The Ford Crown Victoria ("Crown Vic") is a full-size sedan that was marketed and manufactured by Ford. The successor to the Ford LTD Crown Victoria, two generations of the model line were produced from the 1992 until the 2012 model years. From 1997 until their 2011 discontinuation, the three model lines were the sole four-door sedans produced in North America with a full-length frame, rear-wheel drive, and a standard V8 engine. While the front and rear crumple zones were engineered into the vehicle, it was one of Ford's products that were not of unibody construction for the entire generation. The Crown Victoria was the last car made using the Ford Panther platform.
For its entire production, the Crown Victoria was produced by Ford Canada alongside the Grand Marquis at St. Thomas Assembly in Southwold, Ontario. From 1991 until 2011, over 1.5 million cars (including Police Interceptors) were produced by St. Thomas Assembly prior to its closure. A 2012 Crown Victoria (intended for Middle East export) was the final vehicle produced by the facility. Following the discontinuation of the model line, the Crown Victoria was not directly replaced, with the full-size Ford Taurus serving as the next basis for Ford police cars.

WHEN CALLING FORD @ 800-392-3673 THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION OR HELP REGARDING THIS MATTER OR THE BULLETINS MENTIONED. THEY ADVISE THERE ARE NO BULLETINS AT ALL FOR MY VEHICLE. - Summary: I DRIVE A FORD "PROGRAM CAR" - A USED 2007 CROWN VICTORIA (A FORMER RENTAL VEHICLE). ON THE DAY OF MY ACCIDENT - AFTER PULLING ONTO A BUSY STREET FROM A PARKING LOT - I ALMOST IMMEDIATELY APPLIED MY BRAKES BECAUSE I WAS COMING UP TO A RED LIGHT WHERE SEVERAL CARS HAD ALREADY COME TO A STOP AHEAD OF ME. AT FIRST MY CAR SLOWED NORMALLY BUT, AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV' UP. I TRIED TAPPING THE BRAKE TO SEE IF THIS WOULD HELP TO DISENGAGE THE THROTTLE'S REVVING. IT DIDN'T HELP. I KEPT TRYING THIS. I HAD LITTLE TIME TO COME TO A STOP BEFORE HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME SO I REALLY "STOOD" ON THE BRAKES. UNFORTUNATELY, I HIT THE BACK BUMPER OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE TO EITHER CAR AND NO ONE WAS HURT. THIS SAME SITUATION HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED BUT THAT OCCURRENCE DIDN'T RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO TAP THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE REVVING SEEMED TO INSTANTLY GO AWAY. I HAD A PASSENGER WITH ME AT THE TIME. I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN WITH ANOTHER SIMILAR CAR IN THE PAST - A MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. IT HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE AND NO MATTER HOW OFTEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET HELP THEY KEPT TELLING ME THEY COULD NOT "REPLICATE" THE COMPLAINT. I TOOK MY CURRENT CROWN VICTORIA TO THE DEALERSHIP ONE DAY AFTER HAVING THIS MINOR ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS DUE FOR A SERVICE VISIT AND I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE MINOR ACCIDENT AND ASKED THEM TO SEE WHAT THEY COULD FIND OUT. AGAIN, I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE COMPLAINT. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2007 Ford Crown victoria.

- Components: STEERING:RACK AND PINION:PINION SHAFT
- Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 Ford Crown Victoria, 2005-2011 Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles manufactured March 23, 2004, to August 30, 2011, and 2005-2011 Lincoln Town Car vehicles manufactured March 8, 2004, to August 30, 2011, and on which the upper intermediate shaft was serviced during the course of safety recall 13V-385. The prior repairs may not have been correctly performed.
- Consequence: Improper servicing of the upper intermediate shaft could cause the shaft to separate, which can then result in a loss of steering control, and increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Ford will notify the owners of vehicles whose repair records reflect that the upper intermediate steering shaft was repaired during the course of the prior recall 13V-385. Dealers will inspect and replace the upper immediate shaft if necessary free of charge. The recall began November 17, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S25.

- Summary: Ford is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 Ford Crown Victoria (including Crown Victoria Police Interceptors), Mercury Grand Marquis, and Lincoln Town Car vehicles. The affected vehicles are currently registered or were originally sold in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Severe corrosion can seize the lower intermediate shaft which may cause the upper intermediate shaft to collapse and the steering column lower bearing to separate.
- Consequence: If the lower bearing separates, the vehicle may experience a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners and dealers will replace the lower intermediate shaft, free of charge. The upper intermediate shaft and steering column lower bearing will be inspected to identify any damage that may have occurred as a result of lower intermediate shaft corrosion, and repaired or replaced as necessary. If the steering column lower bearing has separated, a retainer clip will be installed. The recall began on October 23, 2013. Owners may contact Ford at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall number is 13S08.

Buy it! This car runs well and has a smooth engine. It may not be for everyone due to its size, but it has lots of room, even in the back seat. Some may call it a boat, but if my boat had the power and space this car has, I would take it out every day. As someone who is not typically a Ford fan, I must say that this car has really impressed me. So, go ahead and buy it with confidence!!!!

I purchased this Crown Victoria Police Interceptor battleship back in 2016 at a police auction for a great price of $2500 with only 93000 miles on it. I noticed a rust spot on the hood which indicated that it had been garaged for a long time. After a quick battery replacement and new tires, it was good to go. Over the past 6 years and 125000 miles, it has only required a brake job, one more battery, one transmission flush, and regular oil changes, which cost me less than $1000 in total maintenance. It's a joy to drive and sometimes I feel like it wants to come out of retirement and catch bad guys. I added a box trailer hitch to the rear end which improved its weight and traction, making it great for driving in the snow. Although it gets less gas mileage than newer cars, it's worth it because everyone thinks I'm a cop and nobody passes me (although people do wait at 4-way stop signs). One time, the real cops needed to pass me, and to get out of their way, I floored it and it took off like an F-16 on afterburners. According to the owners' manual, the CVPI is made from special high-reliability parts, and the doors are said to contain Kevlar bulletproofing. The undercarriage is slightly higher than normal for going over curbs, and the alternator and oil cooler are extra large.

I completely understand the frustration of the person complaining about the resale value, but it's important to do thorough research before making a purchase. Personally, I bought my car with the intention of driving it for as long as possible, so depreciation wasn't a major concern for me. Regarding the comment in the Vehicle Overview about the car being large and unwieldy, I have to disagree. In comparison to a full-sized SUV, this car is incredibly easy to drive and park. The suspension, steering, and wheels all contribute to a smooth and enjoyable driving experience. If Ford were to invest a bit more in the interior materials, add the 300HP 3 valve engine to the LX Sport, and promote the car more effectively, I believe it would be a huge success. In my opinion, the 300C is not as important as the overall quality and performance of the car.

I've had this car for 2 years and driven across the whole of the US 3 times in it. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: It's reliable, and if serviced properly, it will run beautifully, even if you don't change the oil often. It's also cheap! You can buy one for 4,000 USD. It's spacious too. I'm 6'3

I bought a 2004 Crown Vic Sport in late 2003 and I really enjoyed driving it. It had a big car but sporty feel with plenty of power. However, when I tried to get out of the car 18 months later, I encountered a problem. Despite paying the hefty $31,000 price for this car, I was disappointed to find out that it was worth only as much as a standard LX. It depreciated $15,500 in just 18 months. In my opinion, it is not worth the price. I would advise you to consider other options before making a purchase.
