2014 Honda Crosstour problems
The Honda Crosstour (initially branded the Accord Crosstour) is a mid-size crossover SUV with a sloping rear roofline manufactured by Japanese automaker Honda. It is based on the North American eighth-generation Accord. Sales began in November 2009 for the 2010 model year, and the vehicle was discontinued after the 2015 model year due to slow sales.
Design
The Crosstour was marketed as a "hatchback"/"wagon" variation of the Accord and shared the same platform. The Crosstour was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine (choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive) or 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine (front-wheel drive only), with prices that started at $29,670, above those of the Accord sedan (which started at under $23,000). For the 2012 model year, Honda removed the "Accord" prefix, making the name just "Crosstour", and gave its front grille a restyle. A four-cylinder engine for front-wheel drive models was released in late 2011 and put on sale in early 2012.
The Crosstour was a direct competitor to the Toyota Venza, a crossover wagon based upon the Accord's perennial competitor, the Camry. And like the Venza, which was meant to replace the Camry wagon, the Crosstour was considered a successor to the Accord wagon.
In terms of positioning, the Crosstour slotted between the compact CR-V and fullsize Pilot in Honda's crossover SUV lineup, Compared to the Pilot, the Crosstour was longer but had two rows of seating compared to the Pilot's three and had approximately 50 cubic feet less interior space.
The Crosstour was sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Russia. Guangqi Honda built and marketed the Crosstour in China.

I have a confession to make - I absolutely love hatchbacks and station wagons! Ever since my Dad's first 1960 Buick Invicta station wagon, I've been hooked. The sporty and aggressive front and sharp profile of this five door hatchback catch my eye, although I must admit that the rear end is not my favourite. Despite this, the car is fast, sporty and has great utility in the hatchback. It's not a fancy or luxurious car, but it's perfect for those who love a sporty ride. I have the 3.5 liter 6 with 4WD and all the tech, including a right-side-mirror lane monitoring camera (which I absolutely love!). The only downside is that the driver's seat (and presumably all of the seats) is quite hard, but it's designed for taking fast, sharp curves, so it's well-built and bolstered. It's not a plush Buick chair, but that's okay with me. With 278HP, it accelerates faster than my 2003 Audi A4 and is just as fun to drive. Plus, it can carry a lot more stuff home from Home Depot! On the highway, the Cylinder Management kicks in and goes from 6 cylinders to 3, getting 28mpg for long cruises. The cargo space is perfect for many large things, and for 8 out of 10 utility things, it works just fine. I've even had almost 500 lbs of gardening supplies in the back end at one time with no problem, and it didn't seem to impact the handling. It's essentially a Honda Accord, so you know it's reliable as heck. I've had it for four years and haven't had one second of problems. The only minor issue is that the KEY FOB dash lite seems to come on a lot, but it's not a problem - just a bit irritating.I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with the Crosstour. Despite some people finding it funny looking, I was able to sell it in April 2017 and got $19000 in trade. It was definitely a great decision for me!

I purchased a used 2013 Crosstour with 27,100 miles on the odometer to replace my old Civic as my wife and I needed a larger vehicle. The cargo space is perfect for our needs, and although the rear visibility is slightly compromised, the backup camera alleviates this issue. The car's acceleration is impressive for a 4 cylinder, and the fuel consumption is good for a car of this size. Additionally, the Crosstour's unique appearance sets it apart from other vehicles on the road. Despite owning Mustangs, Camaros, a Subaru WRX, and other exotic-looking cars, I have never owned a car that I enjoy looking at as much as the Crosstour. It is a rare sight on the road, and according to my research, it holds its value well. As an Accord, parts are readily available and affordable. The vehicle's height makes it easy for me to get in and out of, which is especially important for me due to my bad back. Overall, it is a fantastic car to own!

I'm so glad to hear that you love your Honda Crosstour! It's always great to hear positive feedback about a car. It sounds like you've had a really good experience with it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!

I recently decided to switch from my BMW X5 after 5 years of ownership. Although I loved the power and handling, the maintenance costs and tire wear were too much for me. In fact, I ended up spending more on maintenance and repairs than the car's original price. I was looking for a car that could offer me power, comfort, and reliability. After test driving several cars, I found the perfect fit with the Honda Crosstour EX-L. It may be smaller, but it still has enough room for my belongings without having to get a pickup truck. The car is quick off the line and has great gas mileage, which is a plus. It's also cheaper to fill up with regular gas instead of BMW's premium gas. The car's handling is nimble and quick, although it took me some time to get used to it. The car may not be as flashy as the X5, but it has a sleek design that resembles many higher-priced sports models. This is my first Japanese car, but I'm willing to buy another one if this car lasts as long as they say it will.

Coming from an older Accord, I must say that this is a really nice transition without going too big and boxy like an SUV. I particularly like the blue dash lights, the large navigation screen, the XM buttons, the darkened rear windows, the 3-view rear camera, the right side camera on demand, and the impressive safety rating. I'm banking on Honda's reliability, which I've experienced in the past. Update: The vehicle is still fine. I haven't figured out the best way to transport a medium-sized dog safely without scratching the seats.

Hello, we recently purchased our second V6 AWD Crosstour and have been experiencing a severe floor board shake at speeds between 22mph-30mph. Even in stop and go traffic, the car hesitates and shakes the floorboards and gas pedal. We believe this may be a major design flaw, as it is much worse in normal drive than in S drive using the paddle shifters. Additionally, the car shakes quite hard at speeds between 70-78mph on the highway, even though the tires are balanced. We are concerned that this may be an engine or transmission design flaw, especially since we experienced the same issue in our 2010 model and it has only gotten worse in our 2013 model. We have also heard that people are experiencing similar problems with the VCM in the Acura RDX. We kindly request that Honda address this issue as soon as possible to prevent any potential accidents. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

My first Honda. Despite numerous complaints and trips to the dealer, the high pitched whine in the transmission persists. I have driven 3 other Honda's of the same model and they did not have this issue. It is concerning that my rear brakes are totally worn out while my front brake pads still have 85% of their original thickness. I believe that Honda should take responsibility for these issues and take appropriate action to address them.
