2014 Bmw 740i problems
The BMW 7 Series is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by the German automaker BMW since 1977. It is the successor to the BMW E3 "New Six" sedan and is now in its seventh generation.
The 7 Series is BMW's flagship car and is only available in a sedan bodystyle (including long wheelbase and limousine models). It traditionally introduces technologies and exterior design themes before other models in BMW's lineup.
The first generation of the 7 Series was powered by straight-6 petrol engines, and following generations have been powered by inline-4, straight-6, V8 and V12 engines with both natural aspiration and turbocharging. Since 1995, diesel engines have been optional in the 7 Series.
Unlike the 3 Series and 5 Series sedans, BMW does not offer a full M model, but once offered an M performance variant, the BMW M760 with its 6.6L V12 (at the time the most powerful BMW ever made, not to be confused with BMW 760 6.6 V12 which does not offer the same performance). The Alpina B7 (G12) served as the high-performance variant of the 7 Series.

Common 2014 Bmw 740i problems
The BMW 740i 2014 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. These problems include valve cover, intake manifold, and PCV plate oil leaks. The 740i is equipped with either the N54 or N55 engine, both of which have their unique issues.
The N54 engine, which was used in earlier years of the 740i, is known for its high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, and turbocharger failures. These issues can lead to leaks and reduced performance. However, many owners have reported that the N54 engine can last quite well in used cars, with some examples reaching nearly 200,000 miles
The N55 engine, which was introduced in the facelifted 740i, is generally considered to be more reliable than the N54. However, it still has some areas of concern, such as failed gaskets, oil leaks, and VANOS solenoid issues. Checking for any history of a water pump replacement is also recommended as a preventative measure
The 750i, which features the N63 twin-turbocharged V8 engine, has been reported to have cooling issues, particularly in earlier years. Injectors can become contaminated, and there is a risk of carbon buildup in the engine. The timing chain is also a weaker part that can cause problems
In addition to engine issues, the 740i has been reported to have problems with its electronics and gadgets, which can deteriorate over time and cause trouble. It is essential to have a well-documented car with a good service history to avoid these issues
When buying a used 740i, it is recommended to check for any leaks, ask questions about the high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, and turbochargers, and look for signs of oil leaks and VANOS solenoid issues. Checking for a well-documented car with a good service history and a history of water pump replacement is also essential
In conclusion, the BMW 740i 2014 has several common problems based on complaints from owners, including valve cover, intake manifold, and PCV plate oil leaks, engine issues, and problems with electronics and gadgets. When buying a used 740i, it is crucial to check for any leaks, ask questions about the high-pressure fuel pump, injectors, and turbochargers, and look for signs of oil leaks and VANOS solenoid issues. Checking for a well-documented car with a good service history and a history of water pump replacement is also essential.
