- Summary: My 2014 Land Rover LR2 HSE STARTED SMELLING STRONGLY OF FUEL IN LATE APRIL,2022. I contacted LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON 5/2/22 about the problem. Cris Willis opened Case# 8000998446 to assist me. He stated it was a recall issue awaiting parts to become active. Then on 6/15 Cris W. contacted me again requesting I make appt. with my local LR dealer and now they could inspect car and replace any defective parts. On 6/21 I messaged Cris that I had made appt. For 6/23. Cris messaged me back that Ft. Myers LR dealer would resolve issue with no problem at all. When I brought my car into service manager. He had my car inspected and found fuel sending unit cover was leaking and needed to be replaced. Cost for fuel sending unit cover and gasket with labor and taxes,etc. would be $1970.09. He said my car had left two fuel puddles in service area and was a dangerous safety issue but my VIN # was not in recall and repairs would be at my expense.I declined repair and immediately called LR North America customer relations speaking with Cris W. and his supervisor, Jennifer. Both told me they would try to work with managers at Ft. Myers and Naples LR dealers to encourage them to help me by covering all or part of the repair cost. I never heard back from them or anyone at LR Customer Relations. My daughter did file a complaint with NHTSA on 6/23 for my car but I would like to file my own complaint because of the serious safety issue which LR fails to address in any substantive or helpful way. I have taken my car to a third party auto service facility because I was told it was too dangerous to drive by by LR Customer Relations and their Ft. Myers LR service manager. Please accept this complaint so that some won’t be injured or killed by this serious safety issue which is similar / related to NHTSA Recall#N623. Thank you for assisting in protecting other LR owners, especially those of older models who may be jeopardy because of these defective parts.

A component within the Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may fail, resulting in the front seat passenger air bag being totally or partially disabled.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, if the air bag is disabled, the air bag may not deploy or may not deploy properly, increasing the risk of injury to the front seat passenger.
- Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Restraint Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 30, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P046.

I've had it for 2 months and I absolutely love this SUV! It was actually a loaner car with only 1200 miles on it, so I got it for a great price - just under $26K. The size is perfect and the ride is so smooth and quiet. While the mileage isn't quite what I was hoping for - about 15 local and close to 25 on the highway - it's still better than my Tahoe and not too far off from my Jetta.

The car drives great and has good gas mileage for an AWD. The stereo is also fantastic. However, I had some difficulty with parts availability and the cost of accessories. Additionally, I experienced a fuel pump leak only two months after purchasing the car. While the resale value was not as high as I had hoped, I still enjoyed driving it. Overall, I may not purchase another Landrover in the future, but I did appreciate some of its features.

I have a 2009 LR2. At first, I was hesitant to buy it because of my past experiences with LR/RR products. However, I have been extraordinarily impressed with this beast from the first time I drove it. My previous vehicles, a County and an older defender, had their own unique features and issues. The County was a gas-guzzling, plush leather, and loaded with features tank that had some mechanical and electrical issues. On the other hand, the older defender was a simple and reliable diesel that had virtually no issues, but lacked comfort amenities. The LR2, however, has plenty of power and is comfortable. I have a mid-level 1 and it suits my needs perfectly. While some people have mentioned that it struggles at higher speeds on the highway, I have not experienced any issues. Overall, I am very happy with my LR2.I really love the A post speakers, which is something that most other luxury brands don't have. The mileage is not so great, though. I think 16 mpg is somewhat hopeful, as mine only gets about 8 mpg. It's quite thirsty. Yes, you can run 89 in it, but the mileage and power are affected. It's a trade-off, I suppose? In my experience with all LR/RR products regarding off-road abilities, I can say that they are astounding. I have off-road and rock crawling experience, admittedly not with Rovers, but comparatively speaking, they never cease to amaze me. The newer ones are still off-roaders disguised as mall crawlers. With a standard factory setup and not very aggressive tires, my LR2 is an absolute billy goat. I recently drove it through 1Oh, and one last thing, I wanted to share some inside track knowledge with you. Did you know that many of these motors are actually made by Volvo? This could explain the reliability I have experienced with mine. However, it's important to note that regular maintenance is crucial. All of these motors burn oil, whether they are brand new or not. I guess it's a trade-off for more power with a smaller engine? I can't wait to buy another one, hopefully, I can find another 3.2 liter and not be 'stuck with' buying a 2.0.

I recently purchased a 2009 LR2 and was thoroughly impressed with its off-road capabilities. Additionally, I learned that these same characteristics translate to superior on-road performance and safety. The LR2 boasts power leather seats, two sunroofs, and a fantastic sound system, making for a truly enjoyable buying experience.

This car is an excellent value for your money. I have had no issues with it so far and it feels very well-built. It is also a joy to drive, with enough power to drive it sportily without feeling uncomfortable or unsafe. The Alpine Dolby Surround stereo system is fantastic and the Bluetooth connects right away to any of my phones (although it could be a bit louder). The navigation is terrific, although the updates can be a bit pricey. The brakes are great (especially with the 19

I purchased a 2009 LR2 HSE for $40K, but unfortunately experienced several issues. The leather began to crack within the first year, and the color of the front grill and side light covers faded and chipped due to sun exposure. Additionally, I encountered difficulties with the remote key locking system, and had to replace the rear differential and other components, which cost me approximately $10K. In comparison, my 21 year old Toyota 4Runner has not required such extensive repairs. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this car.

This car has been a disappointment since the day I bought it. Despite owning it for only three months, I have already spent over $5,000 on repairs. Even the Land Rover dealership couldn't fix the AC, but they did find $4,600 worth of other issues. When we tried to pick it up from the dealership, the car wouldn't start and they demanded another $800 for a new starter. It's clear that these cars are not worth the trouble and finding a mechanic willing to work on them is a challenge. In my opinion, the Land Rover brand is overrated and not worth the investment.
