2023 Gmc Acadia problems
The GMC Acadia is a crossover SUV manufactured by General Motors for its GMC division. The first-generation GMC Acadia shared the GM Lambda platform with the Saturn Outlook, the Chevrolet Traverse, and the Buick Enclave. The Acadia went on sale in 2006 as a 2007 model in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The Acadia replaces three of the 7- or 8-seater vehicles on the Buick-Pontiac–GMC dealership network, the midsize GMC Safari van, the GMC Envoy, and the Pontiac Montana SV6 minivan for the domestic market. As of 2009, the Lambda vehicles have replaced the Buick Rainier, Buick Rendezvous, Buick Terraza, and the GMC Envoy XL and then subsequently the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the Isuzu Ascender. A Denali version of the Acadia debuted for 2011. In 2017, the second generation Acadia was repositioned as a mid-size crossover utility vehicle in order to compete within the growing midsize SUV market against the likes of the Ford Explorer, Edge, and the Jeep Grand Cherokee.
First generation (2007)
The Acadia represents GMC's entry-level truck-like CUV and is the first unibody vehicle from the marque. It is also GMC's first front-wheel drive passenger vehicle, and also the first such vehicle of any kind since the 1973-78 GMC Motorhome.
The Acadia has seating for eight and either front or all-wheel drive. With a 5,200 lb (2,359 kg) towing capacity, the Acadia slots between the GMC Terrain and the Yukon. The Acadia is the mid-priced Lambda model between the Chevrolet Traverse and Enclave.
In December 2006, all production and sales of the Acadia (and the Saturn Outlook) were temporarily stopped due to the engine mounts not having holes drilled to release accumulated water, as well as an issue with potentially faulty rivets in the load floor just forward of the vehicle's rear hatch. The assembly process was quickly adjusted, and dealership sales of the vehicles had resumed within days of the notice.
The first-generation Acadia was sold alongside its second-generation replacement as the Acadia Limited.

Common 2023 Gmc Acadia problems
The GMC Acadia, a well-rounded family SUV, is known for its comfortable cabin and diverse capabilities. However, it has some common problems that owners have reported.
One of the most common issues is a transmission fault code related to the clutch wave plate inside the transmission, which affects models with the six-speed automatic transmission.
Check engine lights are also common in the GMC Acadia, often pointing to a powertrain control module problem. The fix for this issue can be as simple as installing a software update, but in some cases, it may indicate a known camshaft problem that requires a technician to complete GM's prescribed fix.
A worn-out gas cap can also trigger a check engine light, requiring diagnostics. Replacing a gas cap is a relatively simple and affordable procedure.
The GMC Acadia is more expensive to maintain compared to other SUVs, with an average maintenance cost of about $734 per year, compared to the average of $573 for other SUVs.
Consumer Reports' reliability data indicates that the 2023 Acadia has about average reliability when compared to the average new car.

- VIN: 1GKKNMLS2PZ
- Components: STEERING,POWER TRAIN
- Summary: I purchased my 2023 Arcadia FFWD SLT a few months ago used with 11,000 miles. During the past few months I have noticed when reaching a speed of 45-60 mph the vehicle vibrates. I took the vehicle to the dealership on 10-10-24 and they said they could not find anything but they did not do an intensive problem search. I am concerned the problem may be related to a transmission recall dated 6/23. I did a search but no recalls came up my VIN but the vehicle has a major vibration when going 45-60 mph.

When I took the vehicle to the GMC dealership near my home in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the service advisor told me that the Check Engine light was on. The dealer has had the car since the date of this occurrence, on [XXX], giving me a smaller car as a loaner. My service advisor told me that he was able to get the car into Reverse. When I have called, he tells me they are trying to identify the problem. I see on the Internet that this model of vehicle has had multiple "transmission issues" and that there has been a Recall due to the transmission. I have not been alerted to a Recall. Yesterday, on Aug. 23, I received an Onstar Diagnostics Report saying there is a "diagnostics alert" requiring "immediate attention." I leased this vehicle in October 2023 from Todd Wenzel Buick GMC, where the vehicle now is located in the Service Department. I was told that there was too much transmission fluid which was the causing the issues I was experiencing. They reduced the fluid levels and sent me on my way. Unfortunately their assessment and solution did not remedy the problem. I intend to bring the vehicle in again, but based on past experience, I will be told nothing is wrong. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-29
- VIN: 1GKKNXLS1PZ
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Purchased Vehicle Oct.21 2022. In first week, vehicle left my wife stranded twice, and myself once. When error occurs, vehicle goes into limp home mode and cluster illuminates all lights, says serivce brakes, transmission, engine, fuel tank reads "E" (when is was just full), PRNDL buttons are flashing and will not allow park, does not respond to throttle inputs... only way to be not stranded as the vehicle will not restart is to disconnect battery or wait 15-20 minutes as the vehicle seems to incorrectly "heal" its errors and allow the engine to restart. I noticed this when the tow truck came to pick it up, and he "drove" it on to the flat bed. 45 Diagnostics showed up on the scan tool, all relating to CAN bus communication. My concerns are the following: 1. How can a 2023 vehicle with <400 miles leave some one stranded 3 times because of a CAN bus comm error? There is an electrical gremlin (likely from lack of quality control) causing to leave a customer to having to limp to the side of the highway. 2. Why is the error able to incorrectly "Heal" itself, ie. the fault reactions seem to debounce and allow engine to restart (as mentioned prior) after a certain amount of time. This only leads to potentially putting the customer back at risk as they just were. 3. GM dealer is yet to start troubleshooting, its been 2.5 weeks. Claim is that they "need a transmission guy to look at it since the codes causing the check engine light are transmission module". Although, the vehicle has approximately 45 active codes, relating to many different modules and all pointing to CAN bus error. The vehicle has an electrical issue, causing my wife to get stranded. first warning on cluster before being stranded : "Service: Transmission Now Unable to shift Soon. " What does this even mean???? this does not tell me, what the problem is, and what I should do about it. I am an experienced OBD Engineer from an auto OEM and this does not follow best practices. Please help.

Compared to my 2019 Acadia, I found many really nice updates. My 2013 Acadia SLT with the V/6 engine is very smooth, quiet, and comfortable to ride in. I love how user-friendly the navigation is, and the heads-up display is a great feature. I find the Acadia to be reasonable on fuel, and all the safety features are wonderful, especially the 360-degree camera which helps me avoid curb rash on the beautiful wheels. I don't have a single complaint about this vehicle.

Our 2nd Denali has some room for improvement in terms of cabin insulation and heating. The blower is quite loud but doesn't move much air, and the cabin cools off quickly. The seat heater is small and slow to warm up, only heating the middle of the seating area and lumbar. We have not noticed any difference in ride quality with adaptive ride control. Additionally, there is a fluttering plastic sound inside the driver's door at speed. Despite these issues, we remain loyal to GM.

After owning it for a year, we find the 22 Acadia Denali to be very lackluster. We traded my wife's 2019 Explorer for it, and we miss the Explorer almost daily. Towing is a challenge, even for a small golf cart and trailer. Simple features like remote start and door lock from the phone require a 150 a year OnStar package that is free for many other makes. It's just GM's way of staying in your pocket. We also noticed little squeaks all over the interior when driving. Overall, we find nothing special about this thing at all. It's about the smallest third-row SUV, and that's why she liked it, but we don't think it's worth it. It feels underpowered and lackluster.

I purchased a brand new 2023 car in March, but unfortunately, I have had to take it to the shop 7 times for various issues. The radio has been a recurring problem, and most recently, the car wouldn't shut off. I find this concerning as it poses a safety risk. The dealership claims it was a 'glitch,' but I disagree. The engine light also frequently turns on, and when I took it in, they blamed it on the weather. However, I live in Illinois, where it's cold and wet for half of the year. Despite having multiple issues, the car does have some positives, such as extra standard safety features and a 2.0 turbo that provides good acceleration and decent gas mileage compared to my previous Traverse. If you're in the market for a new car, I would recommend considering foreign brands like Toyota or Honda.
