HE COULD NOT MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE HEAD NEEDED TO BE REMOVED. IN ADDITION, A COUPLE OF BENT VALVES NEEDED REPLACING AT THE COST OF $4,000. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WILL CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

THE CAR DASH BOARD LIGHTS DID NOT WORK AND THE RADIO'S LIGHT STAYED ON ALL THE TIME, AND IT DRAINED THE BATTERY THE CD PLAYER DID NOT WORK BECAUSE THEIR WAS NOT A CD PLAYER IN THE CAR AND WHEN I RETURNED THE CAR TO BE FIXED HE TOLD ME THAT HE WOULD ADD THE CD PLAYER AND FIX THE CAR AND ALL OF THE NECESSARY THINGS THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO THE CAR. I WENT BACK TO CHECK ON MY CAR, BECAUSE HE HAD NOT CALLED ME AND HE HAD SOLD MY CAR TO SOMEBODY ELSE. I TOLD HIM THAT I WANTED MY MONEY BACK AND HE REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME FOR MY MONEY AND TOLD ME THAT HE COULD GIVE ME TWO CARS TO MAKE UP FOR MY LOST. I GOT A CALL BACK AND HE SAID IT WAS THE REAR DRIVE SHAFTERS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED OK GOOD NOT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDING TO BE REPLACED........HOW MUCH? I ASKED, ABOUT $3200....FOR ABOUT $2000 MORE I CAN GET A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION, RIGHT? DUE TO INCORRECT DESIGN, THE QUICK CONNECTORS MAY NOT FULLY SEAT WITH THE TUBE INTERFACE, EVEN THOUGH THE PERSON MAKING THE CONNECTION MAY BELIEVE THAT THE QUICK CONNECTOR IS FULLY ATTACHED.

I bought this car in 2000 and have put close to 75000 miles on it since then. As a traveling salesperson, I drive a lot! Initially, I was hesitant to get a Jaguar due to its past track record in the 80s and early 90s. However, since they were bought out, I decided to lease one for a year. After just six months, I broke my lease and purchased one. In 2001, my wife also purchased one. With three kids, we love going on road trips, and this car always has enough room. Trust me, I have owned a BMW, Cadillac, and an Infiniti, but the Jaguar is by far the most reliable and beautiful. Buy one today!

You can count on this car to be reliable for a full 5 years. While it may not have the best gas mileage in town, averaging around 13 mpg on hilly streets, it does get an impressive 28 mpg on the highway.

I had an excellent experience with both this dealer and with the vehicle itself. This jag makes you want to drive everywhere! Even young people give me thumbs up when they walk past me at a stop light! I've had only a few minor problems with this pre-owned beauty, all covered under warranty, and there were no hassles about it at all. I would definitely buy another one.

I am confident in stating that my experience with the S-Type has been less than satisfactory. Despite my careful driving and maintenance, this car (like many S-Types) has presented a multitude of mechanical issues. Within a short period of time and with very low mileage, I encountered problems with the brakes, coolant system, gaskets, radiator, headlights, front brakes, cigarette lighter, O2 sensor, and catalyst. It is my belief that the quality of Jaguar vehicles was subpar, and unfortunately, Ford did not improve the situation.

Although the Jaguar S Type was a comfortable and beautiful car to drive, it unfortunately had some electrical and mechanical issues that made it difficult to maintain. The modular computer codes were not updated and the window regulators tended to break often. Additionally, the exhaust sensor readouts were impossible to fix. Despite these issues, the car was enjoyable to drive. However, due to the high cost of repairs, it may be worth considering investing in a different model that is more cost-effective in the long run.

Love the outside! It's a shame about the workmanship though. I know the interior doesn't hold much room, but that's not why I bought it. Unfortunately, just after the warranty finished, both front windows fell off their levers, costing an arm and a leg to fix. The moulding on the front of the car also came away.
