2007 Jeep Liberty problems
The Jeep Liberty is a four door unibody compact SUV manufactured and marketed by Jeep for model years 2002–2012 over two generations, internally designated the KJ (2002-2007) and KK (2008-2012), respectively. Both generations were marketed globally, including as the Jeep Cherokee outside North America.
Introduced as a replacement for the Cherokee (XJ), the Liberty was priced between the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee and was the smallest of the 4-door Jeep SUVs until the car based 4-door Compass and Patriot arrived for 2007. Both generations were assembled at the Toledo North Assembly Plant in the United States and other countries including Egypt and Venezuela. The KK generation was manufactured alongside the closely related Dodge Nitro. Production ended in August 2012.
The Liberty was superseded by the Jeep Cherokee.

This SUV is truly excellent! Since we purchased it new in '07, it has only required lube, oil, and filter changes. With an average gas mileage of 20+ MPG around town, it's both efficient and reliable. Even in the hot climate of Tucson, AZ, the AC keeps us cool. We also love how easy it is to disengage the drive train and pull it behind our motorhome. The ride is smooth and quiet, and the leather seats are both comfortable and supportive. Additionally, I installed a K&N air intake system, which not only increased the power but also improved the MPG.

Congratulations on your new car! It's great to hear that you upgraded to a fully loaded 2007 Limited from your 2004 Limited. The incentives were great and it sounds like you got a great trade. The new car has improved gas mileage and greater creature comforts, including a 6-disc CD player, Sirius radio, leather seats, sun roof, and on the wheel radio controls. It's comfortable on both good and bad roads, and the handling is easy. The back seats now go down flat, which opens up the rear for more cargo, and there's plenty of space in the cargo area with the seats down. It's perfect for your 75 pound dog! Overall, it sounds like you made a great choice and I hope you enjoy your new car!

Hi there! I'm so glad to hear that your Jeep has been a reliable and versatile choice for you, especially as your first new car. It sounds like the 4wd system is a real standout feature, allowing you to shift on the fly at 50 mph! While the limited edition comes with all the bells and whistles, I understand that the premium sound system doesn't play mp3's and the roof rack system isn't quite up to par with the Cherokee. Additionally, the trunk is a bit small. However, it's great to hear that the Jeep handles well both on and off the road, through snow, mud, and cities. Plus, its compact size makes parking a breeze! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

I'm on my second Jeep Liberty now. Unfortunately, I've had to replace the window regulators six times in the three years that I've owned it. I did ask if they could all be replaced at once, but was told that it wasn't possible. Apparently, this is a known issue with the 2006 and 2007 Liberty models and a recall is expected soon. If you're going through the same thing, don't hesitate to call Chrysler. They're really listening to their customers. The dealerships, on the other hand, can only do so much to fix the problem. Thankfully, Chrysler is committed to making things right for their customers.

Hi there! I recently traded in my car with 165000 miles on it. It had some normal wear and tear, but overall it was a great car. The only issues I had were that the A/C never worked and the electric windows in the backseat stopped working. Additionally, it made a banging noise while driving past 50mph sometimes, but it never caused me to break down. I'm a bit disappointed that Jeep stopped making these cars because everyone I know who has had one absolutely loves them. I'm excited to see how my new Cherokee performs!

I bought this car brand new. Unfortunately, I've had to repair the window regulators (the parts that hold up the windows) five times since February 2007. It seems like many Jeep owners have had this issue with models from 2004 to 2007, and we're still waiting to see if the 2008 model has the same problem. I contacted Chrysler about it, but they weren't very helpful and didn't have any information about a permanent fix. It's been frustrating, and I feel like the car is a bit of a lemon. Additionally, I've noticed that the seats, which were supposed to be stain-resistant, aren't actually very good at repelling stains. I've spilled water on them before, and it left a brown stain. It's a bit of a joke, really.

Last January, I purchased my liberty with 36,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, since then, I have had some issues with the windows. The back left door window broke and shattered while I was driving in the winter. I have had to ratchet strap up all of my windows with the door panels off to prevent them from breaking again, as they have done every time they were replaced. Although I had high hopes for this SUV, it has been a bit of a nightmare. I would not recommend a Jeep to anyone. However, once I am able to trade this one in, I will be sure to look for a more reliable vehicle.

Overall, I must say that my Liberty has been a decent vehicle. It handles mountain snowstorms with ease, which is a huge plus. Like many others, I have had some issues with window regulators failing, but that's just a minor inconvenience. Unfortunately, I did have to replace the transmission after only 30k miles, but I'm still happy with my purchase. Of course, gas mileage isn't great, but that's to be expected with an SUV.

I'm glad to say that I haven't had any issues with the vehicle's mechanics. It has always taken me from Point A to Point B without any problems. Unlike some others, I haven't experienced any issues with the windows or electronics either. However, I have found the interior to be a bit of a problem. The seats can become uncomfortable after a while and they are prone to staining. Unfortunately, even a small amount of water can leave a nasty dark mark. Additionally, the gas mileage is not great. If I had known this beforehand, I might have chosen a Grand Cherokee instead. Overall, I have had some issues with the vehicle, but I'm still grateful for its reliability. I'm not sure if I would choose a Liberty again, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it out.

I have experienced multiple issues with my Chrysler products, including this Jeep Liberty. Despite bringing it in four times for a surging issue, Chrysler has been unable to provide a solution. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I have had transmission issues with Chrysler vehicles. It is disappointing that the company has not taken responsibility for these recurring problems. It is important for customers to be aware that Chrysler may not provide adequate support for their products in the event of issues.
