The second-generation QX50 entered production in November 2017 as a 2019 model.

Common 2015 Infiniti Qx50 problems

The 2015 Infiniti QX50 has been reported to have two common problems by its owners, with the worst complaints being related to accessories - exterior and brakes.

  • Premature rotor wear: This issue is the most frequently reported problem in the 2015 QX50, with an average cost to fix of $500 and typically occurring around 18,000 miles. This problem can lead to a decrease in braking performance and could potentially increase the risk of accidents. It is essential to have this issue addressed promptly to ensure the safety of the vehicle's occupants.
  • Rearview mirror vibration: This problem is the second most frequently reported issue in the 2015 QX50, but the average cost to fix is not available. This issue can be a significant inconvenience for drivers, as it can make it difficult to see what is behind the vehicle when reversing or changing lanes. It is recommended to have this issue addressed as soon as possible to ensure safe driving conditions.

In addition to these reported problems, there are other issues that owners of the 2015 QX50 have experienced. For example, high temperatures can cause starter, alternator, battery, and AC problems early on, particularly in dry heat conditions, which can lead to wear on shocks, struts, and other rubber bushings on the suspension.

The 2015 QX50 has also been reported to have issues with the steering rack, which can cause leaks and require expensive repairs.

When considering the reliability of the 2015 QX50, it is worth noting that Consumer Reports expects the 2024 model to have about average reliability compared to other new cars. However, this prediction is based on limited data from the QX50, as well as the Infiniti brand scores.

In summary, the 2015 Infiniti QX50 has been reported to have issues with premature rotor wear, rearview mirror vibration, high temperature-related problems, steering rack leaks, and differential wear. It is essential to address these issues promptly to ensure the safety and reliability of the vehicle.

ENGINE PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2014-11-21
  • VIN: JN1BJ0HR5FM
  • Components: ENGINE
  • Summary: THE CAR STARTED NORMALLY AND AFTER DRIVING ABOUT A QUARTER OF A MILE I WAS SUDDENLY COASTING WITHOUT POWER. THE ENGINE JUST QUIT. WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND BRAKES I WAS STILL ABLE TO GUIDE IT TO THE CURB AND COME TO A SAFE STOP. WHAT I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR IT ACTED AS IF THE BATTERY DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO TURN OVER THE ENGINE, ALTHOUGH LIGHTS, HORN AND RADIO STILL WORKED FINE. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND AFTER WEEK OF UNSUCCESSFUL TROUBLESHOOTING THE INFINITI REPS GOT INVOLVED. WHEN THE OIL PAN WAS REMOVED THEY FOUND NUMEROUS PIECES OF METAL OF VARYING SIZES AS IF SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE HAD DISINTEGRATED. IF THEY KNOW WHAT CAUSED IT THEY HAVEN;T TOLD ME, AND I SINCE I HAD LEASED IT JUST TWO WEEKS PRIOR I'VE ASKED FOR A NEW VEHICLE RATHER THAN TO HAVE THE ENGINE IN THIS ONE REPLACED. AS OF TODAY, NEARLY 2 WEEKS AFTER THE INCIDENT, I AM STILL AWAITING A DECISION. LUCKILY I WAS ON A SIDE STREET WHEN THIS OCCURRED. HAD IT HAPPENED MINUTES LATER I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON A HIGH SPEED MULTI-LANE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AND THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. *TR

Negative 2015 Infiniti Qx50 car reviews

I have had my QX50 for a little over a week now.I had looked at so many cars that I more than likely rushed to judgement in buying this vehicle. My problem is, it was a cold day when I test drove the car and did not notice some things that I have grown to take for granite on a $40,000 plus car.As an example: 1 touch windows up/down, Ventilated seats, no seat lumbar adjustment, 1 touch moon/sun roof, and I just found out that Nissan doesn't even make a cargo net for it.Nor does this model have blind spot indicators or adaptive cruise control which our $25k Altima had.

I want an SUV instead of a car. I prefer the feel of an SUV.

  3. Oral Considine 2024-03-25

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my car. Every couple of months, when I slip into reverse, the engine automatically rises to 3500 rpm, which can be a bit alarming. I've found that I need to press down hard on the brake to stop the car. Unfortunately, Park Place Infinity has not been able to fix the issue or take the car back. I just wanted to give a heads up to any potential buyers out there. If you've had a similar experience, I'd love to compare notes! Feel free to reach out to me at [contact info removed].

Positive 2015 Infiniti Qx50 car reviews

  1. Moshe Champlin 2024-11-12

I really enjoyed this car! It was cute, comfortable, and so much fun to drive. Unfortunately, after only owning it for six weeks, I was rear-ended and hit by a truck, resulting in a total loss. Although I had a lot of bruises, I was lucky enough to walk away. I really wish I could still have this car.

  2. Enid Abbott 2024-10-01

The car sounds like a great fit for someone who enjoys driving solo or with a single passenger. It's definitely a fun ride! However, it may not be the best option for those who frequently transport larger groups or need to haul a lot of items. The front seating is a bit snug for taller individuals, and unfortunately, the back seat doesn't offer much space at all. I personally found it challenging to fit my real estate signs in the back.

  3. Leopold Franecki 2024-06-09

I'm so glad I bought this car! It has everything I wanted and more. It's comfortable, quick, intuitive, and fun to drive. Even my dog loves it! She can stick her nose out the rear window without having to put her front legs on the door frame. We're both happy campers. I haven't had many passengers, so I can't attest to the rear seat comfort, but overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

  4. King Rice 2024-06-03

You'll enjoy a comfortable ride and excellent acceleration in this car. The exterior is wonderful, but unfortunately the glove box door is not opening/closing and there is no hard drive to store your favorite music tracks. The interior materials, particularly in the steering wheel, could be of better quality and look less cheap. Acura has better luxury quality in this regard. While fuel economy is poor, it's probably not a top priority for those who are buying a luxury car. It's worth noting that the car can be noisy inside at higher speeds.

  5. Damien Kovacek 2024-04-16

2015 QX50...Bought Used in Jan 2018...one prior owner. This car has been absolutely problem free as I type this in June 2022. Previously, I owned a 2010 Q Coupe with only a window seal needing replacement....great car. My QX is essentially the same car with a different body...fast and comfortable. I'm retired now and will keep the QX till it stops ticking...or I do.
