is a tragic accident because Range Rover acts like they don’t know what everyone is talking about.

Vehicle year: 2016
In February 2015, I leased a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (Pure plus with options). Although it had some software issues during the first month, the dealership was very accommodating and resolved the issue promptly. After that, I never had any issues with the Evoque. While I found that a bigger engine would have been better, it still handled the road very well and provided a smooth ride. Additionally, it had great gas mileage, especially on long drives. The entertainment system was also fantastic! However, the most important thing I want to share is that two weeks ago, the truck was involved in a rollover accident and was considered a total loss. Fortunately, both myself and the driver only sustained minor injuries (cuts and scratches) and walked away from the scene. This experience has only reinforced my belief that this is a very safe vehicle. The safety features in the truck are not to be taken for granted, as they truly work!

I recently purchased my 2016 Range Rover Evoque Dynamic HSE and although it's still early days, I can't provide a solid review just yet. However, I spent several months researching, test driving, and gathering information about Land Rover vehicles. As someone who is very particular about purchasing vehicles, I have experienced both good and bad vehicles in my 25+ years of driving. As a busy mother of three with a demanding professional career, I look for vehicles that are reliable, dependable, and will last me at least 10 years without any repair headaches. So far, I am happy with my Range Rover Evoque and I hope it will continue to meet my high expectations for years to come. If you're considering purchasing a Land Rover vehicle in the future, it's important to keep in mind that extended warranties can be quite expensive. Land Rover vehicles are known to be costly to maintain and repair, so if you're looking to purchase an extended warranty for a pre-owned vehicle, don't be surprised by the price tag of $5K+ depending on the year, make, model, current mileage, and projected yearly mileage. It's always wise to factor in this expense beforehand so you're not left with your mouth hanging open in shock.

Bought the 2 door with 2200 miles. I'm happy to report that I haven't had any issues or complaints. It drives great, feels great, and looks great. I recently brought it in for an oil change and they also did a software upgrade. I'll keep you posted if anything changes!

I have had my RR Evoque for over a month now, and it always catches people's attention. It's a refreshing change from the typical BMW's, Lexus, and Infinity round SUV's out there. It's a classy and fun vehicle to drive, and it handles great in the snow. With 26mpg combined, it makes going to work a pleasure.

Vehicle year: 2017
I was considering waiting for a 2018 Q5 or going back to a BMW X3 (which I had in 2011 and loved) or an Evoque. Ultimately, I decided that the X3 needed a refreshed look. The Evoque appealed to me because I wanted a 4x4 to drive on the beach. Although I was a little skeptical about the mixed reviews I read, I still wanted it. So, I bought a 2016 with 12k on it that had been part of the dealer's loaner fleet. I didn't want to pay full price for a new one in case I ended up not liking it. I've had it for three weeks now and I am really enjoying it. Since I don't have any kids and it's usually just me in the car, the back seat being tight is not a big issue. After having the BMW X3 with the tech package, I don't know that any car's navigation/entertainment will impress me. The way it operated with the joystick was seamless and intuitive. The cockpit in the Evoque is uncluttered and easy to figure out. Although the response on the screen could be a little faster, it works fine. The navigation sometimes gets you very close to your destination but not quite there and says I initially wanted almond interior, but I am really loving this one! Although the gas mileage is poor, the seats are super comfortable. The remote start feature from my iPhone is really cool, even though it takes a little longer than using a key fob. The hatchback doesn't have a ton of room, but the interior lining has a bump out to accommodate golf clubs. If you carry two sets of clubs, you may have to put part of the back seat down. The engine shifts a little differently than I'm used to, but it's not bothersome. The car has a high waistline, which is why the cameras come in handy. I'm really enjoying the car, especially because it has a unique look. Everything is starting to look the same. I test drove the Mercedes GLC, Acura RDX, Lincoln MKC, and Audi Q5. Although I loved the Q5 because it was very fun to drive, I wanted to get the Evoque out of my system.

This car has had some issues with its electrical system and navigation, and has unfortunately caused some inconvenience. However, the customer service experience has not been ideal either. It can take some time to get an appointment and the wait times can be long. It's important to note that there have been some positive experiences with the car as well. We encourage potential buyers to do their research and make an informed decision based on their needs and preferences.

The engine start and off option can be frustrating as it cannot be turned off due to legal requirements. Additionally, the car can be quite jumpy, especially on hills and slanted streets. After driving for 30 minutes, the suspension can make noise that sounds like rocks underneath the car's tires. Despite contacting the dealer and having them drive the car for 300 miles, they were unable to detect any noise. However, I have captured the noise on camera. Lastly, the audio system leaves much to be desired.

Let me start by saying how much I love this car! It's super stylish and comfortable, and the design is just wonderful. The vehicle is full of thoughtful additions, and as a daily driver, it really shines. The electronics are workable, but could be improved. Off-road, this car is amazing, and even though it doesn't have a low transfer case, it's extremely capable. However, clearance can be an issue, especially when the car is loaded up with camping equipment. The 4wd system is easy to use and very effective. We've driven it on all kinds of terrain, from mud-ruts to snow, and it's been unbelievable. Now, onto the cons. The cost of ownership is a bit of a letdown, and I suspect this is true for the entire Land Rover/Range Rover range. Unless you're a millionaire with tons of time or someone to look after your cars, you're going to get frustrated. The car always seems to need to go into the shop for something, and getting it serviced is a nightmare. On one occasion, I couldn't get a service appointment for nearly 2 months, and each service always took way too long. Despite these issues, I still love this car and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable ride. Why not book it in for work when you can fulfill the request in a timely manner? Additionally, the cost can be quite high. If you can average out of service costs for less than $1,000, you are lucky! However, my experience is not unique. I was talking to another owner in particular who really started to make me think about changing. He said, 'When you own a Land Rover/Range Rover, you need to buy two - one for the repair shop while you drive the other and vice versa.'

My 2020 Evoque has an engine noise that the dealership has attempted to fix three times without success. Despite this official lemon, corporate has not responded. Additionally, the start-stop issues, as mentioned by other reviewers, are aggravating. The Bluetooth disconnects every time the car is turned back on, requiring manual reconnection. Furthermore, the steer assist jerks me out of merging into a lane I intend to merge into, even when I use my turn signal as advised by the dealer. Rest assured, I have informed the dealer of this dangerous issue.

Hey there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with this vehicle. I purchased it in December 2015 with around 35k miles, but unfortunately, I wasn't aware that several repairs had already been made. In June 2015, the vehicle required major engine work, and it even stalled while parked, leaving me stranded out of state for 3 days. Then, less than a couple of weeks later, it stalled with zero electric while I was driving. It's been in repair at the dealer for over a week and a half now. Just wanted to give you a heads up!
