ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-27
- VIN: 2C4RC1N74NR
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: The vehicle is equipped with multizone AC, and one day the REAR passenger AC system malfunctioned. This occurred during the heatwave period this summer. The AC would not turn off, after multiple attempts, neither through the infotainment screen nor the manual buttons. We tried all possible ways to turn it off and it would not. Furthermore, it was automatically set to high heat, and the temperature also could not be changed. It is available for inspection if needed. Our [XXX] child was the rear seat occupant at the time, and was on the verge of overheating. We took the vehicle to the dealership, explained the issue in detail, and also showed them the clear video evidence of the problem. Because the issue was intermittent, they did not inspect it nor repaired it because it was working fine in their possession. Manufacturer was also notified of the issue, and repeated the same dialogue as the dealer, which is, that they can not resolve it if they can not reproduce it. There were no warning codes, lights, or messages for this issue. After receiving the vehicle back from the dealer, unrepaired, the problem happened again the same day. It is now back at another dealer hoping to be repaired and the issue diagnosed/reproduced. This is making us very nervous if it happens again, during a freeway drive or a long road trip, our road safety and children's health is at risk. The dealership and manufacturer have not demonstrated urgency for this matter, and treat it as any other "intermittent" issue. They advised us to bring it back if it occurs again. Should we really be testing these diagnostics on the road with our children's safety or comfort at stake? Thank you for giving us the opportunity to bring this matter to your attention. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-10-19
- VIN: 2C4RC1BG0NR

- Summary: This vehicle is 2 years old. It died while I was away from home. It was diagnosed as needing two new batteries. This is the 3rd Chrysler vehicle that I have had to replace batteries in. One vehicle required two battery replacements. This is an ongoing issue, it has to be a known issue. There needs to be some accountability with Chrysler
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM

POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-23
- VIN: 2C4RC1S7XNR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: I was driving the vehicle in the middle lane of a 3-lane (one direction) interstate highway when a message appeared on the dashboard "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon," the check engine light turned on and the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate so it was extremely challenging to navigate to the side of the road safely through busy rush hour traffic. As the driver I had zero ability to accelerate the vehicle whatsoever, the gas pedal did absolutely nothing, which can lead to an accident on the highway due to other vehicles moving very quickly and not expecting a vehicle that is not at the right of the road to come to a stop. I brought the vehicle to the Chrysler Dealership where they initially stated this is a known issue and they would be replacing the transmission and that the transmission is under 10-year/unliminted miles warranty for this specific error (POA43 Driver Motor), however once the dealership spoke with Chrysler corporate, they indicated that they would simply be clearing the code and they returned the car to us. We were advised to bring the vehicle back when the error recurs. We opted to sell the vehicle immediately instead, because it it not safe to drive now, but unfortunately this means we are passing the problem on to another consumer as Chrysler refuses to fix the problem. The case number they assigned is Case #[XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: I was driving on the interstate with adaptive cruise control active. The gasoline engine was running. The vehicle suddenly made a "ding" sound, and the main driver screen displayed an error message "Stop Safely. The Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". The engine shut down and vehicle completely lost motive power. I had to rapidly change across three lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder while losing speed, where I eventually parked with the hazard lights on. As we sat parked on the shoulder, the driver screen screen also showed a red battery-shaped indicator in the upper left, and an orange speedometer with an exclamation point in the upper right.

POWER TRAIN,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-04
- VIN: 2C4RC1S7XNR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE
- Summary: While driving on major highway, A/C stopped blowing cold air. Out side temperature above 80 degrees. Engine light came on, and later quick warning to this effect" caution, car will shut off soon" And less than 15 seconds or so engine turned off and we LUCKILY coasted across lanes to the breakdown lane. That could have been disastrous! Car would not restart. After about an hour we were able to restart the car and driver again for maybe 30 minutes before AC shut off again. This time we made it to an unscheduled hotel. Next morning car was fine, ran fine to our destination.4 days later driving home. Temp above 80. Driving for more than 3 hours..same sequence; AC shuts off, Caution warning, engine shutdown.
FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-09-01
- VIN: 2C4RC1L73NR
- Components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: When driving on the interstate highway with about 70 mph a warning message “Service hybrid electric vehicle system” appeared. The high voltage battery charging level was less than 1%. About 30 minutes later, after exiting the highway, another warning message was displayed: “Stop Safely Vehicle will shut off soon”. After about 30s later the motive power was stopped and the car continued rolling. There was no propulsion power anymore, and I was only able to roll into the entrance of a parking lot. Luckily it was a relatively safe location where the vehicle came to a stop. I was alone in the car and was not in direct danger. The vehicle could not be restarted. I called a towing service, and the car was transported to a Chrysler dealership. The fault codes were read out. Chrysler Star recommended to replace a 350 A fuse. The dealership service team drove the car for more than 70 miles without being able to reproduce the fault after this repair. One day after collecting the car from the dealership I drove about 300 miles on the highway. After about 250 miles the warning message “Service hybrid electric vehicle system“ appeared. The high voltage battery charging level was less than 1%. When driving on the highway with about 55 mph, about 150 miles after the warning message appeared, the motive power stopped inadvertently without any warning. I felt a short impulse on the gas pedal, then while rolling at below 50 mph the message “Switch P to start engine“ was displayed. I managed to roll out from the 3rd lane from the right to the emergency stopping lane. It was a dangerous maneuver and I feared for the safety of my five family members traveling with me in the car as the oncoming traffic behind my car didn’t slow down even after switching on the hazard lights. The vehicle could not be restarted and I had to call a towing service to transport the vehicle to the nearest Chrysler dealership. Now I am waiting for the service team to start reading out the failure codes.
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-31
- VIN: 2C4RC1L71NR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: The vehicles transmission malfunctions causing the vehicle to lose complete power, now without warning. We are unable to accelerate and the vehicle comes to a sudden stop. This vehicle shuts down in the middle of the highway causing us to come to a complete stop while driving on the highway, also on back roads one lane roads, the vehicle completely shuts down causing us to block the road and becomes a hazard. This has been a continuous problem. This will now be the fifth time it has been to the repair shop for the same exact problem. It is covered under the warranty, however, when they fix it, it happens right away within two business days, again without warning causing us To be in danger and becomes a hazard anytime we drive the vehicle. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership service center many times. They also sent out an engineer from their company to inspect it. We now have no warning like before the problem occurs only after the vehicle loses power. This will be the third complaint I've filed for this same issue. after it's been "fixed and inspected" this last time.
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-28
- VIN: 2C4RC1N79NR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
- Summary: While driving, vehicle chimes and displays "Stop Safely Vehicle will Shut Off Soon." While brakes and steering remain available, throttle control is instantly gone and vehicle needs to be coasted to a safe stop. Upon powering off and waiting ~10 minutes, the vehicle will restart (with check engine light and "service charing system" displayed) and drive normally. This situation happened four times while attempting to make it back home safely (once on an interstate traveling ~70 mph, twice on a highway traveling ~55 mph, and once in town at ~30 mph). Thankfully all situations had adequate shoulder and understanding traffic, but with instant loss of power, the vehicle is incredibly dangerous.

- Summary: Driving down highway on a business trip. Van flashed on screen with message to pull over immediatley and showed a red turtle. This was dangerous as I was in the far left lane and had to quickly pull over. Then to sit on the side of the highway and wait for a tow truck. With my 3 children in the car, I did not feel safe. Vehicle was sent to dealer where the kept for 6 days and only reset the codes and told me it was good to go. This vehicle has a known defect in the transmission.
POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-10
- VIN: 2C4RC1S7XNR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
- Summary: Outside temperature was over 80 degrees, we were driving long distance on a highway. First the air conditioning failed. Then the "Remaining miles on battery" started to go up ( even though it had been a long time since we charged). When it got to about 12, we got a dashboard message that said "Engine shutting down, get to a safe place". We pulled over just in time as the engine did shut off, the shutdown happened in about 15 seconds. The car did not restart for at least 30 minutes. Message said something about "Check charging system". This happened repeatedly, leaving us in dangerous conditions on the side of the very busy highway. "Check Engine" light was on. At least once we had a message that said something about "Check Powertrain". One dealer checked the code on his computer, but could not help any further as they were too busy. He would not give us the paper with the code. We took the car to a dealer when we got home. The "Check Engine" light had turned off, but the dealer cannot find any problems with the car. It is a huge safety problem when your car shuts down with very little notice. We are afraid to drive the car now.
SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE PROBLEM

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-01
- VIN: 2C4RC1N71NR
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: We purchased a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid in Feb of 2024 that is still under full factory warranty. We had the vehicle serviced once for A/c issues and it's regularly scheduled 30k mile service in April and May. [XXX] our van had a. Catastrophic failure in Texas, where it has remained since June 1st. The deep cycle hybrid battery overheated, making it inoperable. They have replaced the deep cycle hybrid battery twice-those batteries run 15-16k$, plus the additional parts and labor. Stellantis customer service promised rental reimbursement for the 2 vehicles we had to rent to continue our trip to Arizona. Then they declined to reimburse for both. They also stated they would pay for rentals ongoing while our van was in Texas and after we rented a van for two additional weeks, refused to pay for that. We requested a buyback at week 7 and that was denied. Two weeks ago, they stated the van was repaired and it sat in Texas while the dealership argued with Stellantis customer service about who was responsible for returning our van. Finally chrysler agreed to ship it to us and while the area manager was driving the van to the loading point for the shipping company, it had the same catastrophic failure. Chrysler had it towed to a different dealership in Texas and that dealership says they are going to start over and hopefully they can diagnose the issue fully, but they will have to replace the battery for a. 3rd time, totaling 4 batteries in 3 months or 64k$..The vehicle purchase price was 42k$. We purchased extensive extended warranties. We put down 24,500$ in cash and trade. We have since found out that a dealer in New Jersey put this car back on the market after they knew there was something wrong with it and made it someone else's problem. The selling dealership had no way of knowing the vehicle battery would overheat in the summer, as they purchased it from auction in November and sold it to us in Feb. POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-17
- VIN: 2C4RC1L77NR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
- Summary: While driving on the interstate, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration without warning. With several 18 wheelers having to brake and swerve behind us, we had to navigate onto the shoulder of the interstate. We had to wait on the side of the interstate for an hour for a tow truck to take us to the nearest dealership. We took the car into the dealership and they kept it for several days and then reported that the car just needed a new battery (12v, not hybrid). I expressed concern with the dealership and later after contacting Chrysler that a dead battery shouldn't cause the car to suddenly lose acceleration while driving, because that is an obvious safety risk, but was told again it was just a dead battery. I also received no invoice from the dealership and was told that it would be emailed to me as soon as they could since a cyberattack had made them unable to issue invoices.
POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-15
- VIN: 2C4RC1S75NR
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: We were driving on the highway when we got a warning to pull over safely as the vehicle will shut down soon. The accelerator became unresponsive, and the vehicle began losing power. This has happened a number of times and we took it into the dealer who replaced the transmission. However, on various social media sites, it has been reported that this has been happening to many many people. This is an extremely dangerous situation for so many people unaware of the potential. As I understand it, they replace the transmission with a like transmission. The problem is not actually being solved. They are simply offering a short term fix with the potential for it to happen again. It is reported by others that their second transmission has done the same thing. Below is one example of a social media post where others have claimed the same issue. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

- Summary: My vehicle is in perfect shape with no body damage and fewer than 28,000 miles. Today I was at a very busy intersection and when the car attempted to restart , it suddenly decided that my hood was open and it would not restart. It left me stranded. I ended up thinking quickly and pulling the hood latch exiting my vehicle and pushing the hood down. The vehicle it has the feature that stops the engine when I stop at a stop light. I do not think that the hood was open. I had it in for service over a month ago, that would have been the last time that anyone opened the hood. I was stranded, had to exit my vehicle in a very high traffic area. Luckily, the car restarted when I tried again. This default position is very dangerous. I turned off the feature that shuts off the engine at a stop. I understand a warning that the hood is open, but I do not understand stopping the vehicle from starting and placing the driver in a very dangerous position

We absolutely love our 2021 Pacifica! It's incredibly comfortable for our family of four, and the AWD Pinnacle handles great in the snow. While we have noticed a minor issue with the low gear not functioning properly, we still highly recommend this car. It's important to note that the low gear works more like an L4 than an L1, so it may not be suitable for those planning to use it in the mountains or in need of a reliable low gear. However, we have found that it still performs well in most situations. We hope that Chrysler will address this issue soon, but in the meantime, we are still very happy with our purchase.

Congratulations on your new 2021 Pinnacle in Ocean Blue! It's great to hear that you were able to take advantage of the $7,500 federal tax credit. I understand that you traded in a 2018 Toyota Avalon, which is also a fantastic highway car with impressive fuel efficiency. However, I can see why you would prefer an SUV or van for easier entry and exit, especially as you get older. The Pacifica sounds like a wonderful choice, with its smooth ride and impressive electric mileage. I'm glad to hear that the seats are comfortable and visibility is good, and that the adaptive cruise control worked well on your recent road trip. Overall, it sounds like you made a great purchase and I hope you continue to enjoy your new van!

Wow, it sounds like you made the perfect choice with your Pacific! It's not often you find a mini van, SUV, van, or sedan with a 6 cylinder engine, but the Pacific has it all - style, luxury, and power. Your custom black out package with black leather interior, black window tint, and black rims & trims sounds amazing! The stow & go and rubber mat are great additions too, and it's wonderful to hear that it drives like a dream. Even in tough weather conditions, the Pacific has proven to be a reliable and safe choice for you and your family. The heated seats and steering wheel are a great touch, especially for those with fibromyalgia. It's clear that you love driving this vehicle, and the remote start and doors make your life so much easier with your two large dogs. It's fantastic that you were able to purchase a warranty that lasts longer than your loan, and the fact that the dealership is honest and fair is a huge plus. Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Audobon Chrysler in Henderson, Kentucky!

First, let's compare the features of the 2017 and 2021 models. In 2017, there was no radio turn on/off button, so whenever you turned on the car, the radio would come on loudly, which could be a problem if you had sleeping kids in the car. Thankfully, the engineers have finally added this feature to the 2021 model. Another issue with the 2017 model was that you could lock the car without any alert, even if your doors were open. This could be a problem if you have kids who might accidentally leave the doors or windows open. I can't tell you how many times we left our door open at night and had our neighbors call us. Unfortunately, this issue has not been fixed in the 2021 model. However, both models have great internal and external designs. It's worth noting that the 2nd row stow and go feature is not available for hybrid models. I've been driving the car for over a month now, and I have to say that getting 32 mpg seems unlikely. On my first drive, I got 20 miles and used 15 miles on the highway at around 65 mpg. I did get 30 miles once when I drove at an average of 35 mpg, turned off the AC, headlights, and even the screen and dashboard lights. I've given up on charging it daily and am waiting for warmer weather to see how the EV performs. I haven't tried the hybrid mode yet, but once I get the exact numbers, I'll share them. One great advantage of this car is that you can barely hear the engine, even though it's a V6. This is a significant improvement over the loud Sienna. Lastly, the 7.5K EV Tax Credit makes this car much more affordable when compared to other brands.

I recently rented a brand new Pacifica for a trip from San Diego to LA in 2023. Opting for the hybrid option made a significant difference in the van's performance, with much-improved gas mileage and a more responsive feel. The option to drive 35-40 miles on battery power was also a welcome feature. While the suspension may be a bit soft or bouncy for some, the infotainment system worked well without any issues once I figured out the layout. I also appreciated the turn-tracking rear gear guidelines and the in-cabin rear mirror, which allowed me to see all passengers clearly. The Pacifica also had a sunglasses holder over the rearview mirror and a heated steering wheel, which I found particularly useful in the North East. However, I cannot yet speak to the reliability of the vehicle. Overall, I found the Pacifica to be a good car with strong points, such as a powerful engine and ample space in the rear seats. Compared to my daily driver, a 2021 Sienna, the Pacifica had some areas that were inferior, such as excessive road noise, a flimsy steering feel, and jerky and unreliable adaptive cruise control.I found that I had to keep my foot over the brake all the time, as the car tended to accelerate towards the car in front more than once. Additionally, when trying to maintain a safe distance, it tended to accelerate and slow down instead of keeping pace. I noticed that there are two cruise control activation buttons: one for regular cruise and one for Adaptive cruise. I'm not sure why this is necessary. The cruise control activation screen is a bit sluggish, which made me want to press the button multiple times. In the back, the cup holders are shallow and excessively wide, causing regular water bottles to fall out. The center console is also dysfunctional, and the nickel and dime coin holders seem unnecessary. The rotary gear switch, while maybe cool for some fancy vehicles, is located near the volume knob, which caused me to almost confuse it a few times. The multimedia system has some issues as well. Android Auto does not go into night (dark) mode, which can be borderline dangerous as the screen remains super bright and can blind the driver after dawn. The Bluetooth/USB Android Auto feature is also flaky, as the head unit keeps losing connection for no apparent reason and requires force reconnect. A few times, it even failed to charge the phone while on the USB connection port.

We have a 2121 hybrid Pacifica. Although it was good initially, we started having problems with the chips/charging system while on our way home from vacation. About every 15 miles, it would just die, and we would have to pull over on the side of the road. After waiting a few minutes, the engine would restart, and we would go about another 15-20 miles before it would happen again. Needless to say, it took forever to get home, and we were worried we wouldn't even make it! When we attempted to make a service appointment, we were disappointed to find out that the first available appointment was one month away, despite the vehicle being under full warranty. We were without the ability to use the vehicle for a month. We got it in, and they supposedly fixed the problem. However, four months later, while driving in town, it started doing the same thing. It would just die while driving the vehicle, and we would have to pull over on the side of the road and let it sit for a few minutes before it would restart. When we called to make an appointment, we were disappointed to find out that the first available appointment was another four weeks away. We asked them what they were doing to fix this problem, but they had no solution. We also asked what we should do if this happens again while on vacation, and they said to take it to the nearest dealership. We were worried that it would take them a full month to even look at it. As a result, we are now scared to take this van very far at all. We will be getting rid of it as soon as we have the finances to do so and buy a reliable minivan, perhaps from Toyota or Honda. While we do not recommend this vehicle and the service on dealerships (or lack of it) to anyone, we hope that our experience will help others make informed decisions.

After owning my 2021 Chrysler Pacifica (Plug-in Hybrid Limited) for almost a year, I can confidently say that while the concept of the Pacifica is great, the execution has been subpar. Despite the car's excellent plug-in feature, comfortable interior, and convenient charging ports, I have experienced no less than 5 warranty issues, including a battery/charging issue that left me stranded in the middle of the street. Additionally, the window shades were installed backwards in one part of my car and multiple dealers have been unable to fix them. The backseat screens are outdated and difficult to use, with the only reliable function being playing DVDs. While the Pacifica has its positives, the numerous issues I have faced make me regret my purchase and I would not buy this car again. The Google Chromecast has been difficult to use on the HDMI port, and its placement in the minivan is inconvenient. Unfortunately, my minivan has recently stopped being able to charge, and I have experienced multiple issues with the battery/charging system. Despite the long warranty, it has been a frustrating experience to have to bring in my minivan for repairs, as it takes weeks for the dealerships to even look at the issue. This is due to a shortage of technicians who can work on hybrids. As a result, I have been without my minivan for a significant amount of time, which has been inconvenient for my family. While I understand that these issues may be common with hybrids, it has been a frustrating experience. I hope to find a dealership that can resolve these issues in a more timely manner.I have always owned Hondas for the family car and never had warranty issues. When we eventually needed service, it was promptly provided. However, my recent experience with my Chrysler minivan has been frustrating and has led me to consider selling it and purchasing a different vehicle. While I had hoped that the minivan would be a joy to own, its frequent malfunctions have made it clear that it is not worth the $60,000 price tag for only 90% availability.

I've been having some trouble with the slider doors and hatch closing on me while I'm loading and unloading my kids and things. They push against me pretty hard before they finally decide something is obstructing the path and open back up. This could be dangerous, especially for children. Additionally, the radio seems to change stations on its own, which can be frustrating. The gear knob also goes back to R when you put it in park, which can be confusing. The driver settings haven't been very useful for my husband and me, as we still have to manually move our seats even though we've set them to memory. We got this van because we transport our grandson, who is in a wheelchair. However, when the back seats are stowed, the floor is unlevel, causing the wheelchair to rock when stopping. Finally, I've noticed that the A/C doesn't come on with Remote start, even though it's set to

Hi there! I noticed that your hybrid battery heater needs to be replaced. Just a quick tip: when your car goes into 'Gas/Oil Refresh Mode', make sure to add 4 gallons of gas. After that, it will revert back to hybrid mode. By the way, I usually keep my Pacifica around half full unless I'm going on a trip. Let me know if you have any questions!

Despite only having 3530 miles on it, my Chrysler died unexpectedly in a parking lot. After taking it to the dealer for 3-1/2 days, they claimed there was nothing wrong with it, leaving me feeling frustrated and uncertain about the car's reliability. As someone who travels across the country twice a year, I need a dependable vehicle. Unfortunately, the Chrysler did not meet my needs and I ultimately sold it at CarMax. I have since purchased a new Honda Odyssey, which I am confident will meet my needs. While buying the Chrysler was an expensive mistake, I am now confident in my new vehicle choice.
