In November 2021, Stellantis announced that 2023 model year would be the final model year for both the LD Dodge Charger and LA Dodge Challenger, as the company will focus its future plans on electric vehicles rather than fossil fuel powered vehicles, due to tougher emissions standards required by the Environmental Protection Agency for the 2023 model year. Challenger production ended on December 22, 2023, and the Brampton, Ontario assembly plant will be re-tooled to assemble an electrified successor.

- Summary: I experienced a catastrophic timing chain failure despite prior recall work being performed by Dodge that supposedly resolved their known timing chain issues with the 5.7L hemi with automatic transmission. This failure occurred without any prior warning at a cruising speed of about 65 MPH rendering the car undrivable. There were no warning lights, drivability issues, or signs of the impending failure. This is a well-maintained car with only 80,000 miles, never missing a required oil change and other maintenance tasks. Timing chains should not fail at such low milage - indeed, timing belts will last longer before they fail. This failure occurred on a major highway placing me and other motorists in danger from the car being unmovable and potentially causing a high-speed collision on a 70 MPH highway. If this had occurred less than 0.5 miles down the road, both shoulders of the roadway were closed due to road widening construction. A certified letter with pictures of the timing chain and timing chain guide failures with a receipt for associated repairs was sent the to the manufacturer in December 2023 but they have not given me the courtesy of a reply. The engine was replaced by an independent mechanic at an out-of-pocket cost of $13,217.38 and the pictures were taken at that time by the repair shop.

- Summary: The Gen III hemi has an inherent design flaw in which the rollers making contact with the camshaft will fail, causing damage to the camshaft and causing the engine to misfire. This is due to the camshaft being moved away from the crankshaft as it causes oil starvation. After extensive research it appears to affect cars of various miles and workload. There is no single cause that makes this happen other than a grievous design flaw. The main complaint is that you experience total power loss at higher revs, making it dangerous to drive on the interstate or attempting to merge into traffics as the engine begins to shudder and lose most power. Whether it’s 40K miles or 110K miles, the flaw does not discriminate. After numerous attempts to reach Chrysler technical service on how to prevent this, I’ve been ignored and case numbers deleted. Now this is very important. This causes a misfire which not only destroys catalytic converters, but arrives with no notice. It’s very possible someone may be attempting to pass someone on the interstate and suddenly lose power. My mechanic inspected it and confirmed that the rollers failed, causing causing lifters to not make proper clearance. This needs to be investigated as this engine is in millions of cars. And even if 1% of these failure occur on an interstate, the potential for fatalities is absolutely nothing to ignore. I kindly ask that this matter be investigated. As not everyone can afford the 5K to fix this problem like I can. And due to its high prevalence in trucks, this could cause those who use their trucks for work to be put in a tight spot. I understand normal wear and tear, but by no means should a cam and valve train fail this soon in a car. Giving the Gen III hemi by Chrysler and their infamous timing chain defect, I believe this is also a dangerous flaw and something Chrysler ignored. Hoping it would outlast warranties. Best regards.

THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP O-RINGS AT A COST OF $396.00 ($96 IN PARTS AND $300 IN LABOR). I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED, NEW OR USED, SINCE 1978. THE EXPOSURE TO GASOLINE FUMES IS A WELL KNOWN HEALTH HAZARD ESPECIALLY IN A CLOSED ENVIRONMENT SUCH AS A VEHICLE CABIN. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM

- Summary: TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 DODGE CHALLENGER. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND CHECKED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED SMOKE AND A SPARK COMING FROM THE ALTERNATOR. THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLE TO PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM POSSIBLY CATCHING ON FIRE. THE CONTACT THEN RECONNECTED THE BATTERY AND DROVE TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO SHOP. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR IN THE VEHICLE. AFTERWARDS, THE ALTERNATOR AND COMPUTER INSIDE THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS NOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 154,000.

Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could explode with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V01.

- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM owners. Mitsubishi owners will be notified by their company. Dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S43. Note: This recall supersedes recall 14V-7700.

After a recommendation from a British friend who is a die-hard fan of the movie 'Vanishing Point', we decided to purchase a Challenger R/T 5.7L Hemi. Although we initially considered the Chrysler 300C, we found it to be overpriced compared to the R/T. We previously owned a 300 V/6 Touring which was nice, but the R/T is superior in every way, from its craftsmanship to its power, handling, comfort, and ride. It's the perfect car for long trips, as we always arrive feeling refreshed. The car is very stable and quiet at high speeds, and the LED interior accent lighting is a nice touch. Everywhere you look, the car is nicely finished. It's been a real attention-getter, with people still gathering around it. Overall, it's the best car we've ever had for both fun and long trips.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with the 6 speed manual R/T Classic in TorRed. Let me tell you, this car is an absolute head turner! I have the cold air kit and the Mopar exhaust, and it sounds great. The fuel economy is what I expected for a hard charging muscle car, but the ride is smooth and very comparable to luxury cars. Honestly, there is nothing I don't like about the car. If you're considering buying this car, I can assure you that you will not be disappointed. I have friends with the Camaro and Mustang, but the Challenger is by far the better car. It may not outperform those two, but the ride, comfort, and looks are much better. Thanks for reading!

I've had this car for about 8 months now and every day I can't wait to get in it and go to work. It's true what they say - people compliment me on it every week. Driving this car on I-75 is beyond any driving experience I've ever had. It has power galore and you can hear the HEMI rumble along at 1700 rpm @ 75mph while listening to your favourite music. Oh man, I could drive forever! Everyone loves it. As a 56-year-old engineer and former aircraft mechanic, I believe this car is engineering/design art at its finest. It does everything it was designed to flawlessly and thrills the drivers all the way. I have a friend who has owned almost every fast German import and on a trip, he kept saying, 'Awesome car, just awesome!'

After almost two years, I still enjoy driving this car. I have added many little things to make it my own, like new whiskers with S/E and Sequential lights, and chrome on the inside.

Man, I really love this car! My previous Nissan 370Z was just plain awful, with interior bits falling off it daily. This new Challenger is so much better. I especially love the exterior design, which is a huge improvement over the bland 'upside down bathtub 370'.

When you buy something, you always hope that it will be the best fit for you. However, in this case, the interior is uncomfortable, and the gas and brake pedals are too far to the left, which can cause discomfort during long drives. Additionally, the radio's touch screen is difficult to see in daylight, and there are a lot of blind spots. In my opinion, the Dodge Quality is not up to par with other brands. I would recommend looking at other options and test driving them. Personally, I would rank the Mustang as number one, followed by the Camaro, Genesis, and Challenger.

I read all the reviews and although I dismissed the bad ones, I now realize that I should have taken them to heart. It seems that some people don't want to admit they bought a lower quality product. Unfortunately, these cars can be a pain to deal with. There is a loud ticking noise coming from under the hood (the dealer claims it's the injectors), the transmission slips, and the car is already rusting underneath. Additionally, the low tire pressure light is always on, no matter what. I understand that some may not find this review helpful, but I believe it is important to share my experience with Dodge's quality (which, in my opinion, is subpar).

The car may not be the fastest, so it's important to exercise caution when pulling out. Additionally, it's worth noting that the car may experience a significant drop in value after leaving the lot. I personally had a negative experience when attempting to trade in my car with only 1500 miles, as I was offered significantly less than what I had paid for it. It's something to keep in mind when considering purchasing this car. Thank you for your time!
