The Jeep Compass is a compact crossover SUV introduced for the 2007 model year, and is currently in its second generation. The first generation Compass and Patriot, its rebadged variant, were among Jeep's first crossover SUVs. The second-generation Compass debuted in September 2016 in Brazil and at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in November 2016, sharing a modified platform with the Renegade. Concept
Four years prior to the introduction of the production Jeep Compass, a concept vehicle with the same name had its world premiere in Detroit at the 2002 North American International Auto Show. It featured a two-door body, all-wheel drive and a 3.7-liter V6 engine.
The 3.7 L Power-Tech V6 engine from the Jeep Liberty was not available in the new Compass for 2007, though the production model Compass kept the concept car's styling cues and some of its features. The production model Compass also had four doors instead of the two doors on the concept car.

- Summary: This jeep compass had been a nightmare since we got it. The 4wheel drive/parking break is stuck ON. We gave had it replaced already, the repair lasted a week. And now it's stuck ON again. It's dangerous. It's costing us gas money, repair money, we have to keep replacing our brakes. We drive 50 minutes to and from work each way 5 days a week. Ontop of that. The headrest EXPLODED while we were on the highway. And is now just dangling off the seat. There are several other issues with this particular vehicle, like some days. It decides to turn on, others it doesn't. Evidently there is "nothing wrong with it" when we take it in. The key gets stuck on the ignition. We paid $11,000+ for this vehicle, and if you ask me, it's a lemon from the factory, and a safety problem.

- Summary: It’s been over a year since I’ve experienced stalling problems with my Jeep. At first, it would happen every once in a while. Now, it occurs everyday. There doesn’t appear to be a trigger as it happens while driving on an interstate, highway, while turning, etc. My Jeep will completely shut off and I will lose power steering. This has left me stranded in the middle of roads and on highways numerous times. The only thing I can do is put the car in park, turn the ignition off, put my safety hazards on, and pray no one hits me until it starts back up again. - Summary: My 2015 Jeep Compass will randomly stall while I am driving... randomly breaking while im driving. Then very frequently it will not let me drive past 20 miles per hour (sometimes slower than this). It randomly acts like this. It always feels like it does not want to accelerate... it will sometimes but most times doesn't. I have taken it to both a private service center and to the dealership multiple times. The dealership states each time they see nothing wrong with my car. No codes pop up. Also when this happens nothing pops up on my dashboard. Driving this car has put me at risk multiple times that I refuse to drive it now. The last time I drove it, it was going 10 mph and I was reversing into my driveway and the car randomly sped up while I was reversing then went back to going super slow. I know someone in the same area as me with a jeep and she said her jeep has been doing similar things and the dealerships don't know what's wrong with it. The car has a mind of its own and is unsafe to me the driver and the drivers around while it is on the road. Nothing was wrong with my car prior to this... this randomly started happening and never stopped months later.

- Summary: Passenger Headrest popped off (AHR deployed) while I was driving. After further inspection the plastic pieces inside that holds the whole headrest together broke off. I researched this issue on google and there has been a lot of complaints with this happening and even a class action lawsuit back in 2020. I tried to replace the part but the dealership wants over $500 for just the replacement even though this is a known defect with the headrests in 2010-2017 Jeep Compasses.

My father checked it and got a code of P0007 “Fuel Shutoff Valve Control Circuit High” I had 2 different mechanics look into it and both stated fuse box (while the last mechanic said he got the same code my dad did as well) I took it to the dealer recently and was told ABS module but currently on backorder.

The next morning while driving to the independent repair shop the car completely stopped on a Blvd in the middle of traffic.Luckily I was not rear ended by another vehicle.The car needed to be towed to the shop. Upon inspection by the tech was the rear drive axles had become corroded and needed to be replaced.As well as the backing plates.The vehicle is 8 years old and has 62,000 miles.

Most recently the belt under the hood has snapped this will be a second time, it has snapped with in a week of buying the new belt. Your review mentions sluggish acceleration and cramped back seat. However, I had a different experience. I purchased the Sport 4X2 with a 2.4 engine and 6-speed automatic, which you had not tested in your review as you had only tried the CVT. I personally found the 2.0 engine too weak, but the 2.4 is just right. Additionally, the 6-speed is a significant improvement over the CVT. The vehicle has plenty of room, both in the front and back, especially for a small vehicle. I compared the Escape, RAV4, Subaru, Mitsubishi, and others, including the Dart, Focus, and Avenger, and found this one to be the best fit for me.

Hello there! Firstly, I'd like to share my experience with the 2007 Chrysler Aspen with a V8 Hemy, which was an absolute beast, huge and super powerful. Now, I'm driving on a touristy island in SC, which has a lot of traffic circles and merge lanes. I must say, I'm really enjoying driving my new vehicle. It's agile, zippy and I have no issues accelerating enough to merge, get around and over fairly quickly. I've even driven off the island into the surrounding towns with no problem with speed or acceleration. As for the gas mileage, I can't say much yet as it's a new vehicle, but since my commute is only 6 miles, it's not really a huge concern for me. The interior is quite comfy for both my 5'1

Seriously, I love my 2015 Compass! I've owned it for 6 months and I haven't had any problems. Unlike my previous car, a 2016 Subaru Outback that burned oil and needed brakes, my Compass makes it through snow, wind, and all the other stuff Minnesota winters throw at you! It's a great value for the money. Go Jeep!

We purchased a 2015 Jeep Compass Latitude in January, which has 4 wheel drive, moon roof, and automatic with manual driving capability. Although we have experienced some issues, we have taken the necessary steps to address them. The navigation system malfunctioned during the second week of ownership, but it was promptly replaced and is now functioning properly. We also experienced a high-pitched noise when reversing, which we reported to the dealership and had checked five times. Despite being told that the noise was due to humidity and that all Jeep Compass models make this noise, we are still experiencing it. We are curious if anyone else has had similar issues.

Although I purchased the car used, I later discovered that it was a lease turn-in from New York. Despite the initial lack of knowledge, I have learned a lot from the experience. Unfortunately, the car has had a number of breakdowns, including requiring a whole new front end underneath at 78k miles. However, I am confident in my ability to handle these issues and have taken the necessary steps to ensure that the car is running smoothly. While there have been some challenges, I am committed to making the most of my investment and ensuring that the car is in top condition.

I really like the cloth seats, but I was wondering if it would be possible to have bench seats for these smaller vehicles with a little more cushion in them. Also, I was wondering if there is any way to simplify the cruise control. I have the 2.4 engine with 4wd, so if it's possible to set cruise control before going up hills, that would be great. Lastly, I was wondering if a 6 cylinder option was available. Thank you!

Hey there! I just wanted to share that I recently bought a Jeep Compass 4x4 with a 2.4L engine. During my test drives, I noticed that two of them had some vibrations while stopped at lights or in drive, but luckily I found one that didn't have that issue. However, after a week of driving it, I started experiencing the same problem. I took it to the service department, but they said everything was okay, which I found hard to believe. I'm really looking forward to paying off my 2015 Compass so I can move on to something more comfortable. Unfortunately, this vehicle has caused me a lot of discomfort and pain. It seems like nobody else feels the same way, so sometimes I feel like I'm going crazy.
