2013 Honda Crosstour problems

honda logo

The Honda Crosstour (initially branded the Accord Crosstour) is a mid-size crossover SUV with a sloping rear roofline manufactured by Japanese automaker Honda. It is based on the North American eighth-generation Accord. Sales began in November 2009 for the 2010 model year, and the vehicle was discontinued after the 2015 model year due to slow sales.

Design

The Crosstour was marketed as a "hatchback"/"wagon" variation of the Accord and shared the same platform. The Crosstour was powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine (choice of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive) or 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine (front-wheel drive only), with prices that started at $29,670, above those of the Accord sedan (which started at under $23,000). For the 2012 model year, Honda removed the "Accord" prefix, making the name just "Crosstour", and gave its front grille a restyle. A four-cylinder engine for front-wheel drive models was released in late 2011 and put on sale in early 2012.

The Crosstour was a direct competitor to the Toyota Venza, a crossover wagon based upon the Accord's perennial competitor, the Camry. And like the Venza, which was meant to replace the Camry wagon, the Crosstour was considered a successor to the Accord wagon.

In terms of positioning, the Crosstour slotted between the compact CR-V and fullsize Pilot in Honda's crossover SUV lineup, Compared to the Pilot, the Crosstour was longer but had two rows of seating compared to the Pilot's three and had approximately 50 cubic feet less interior space.

The Crosstour was sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Middle East, Southeast Asia and Russia. Guangqi Honda built and marketed the Crosstour in China.

Is Honda Crosstour a reliable car?

The Honda Crosstour is generally considered a reliable vehicle, but it has had some recurring problems in specific model years.

Why did the Honda Crosstour fail?

The Crosstour was a slow seller, with previous year models still unsold well into the next model year. It wasn't space-efficient or fuel-efficient. Its styling was controversial at best. It had the bulk of an SUV without the cargo capacity.

Is Honda Crosstour expensive to maintain?

The average total annual cost for repairs and maintenance on a Honda Crosstour is $520, compared to an average of $526 for midsize cars and $652 for all vehicle models.

How long can a Honda Crosstour last?

The Honda Crosstour has an estimated 200,000-mile lifespan. If you travel 20,000 miles per year, you can use your Crosstour for ten years before needing major repairs. The Honda Crosstour should endure for more than 200,000 kilometers. A well-maintained Crosstour may go up to 300,000 miles before breaking down.

  • Summary: As I was driving out of the parking garage I could not turn the wheel of my vehicle and almost hit a cement pillar. A light popped on that had a steering wheel and a exclamation mark. This message had never popped up before. I looked in my owners manual and found it was the power steering sign. I thought my vehicle needed power steering fluid but found out it was automatic. I took it to the dealership and they stated I need a steering rack.

SERVICE BRAKES,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2024-04-29
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H55DL
  • Components: SERVICE BRAKES,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
  • Summary: The FCW, LDW, ABS, and the traction control lights came on a couple of days after I had brand new factory brakes and rotors put on. I took it to the dealership and they told me this has been a known issue with the Crosstours for a while that I needed to replace the ABS modulator. Upon my research they were correct, Honda has been aware of this issue for a few years but has yet to do a recall. This is an widespread problem that puts everyone in danger.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-07-28
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H57DL
  • Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
  • Summary: All warning lights came on-LDW/ABS/VSA/FCW at first around 7/25/23 . Called Honda service-told to bring it in for diagnostic check. Then on 7/27/23 power steering went out-had car towed in to dealer-they fixed/replaced EPS Control unit under extended warranty extension 19-036. They diagnosed the electrical systems -said it needed VSA Modulator ($2222.36 prepaid)-and said safe to drive. That was at 54,947 miles on the car-after a couple of weeks, the ‘BRAKE LIGHT’ warning light came on -at first intermittently-then every time-then intermittently again. Called dealership-said -yes-that’s normal, that it happened to other Honda Crosstours an Honda Accords! They said ‘ should be safe to drive’ —???? Would you feel safe to driving this vehicle? Looked online -found article on the VSA Modulator-many Honda Crosstours and Accords had this same problem-saw a picture on why this modulator needed to be replaced-the ‘DESIGN FLAW’ was at the connection where it connected to the circuit board -solder broke, because too much pressure at connection when it plugged in ( vertically plugged in) This should be fixed under extended warranty like the power steering control unt— How or why the ‘brake warning light’ is unexplained, but it’s it a safety issue not knowing? If the brakes fail and someone is injured, minor or fatally, ‘who’s responsible’ -or ‘liable’-the driver or the manufacturer??????? My crosstour still awaiting VSA Modulator after two and a half months!! Issue: 1. Safe to drive 2. Who should pay 3.Who’s responsibility? (Liability)

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-05-10
  • VIN: 5J6TF1H59DL
  • Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
  • Summary: The starter system is intermittent and grinds on occasion which keeps the car from starting. If I were in a situation where the car must start, ie: on a railroad track etc., this would be deadly! I read on line where there are thousands of people having the same issue and Honda knows of this issue and has not addressed it! The starter motor housing is engineered incorrectly and after a short time, the teeth grind and destroy the flywheel. This needs to be recalled and if they do not, it needs to be a forced recall.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2022-04-11
  • VIN: 5J6TF1H52DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: When driving around 30 miles per hour the vehicle would still drive but it was extremely difficult to turn. I noticed the steering warning failure indicator was flashing on the dash, I could barely pull over to left to avoid cars from hitting me from the sides and came to a complete stop. (The car was still running, no steering) . I cycled the key and waited for a couple of minutes, the power steering light was off and the steering worked but only for about 100 meters, this happened about five times before I was able to drive it home. The issue has not reoccurred yet, I'm going to the dealer tomorrow for general maintenance but I was already told that it will be hard to diagnose if the issue is not present. I don't feel safe on this car, specially for long trips or highway speeds.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2020-08-28
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H51DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: DRIVING ON I85N AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE EPS (ELEC. POWER STEERING) LIGHT CAME ON AND STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS WARNING. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND VEER OFF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT ANY INCIDENT THANKFULLY DUE TO MINIMAL TURNING REQUIRED. A WEEK LATER, THE ISSUE REOCCURRED AFTER A FEW DAYS OF BEING PARKED. AT LEAST THIS TIME I WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY... WHY DID THE NHTSA INVESTIGATION ONLY RESULT IN THE EPS ISSUE BEING COVERED FOR THE ACCORD (2 DIFFERENT TSBS) OF THE SAME YEAR BUT NOT FOR THE CROSSTOUR IF THE CROSSTOUR IS BASED ON THE ACCORD?

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Summary: WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 25MPH ON HARTFORD (CT) CITY STREET AFTER SEVERAL MILES OUT OF I-91, MY STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY WENT STIFF AND THEN AN ICON WITH THE STEERING WHEEL AND AND EXCLAMATION MARK APPEARED. I COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, I HAD TO USE ALL MY STRENGTH TO SLOWLY ROLL OFF THE STREET TO GO STRAIGHT INTO CURBSIDE AND WAITED FOR AAA TOW TRUCK TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND DELIVER IT TO MY HOME FOR REPAIRING AND I WAS REQUIRED TO FIND OUT A WAY TO TRANSPORT MY FAMILY SEPARATELY TO HOME DUE TO LOCAL COVID-19 RULE. I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE BECAUSE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. GLAD TO BE ALIVE AND DRIVING AT LOW SPEED. THIS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING. I RESTARTED MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES, THE EPS LIGHT COULD NOT GONE.

  • VIN: 5J6TF1H54DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: AT 92,886 MILES, CRANKED MY PARKED CAR UP TO BACK OUT OF THE GARAGE AND NOTICED THE EPS WARNING LIGHT WAS ON AND REMAINED ON. AS I ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT, I WAS COMPLETELY UNABLE TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. I'VE HAD OLDER CARS WHERE YOU COULD AT LEAST MUSCLE THE STEERING WHEN LOW ON POWER STEERING FLUID... NOT SO IN THIS CASE. VERY THANKFUL I WAS NOT ALREADY ON THE HIGHWAY AS THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING OF ANY PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER MISSED A SERVICE, HAS HIGH QUALITY SYNTHETIC BLEND OIL, GARAGE KEPT AND ALWAYS HAD THE RECOMMENDED SERVICE. THE CAR IS A BEAUTIFUL COMPLETELY UNUSABLE VEHICLE RIGHT NOW. I CALLED A LOCAL AUTO SERVICE CENTER AND THEY SAID ONLY HONDA CAN ADDRESS THIS SITUATION AND THE REPAIR STARTS AT $3000. I READ MANY COMPLAINTS FROM HONDA OWNERS OF 2013 CROSSTOURS/ACCORDS AND UNDERSTAND THERE ARE MANY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF OWNERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE OUT OF THE BLUE, SOME OF WHOM EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING.

POWER TRAIN PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2018-07-19
  • VIN: 5J6TF3H32DL
  • Components: POWER TRAIN
  • Summary: AFTER TAKING MY VEHICLE TO HOLMAN HONDA SUNRISE FOR AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL A VIBRATION STARTED HAPPENING. TOOK BACK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD AIR RECALL FIXING WOULDN'T CAUSED IT THEN THEY DID AN INSPECTION PROVIDED THREE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REPAIR FRONT PASSENGER AXLE, BRAKES AND ROTATOR, AND ALL NEW FOUR WHEELS. COMPLETED ALL RECOMMENDATIONS GIVEN BY THE DEALERSHIP VIBRATIONS STILL NOT FIXED. HAD A SECOND INSPECTION ON THE VEHICLE BY PRIVATE MECHANIC WHO SEEN THAT THE AXLE PART IS BAD. WENT BACK TO HOLMAN HONDA SUNRISE MADE THEM AWARE AND ASKED THEM TO INSPECT THEIR AXLE PART TO SEE IF IT WAS FAILING; THEY REFUSED TO CHECK THE AXLE PART AND JUST WANTED TO ISSUE A REFUND TO NOT DEAL WITH THE SAFETY OF MY SON AND ME. CONTACTED HONDA MANUFACTURER ABOUT THIS SAFETY CONCERN ON A MANUFACTURER DEFECTED PART THEY REFUSED ASSISTANCE AND RECOMMENDED TO CONTINUE WORKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP WHO REFUSED TO TAKE LIABILITY ON A PARTY THEY SOLD TO ME. ALSO HONDA MANUFACTURER REFERRED ME TO GO DEAL WITH ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND PAY MORE MONEY OUT OF POCKET AFTER ALREADY WORKING WITH A DEALERSHIP ASSOCIATED WITH THEM THAT HAS BEEN NEGLIGENT ABOUT MY SAFETY. DUE TO AXLE VIBRATION HAS CAUSED THE AXLE SEALS TO LINK. THIS HAS BEEN A FRUSTRATION AS THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURE HAS NOT SHOWED ANY SAFETY CONCERNS ON A VEHICLE THAT COULD CAUSE INJURIES. THIS HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE TO SEE HOW THE DEALERSHIP AND MANUFACTURE TREAT PEOPLE FAMILIES AND LIFE OF OTHER BECAUSE OF THEIR BAD MALPRACTICE AND REFUSES TO ASSIST CONSUMERS FURTHER THEY AVOID THE LIABILITY AND PUSH IT ON THE CONSUMER AFTER THEIR SERVICE. HONDA ONCE WERE TRUSTED VEHICLES NOW I PUT NO TRUST IN THEM AS THEY HAVE LITTLE CONCERNS OR NO REMORSE ABOUT THE SAFETY OF CONSUMERS DRIVING THEY VEHICLE. ITS LIKE MONEY OVER SAFETY. ITS SAD WHEN A CONSUMER HAS PAID OUT OF POCKET SPENT SO MUCH TIME TRUSTING HONDA STILL NO FIX.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2019-07-02
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H56DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: UPON DRIVING HOME I TURNED A CORNER AND IMMEDIATELY MY STEERING WENT OUT AND I COULD NOT STEER THE CAR AT ALL. THE CAR HAS ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING AND THE SYSTEM WENT OUT. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD SITUATION. I HAD I TOWED TO HONDA WHICH SAID THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND WILL COST $3000. THE WORST PART IS THEY CAN'T SEEN TO FIX IT, THEY PUT IN A NEW SYSTEM BUT CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE COMPUTER TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS FOR THE ACCORD/CROSSTOURS WITH THIS ISSUE FROM 2013-2015 WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING GOING OUT. HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. TWO WEEKS LATER I STILL HAVE NO CAR. THIS WAS A PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED CAR AND I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND IT ONLY HAS 72,000 MILES.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2019-01-31
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H57DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: PURCHASED IN 2016. IN 2018 WITH ABOUT 80K ON THE ODOMETER I BEGAN TO EXPERIENCE INTERMITTENT EPS FAILURE. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND FELT THE STEERING GET HEAVIER. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. CHECKED FOR DAMAGE UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW NOTHING. RESTARTING THE CAR, THE ISSUE WENT AWAY. IT OCCURRED THE NEXT DAY AND WAS INTERMITTENT FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS, BUT NOW SEEMS TO BE IN FAILURE 100% OF THE TIME. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS THE EPS WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE STEERING BECOMES VERY HEAVY, AS IF THERE IS ZERO POWER ASSISTANCE FROM THE EPS SYSTEM. THE STEERING IS STILL FUNCTIONAL, SO THE ISSUE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE MECHANICAL WITH A 100% STEERING FAILURE, IT'S ONLY THE POWERED STEERING ASSISTANCE THAT IS FAILING. CAR IS STILL OPERABLE BUT VERY CUMBERSOME WHILE PARKING, HOWEVER MY WIFE CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR SAFELY BECAUSE THE STEERING IS TOO HEAVY FOR HER. THIS FAILURE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE 2013 ACCORD AS PE14033. THE ACCORD IS THE SISTER CAR TO THE CROSSTOUR (A PREVIOUS MODEL OF CROSSTOUR WAS CALLED THE ACCORD CROSSTOUR), SO IT SEEMS LIKELY THEY SHARE THE SAME CAUSE AND IN MY OPINION THE CROSSTOUR SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE SAME TSB 15-055 ISSUED BY HONDA FOR 2013/2014 ACCORDS.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2019-05-24
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H59DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: NO NOTABLE PREVIOUS PROBLEMS. LEAVING A RESTAURANT LATE IN THE EVENING, GOT INTO MY CAR STARTED AND IMMEDIATELY THE STEERING (EPS) INDICATOR LIGHT WAS ON AND THERE WAS NO POWER IN THE STEERING AND THE BRAKES WERE HARD. I SHUT OFF ENGINE AND TRIED TO RESTART TWO TIMES TO SEE IF SYSTEM WOULD RESET. NO LUCK. NEXT DAY. WENT BACK TO PARKING LOT, STARTED CAR AND HOPING POSSIBLE RESET-NO LUCK. I WAS PARKED- WHEN THIS OCCURRED THANKFULLY. I HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO HONDA. I AM NOW LOOKING AT MORE THAN $ 3000 REPAIR BILL AND $700 RENTAL DUE TO TWO WEEKS OF DIAGNOSING AND WORK TO REPAIR. I AM NUMBER 10 IN THE 2013 CROSSTOUR STEERING COMPLAINTS THAT ARE ALL SIMILAR. AND HAVE BEEN REPORTED. ARE THERE MORE UNREPORTED OCCURRENCES? THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN INJURED. WHAT HAS TO HAPPEN BEFORE A RECALL IS ADMINISTERED?

VISIBILITY PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2017-02-15
  • Components: VISIBILITY
  • Summary: TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 HONDA CROSSTOUR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE GLASS SHATTERED. THE SLIDER WAS CLOSED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED AND PREVENTED GLASS FROM ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DEALER (KENDALL HONDA OF FAIRBANKS, 1000 CADILLAC CT, FAIRBANKS, AK 99701, (855) 981-5607) RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE SERVICED AT FRONTIER GLASS (3401 PEGER RD B, FAIRBANKS, AK 99709, (907) 451-4527). FRONTIER GLASS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NO LONGER OWNED THE VEHICLE AS IT WAS TRADED IN FOR A 2017 HONDA RIDGELINE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.

STEERING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2018-04-29
  • VIN: 5J6TF2H52DL
  • Components: STEERING
  • Summary: ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND WAS LUCKY TO BE IN AN AREA THAT WASN'T HEAVY WITH TRAFFIC AT THE TIME AND I HAD MY NIECE AND 3 CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND NERVE WRECKING. I HAD TO CALL A RIDE FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS WHILE I WAITED FOR THE TOW TRUCK. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP I HAD TO PAY $1650 FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT IT'S ONLY UNDER WARRANTY FOR ONE YEAR OR 12K MILES. DOES THIS MEAN THAT IN A YEAR I MIGHT HAVE THE HEAD ACHE OF HAVING TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS AGAIN OR EVEN WORSE GET HIT OR KILLED BECAUSE HONDA HAS FAULTY EQUIPMENT THAT THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE?

Negative 2013 Honda Crosstour car reviews

I purchased this car new in 2012 and initially loved it due to my previous positive experiences with Honda Accords. However, I noticed a persistent vibration between 21-24 mph that made it feel as though the car was about to stall. Despite taking the car back to Honda multiple times within the first year of ownership and having several parts replaced, the vibration persisted.

This car model with the V6 comes with a motor warranty from Honda of America. Unfortunately, I lost a cylinder at 110,450 miles, but Honda rebuilt the engine and replaced most everything for only $600. They even provided a free rental for a day. I was thrilled to discover this after reporting the issue to the NTHSA.

My first Honda. Despite numerous complaints and trips to the dealer, the high pitched whine in the transmission persists. I have driven 3 other Honda's of the same model and they did not have this issue. It is concerning that my rear brakes are totally worn out while my front brake pads still have 85% of their original thickness. I believe that Honda should take responsibility for these issues and take appropriate action to address them.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share a quick story about my Crosstour. I bought it used in 2012 with 80k miles and everything was going great until I had to set the parking brake. Unfortunately, the right rear caliper seized up and ended up smoking the rotor and pads. I took it to the Honda dealer and they were able to turn the rotor, install new pads and a new caliper for just one wheel, which ended up costing me $750.00. A year later, I experienced the same failure with the left rear caliper while I was in Michigan. Luckily, I found a great mechanic named Greg who was able to make the same repair for just $250.00. I'm so grateful for his help and expertise!

Hello, we recently purchased our second V6 AWD Crosstour and have been experiencing a severe floor board shake at speeds between 22mph-30mph. Even in stop and go traffic, the car hesitates and shakes the floorboards and gas pedal. We believe this may be a major design flaw, especially since it is much worse in normal drive than in S drive using the paddle shifters. Additionally, the car shakes quite hard at speeds between 70-78mph on the highway, even though the tires are balanced. We are concerned that this may be an engine or transmission design flaw, especially since we experienced the same issue in our 2010 Crosstour. We have also heard that people are complaining about similar problems with the Acura RDX, which has the VCM. We kindly request that Honda address this major design flaw before it causes any accidents. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Positive 2013 Honda Crosstour car reviews

My husband and I were in search of a larger and safer 4-door vehicle. We considered smaller SUVs and station wagons, and almost settled on the Subaru Outback 3.6R. However, we were disappointed with its gas mileage. Our FJ Cruiser, on the other hand, gets better gas mileage. We then stumbled upon a Honda dealership and noticed the Crosstour on display. I decided to take it for a test drive and was pleasantly surprised. It had everything we were looking for and more! The ride was incredibly smooth and comfortable. I have been averaging 23-27 mpg, depending on traffic. The interior is very comfortable and the Crosstour has a sleek look. I feel like I am driving a very expensive, luxury car.

I used to own a 2006 Civic but needed a larger and more comfortable vehicle. After considering a CRV, I was attracted to the Crosstour's strong V6, excellent build quality, and comfort. I also liked the fact that it was not as common as other cars. I purchased my Crosstour as a certified Honda with 39,000 miles on it and have been impressed with its ride quality, comfort, safety, and build quality. Although some people complain about the view when looking in the rearview mirror, I found that I got used to it after a couple of days. I happen to like the styling and think the vehicle looks very good. The V6 engine is extremely powerful, making it a great family vehicle. I strongly recommend it.

Coming from an older Accord, I must say that this is a really nice transition without going too big and boxy like an SUV. I particularly like the blue dash lights, the large navigation screen, the XM buttons, the darkened rear windows, the 3-view rear camera, the right side camera on demand, and the impressive safety rating. I'm banking on Honda's reliability, which I've experienced in the past. Update: The vehicle is still fine. I haven't figured out the best way to transport a medium-sized dog safely without scratching the seats.

I am a big fan of Honda cars, so I may be a little biased. My last two new cars were Honda Accord sedans. This time, I decided to go for the 2013 Honda Crosstour in Mountain Aire, which is a beautiful shade of blue. I absolutely love the versatility of this car - with the pull of a handle, one of the back seats folds flat, and if you pull the other handle, the other back seat folds down flat, making it a mini SUV. I have even fit five medium pet carriers in the back for vet visits and during a hurricane evacuation. The deck height at the rear of the car is perfect for me. When I open the hatchback, I can easily slide things in and out at a comfortable height. If I drive carefully, I can get an impressive 39 miles to the gallon, which is exceptional considering the size and weight of the car. The car has several upscale features, such as a camera in the passenger side sideview mirror, so you can see traffic in your blind spot. I ordered the E-XL model, which has navigation and leather seats. The driver seat has an eight-way power adjustable seat, while the front passenger seat has a six-way power adjustable seat. There are many personalization options, such as whether or not to beep your horn when you lock the car with the key fob, which interior lights, if any, you want to come on when you open the doors, which doors you want unlocked when you hit the unlock button on the key fob, and the rearview mirror will automatically aim down when backing up, and you can choose at any time which one you want to aim down - left or right. All in all, it’s a fantastic car. I have had it for 10 years and I don’t plan on replacing it anytime soon.

It's a spacious car inside and very fuel-efficient, especially on highways. I have kept it well-maintained, so its performance has been excellent.
