Land Rover aimed to achieve 120 g/km CO2 emissions and fuel economy of 60 mpg‑imp (4.7 L/100 km; 50 mpg‑US) on the European combined cycle with an efficient 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine based on PSA DW12. The engine would become the only four-cylinder vehicle in the Range Rover lineup.

I was considering purchasing a BMW X3 or 5, an Audi G3 or 5, or possibly a Tiguan. However, a friend recommended that I take a look at the new Evoque. After taking it for a test drive, I was sold. The interior fit and finish are great, and the two touch screens are a fantastic feature. You have complete control of vehicle dynamics, including start-stop in Eco mode. If you don't want it, you can turn it off. The Evoque also has a nifty garage door opener in the rearview mirror, along with a new killer feature of simply clicking the knob on the mirror to get real-time video from behind the car at all times! I had a laugh when the LR dealer told me that they had been installing the self-parking feature for about 5 years now in various models, while the BMW guy claimed that their self-parking feature was new and cutting edge. This was one of the reasons why I chose the Evoque. The engine and transmission are very smooth and have lots of pep, making it a real joy to drive. This vehicle is very adept at handling both on the road and in town. It feels glued to the road and the brakes are phenomenal. You can easily turn the stop/start mode on or off with a simple button on the dash, similar to other Range Rovers. The Apple Car Play works nicely and the car can be set up as a WiFi hotspot. When using navigation for directions, the radio or media automatically goes quiet while Navigation voice instructions are being given, then returns. There are a lot of features on this vehicle, so it may take some time to program and understand how to use them. However, the double touch screen dash is awesome. You can have the Nav system up and running on one screen and on the other it will show the album cover of the song playing, or cabin comfort controls. One nice touch is the full-size spare in our model, which is much better than the can of flat fix in most other vehicles. The rear camera in the rearview mirror feature is incredible for rearward viewing when driving and works very well. The biggest drawback so far is learning all the features of the HSE model and how to use them. Most of the programming is very intuitive, but some is not. The interior is a clone of the higher bracket RR Velar. So far, this car has been a real joy to drive, with plenty of zip and acceptable gas usage. It has been trouble-free since we took delivery, with only minor routine maintenance like changing oil, etc.

This is definitely the perfect vehicle for city dwellers! It's compact yet spacious, smooth yet aggressive. This compact SUV is extremely light on its feet... You would never know that it actually weighed in at over 4k lbs.

The car is certainly beautiful, but unfortunately we have experienced a couple of major recalls within the past year. The first recall was due to the car shutting down unexpectedly while driving, which was quite concerning. The second recall was for a rattling noise under the hood. Additionally, we have encountered a new issue where there is no audio for GPS apps like Waze, Google, or Apple. We have been informed by corporate that this is a known issue for the past few months, and they are still working on a fix. Despite these challenges, we remain hopeful that a solution will be found soon.

Although the car looks great, it has some serious safety issues. The auto start stop ECO mode is particularly unsafe. The engine goes off, making it difficult to enter traffic, and when it does respond, the car lunges forward unexpectedly. I've been in numerous situations due to the hilly terrain of Western Pennsylvania, where I've been in the car with my children, waiting to merge into traffic, and the car doesn't respond. This can be a driving hazard as oncoming cars are too close. The engine hesitation even occurs when I manually turn off the ECO mode, which I have to do every time I start the car. I'm very disappointed with this vehicle. I've reached out to Land Rover, but unfortunately, the customer service has been less than satisfactory, and no resolution has been met.

I recently purchased a 2020 plate Land Rover Dynamic S, but unfortunately, I have been experiencing ongoing issues with my car such as lack of power, loud engine noise, and dashboard malfunctions. Despite my disappointment with the level of service from LR, they have been claiming that there isn't a problem with my car. My car has also had issues with sticking in gear and the engine not starting for 40 minutes, which was a frustrating experience. This is my third car from Land Rover, and unfortunately, all of them have had technical issues that never seem to end. I have had to take my car in for repairs around 10 times or more since 2020. Although I won't be purchasing any more cars from LR, I must say that the satnav sends you in a circle twice. The car's issues have been affecting my daily life, and it needs to go back to the dealership again. I'm feeling fed up and tired, and it's really sad that the car's performance is shabby at times, making it feel like I'm driving an old car. LR needs to address the problems customers are having and be honest, especially since these are expensive cars that customers are purchasing from the main dealerships.

The 2020 Evoque is a great riding car, but unfortunately, the brakes can be quite touchy. Additionally, the automatic transmission downshifts can be a bit jarring and cause concern for potential whiplash. I recently spoke with the service center and they informed me that this is a normal occurrence. However, I have decided that this will be my last Evoque.
