Common 2013 Jaguar Xf problems
The 2013 Jaguar XF is known for its supercharger troubles and engine dying while driving, making it the most problematic year for this model. These issues can lead to a significant expense and inconvenience for owners. For instance, supercharger troubles may require costly repairs, and an engine dying while driving can pose a safety risk.
In addition to supercharger and engine problems, the 2013 Jaguar XF has been reported to have issues with the media system not working and cracked wheels
. These problems can affect the overall driving experience and may require costly repairs.
Another common complaint among Jaguar XF owners is touchscreens that freeze, go blank, or get stuck on the Jaguar logo
. Reprogramming or replacing the module is the long-term solution to this problem, but it can be costly.
Corrosion of the connectors may also cause the overhead console lights to stop illuminating, but the switches and buttons should remain functioning if this happens
. This issue can be resolved with a revised seal, but taking it to a specialist may add cost to the job.
Window regulators can also fail, especially on the driver's door, and may require replacement
. This issue can affect both engines offered in the XF X250 generation, including the 2.7-litre TDV6, 3.0-litre TDV6, 3.0-litre V6 and 3.0-litre Supercharged V6, as well as the 5.0-litre V8 and 5.0-litre V8 Supercharged
Finally, a technical bulletin was announced by Jaguar in 2014 for 2010 to 2012 model year production vehicles equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 engine, as the fuel gauge can return faulty readings
. This issue can affect the accuracy of fuel consumption and may require professional diagnosis and repair.
In summary, the 2013 Jaguar XF has several common problems, including supercharger and engine issues, media system and wheel problems, touchscreen malfunctions, window regulator failures, and fuel gauge inaccuracies. These issues can be costly and inconvenient, and may require professional diagnosis and repair.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-05-19
- VIN: SAJWA0ES6DP
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: To the best of my ability id like to explain why my car does not operate . i have taken my car to two jaguar dealership and have talked to Rocco' s European car repair shop as well and the all say that what is defective with my car is the central junction box. When I asked them all as to why this does not function they all said its a known problem with the car specifically due to "water ingress" leaking from the windshield wiper pump and on to the underside of the Central junction box and my wires are corroded and cause electrical failure as the say water and electricity are not a safe combination. with this malfunction my car no longer starts . Yes of course my car is available for inspection and it has been confirmed by both Hennessey Jaguar of Atlanta and Jaguar south Atlanta both have provided documentation as to the necessity to change the central junction box and both dealership's are not privately owned and not connected to one another yet they state the same reason as to why my car will not function. Yes my 2013 jaguar is a dangerous vehicle to drive as the car doors spontaneously opened and closed on their own the interior lights turned on and off and some other malfunctions engaged even when not engaged to do so i believe the breaking system also flashed traction control turns on even though i didn't ask it to be turned on. i am afraid that my car with water in the junction box could lead to an electrical fire as told to me by numerous mechanics Yes my car was inspected by both dealerships in Atlanta and both diagnosed the problem and being the "CJB." The symptoms initially started with my doors mysteriously locking and unlocking and then other electrical problems occurred after that. These symptoms first appeared in 2021 and there were messages that flashed on the dash message especially one that said see owners handbook i may not be sure of the wording but that's essentially the message . this is my best assessment of the problems.
ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-02-01
- VIN: SAJWJ0EF5D8
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: The car employs a start/stop system to shut the engine when stopped. When it restarts the engine, the idle speed drops to about 400 RPM (half normal idle) and surges when it recovers. It has also stalled several times. I've asked the dealership to fix this, but when at the dealer, the system would not shut the engine so they have not verified the issue. The first safety issue happens if the driver is not expecting the surge resulting in sudden acceleration. The second issue happened when the car stalled at an intersection with other cars trying to get by. This has happened many times since I purchased the car in 2015. The stop/start function stopped working for a period of time when the primary battery was older and weak. Since replacing the batter, this is happening more frequently now. I did find this issue on KBB's website, but not on yours https://www.kbb.com/jaguar/xf/2013/recall/

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-06-15
- VIN: SAJWJ0EFXD8

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-07-17
- VIN: SAJWJ0EF9D8
- Components: FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: I LATELY NOTICED YOUR JAGUAR RECALL FOR MODELS XF OF 2013. IT CONCERNS FUEL PUMP IMMEDIATE SHUTOFF WHEN THERE IS EXCESS FUEL PUMP AMPERAGE AND A FUSE TRIPS TO SHUT OFF THE FUEL PUMP. IT CANNOT BE RESET UNTIL THE FUSE COOLS DOWN, AT LEAST 20 MINUTES IS REPORTED. MY CAR'S VIN NUMBER IS APPARENTLY OVER THE SPECIFIED COVEERGE PERIOD SO #15V091000 RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY 2013 CAR. AT THE TIME IN LOOKING FOR ANSWERS I FOUND NONE. MY EVENT: THIS PAST SUMMER I WAS DRIVING TO SUDBURY, MA AT 10 P.M. MY ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED ON THE FULL SPEED AND MORE NARROW CURVING ENTRANCE TO THE MASS PIKE {FROM ROUTE 91 IN CONNECTICUT}! I WAS STUCK THERE FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR, EVERY SO OFTEN TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR; TO NO AVAIL. IT FINALLY COST ME $400 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE SUDBURY JAGUAR DEALER AND LEFT OVERNIGHT FOR MORNING ACTION. SURPRISE, THE GARAGE MECHANIC THE NEXT MORNING TURNED THE KEY AND THE CAR STARTED IMMEDIATELY. IT HAD ALWAYS STARTED BEFORE THE COSTLY INCIDENT AND HAS STARTED IMMEDIATELY EVER SINCE. BUT THERE I WAS ON A CURVE AT NIGHT WITH 60 MPH+ TRUCKS AND CARS PASSING ME EVERY FEW SECONDS! AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT WAS ABOUT 25 MINUTES BEFORE A STATE PATROL TROOPER SHOWED UP WITH HELPFUL BLINKING YELLOW LIGHTS. AS A MECHANICAL ENGINEER AND HOBBY AUTO MECHANIC THERE SEEMS LITTLE DOUBT YOUR FUEL PUMP RECALL ISSUE SHOULD HAVE APPLIED TO MY 2013 JAGUAR XF. APPARENTLY MY REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP WAS A COMPLETELY USELESS EXPENSE AS THE CAR HAD ONLY ROUGHLY 50,000 MILES ON IT. LUCKY TO BE ALIVE, [XXX] REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *CC

FOLLOWING INSTALLATION, ABOUT 2,000 MILES INTO THEIR USE, 3 OF THE 4 TIRES HAD THE TREAD SEPARATE FROM THE INTERNAL BELTS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VIBRATE, PULL TO ONE SIDE AND ULTIMATELY WOULD HAVE LED TO A COMPLETE TIRE FAILURE. NEITHER THE SELLER NOR THE MANUFACTURER TOOK ANY ACTION TO INSPECT, REPLACE OR REFUND THE TIRES OR THEIR PURCHASE PRICE. THE FACT IS THAT THESE TIRES WERE/ARE DEFECTIVE AND COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY TO ME, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE ABRUPTLY FAILED DURING DRIVING.

This is my 5th Jaguar - and I love it. I was a bit hesitant going from an XKR to an XF - but the ride is excellent, great acceleration, and very good handling. I'm so glad I chose the XF!

I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share my experience with my 2011 XF Supercharged. I purchased it in June 2011 and I have absolutely no regrets. It has been such a reliable car that I have only had to take it in for its annual checkup at 10K miles. I have not experienced any mechanical or electrical issues at all. The car has more power than I can use 99% of the time, but I always look forward to that 1% when I can give it all she's got. The powerhouse 470HP Supercharged V8 is truly impressive. I wasn't even planning on buying a new car, but when the dealer parked it and kept it running, I couldn't resist the temptation of that purr from the quad exhaust. Thank you for letting me share my experience with you!

I researched luxury cars in the 50-60K range, including models from MB, BMW, Lexus, Audi, Jaguar, and more. After test driving the Jag and the Audi, I found the Jag to be truly exceptional. As one automotive reviewer put it, this car is like the beautiful cheerleader with a naughty side. When you step on the gas, it just goes and goes and keeps going. Plus, everywhere I go, people have to do a double take because it's such a stunning car. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this car already has everything I need, and more. In my opinion, the German counterparts could learn a thing or two from the Brits. When I priced out a BMW and MB that started around 50K, by the time I added all the extras (which was just about everything), the car was well over 60K.

My wife and I are really enjoying our new luxury car! She loves it so much that she doesn't want to get out of it. I, on the other hand, only get to ride on the weekends, but it's been a great purchase so far!

I have to say that this car has exceeded my expectations so far. Coming out of a 2011 BMW 535I, I find that the Jag handles much better. I have the 3.0 AWD and I am very impressed with the power and handling. In my opinion, this is an absolutely beautiful machine. It's tight, taught and perfectly balanced. I recommend getting the premium package at least - you will not be disappointed. However, it's worth noting that this car has a sportier handling than the BMW (even though I had the uhp package). The ride is a little firmer than the prementioned cars, such as Lexus, 535, A6, etc. So, if you are looking for a cushy ride, this may not be the best option. Nonetheless, the ride is excellent in my opinion.

I always dreamed of owning a Jaguar since I was a little kid. However, I have been quite disappointed with my recent purchase. Unfortunately, the brakes squeak all day long, which can be quite annoying. Additionally, the cost of replacing them every 10k miles can be quite expensive, ranging from $600 to $1,000. The electronics are also not up to par, and it can be frustrating to deal with. Although it's hard to give specifics, it feels like it's running on an old version of Windows 98. Lastly, I wouldn't recommend getting satellite radio installed as it tends to go out every 3 minutes. Despite these issues, I still appreciate the sleek design of the car.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with this car that I bought in August of this year. It's a beautiful car, but unfortunately, it's been in the shop twice already. I've been having some trouble with the car holding a charge, and even after just 3 or 4 days of not being driven, it won't start. The dealership has been trying to figure it out, but so far, no luck. Some of the possible causes they've given me don't really make sense. If you're considering buying this car, I would recommend asking others who have one before making a decision. Thanks for listening!

UPDATE: Finally got rid of the car!!! The car had developed leaks through the windshield and for several months, Jaguar kept fixing and replacing many parts of the car, claiming one thing after another was leaking. After 6 months of trying to fix the leak, they finally looked at the windshield and confirmed that the leaks were indeed coming from there. By then, the car had gotten so badly damaged due to water that my insurance company took the car off our hands, and we didn't have to go through the hassle of selling it. During all this time, the dealership provided us with a loaner - initially a small Hyundai, and then after I made some noise, an equivalent Jag. Often we waited days or weeks to get simple repairs done. They would give me an appointment, and then take 3 days just to take a look at the car, and then wait weeks for parts to arrive. In fact, our insurance company had better follow-ups with us on the repairs than the dealership did. I finally had to meet with the GM of the dealership to discuss the situation, and even sent them an invoice for MY time lost coming in to the dealership and chasing after them. While we loved driving the Jag, the experience of owning one was not worth it. We ended up buying a Porsche and a Tesla, and it has been an amazing experience - great customer service, and fantastic drives. The Porsche is better than the Tesla, though the Tesla has its plusses. OLD REVIEW: We've now owned this car, bought new, for 3.5 years, and have under 18,000 miles on it. By now, a significant portion of the car has been replaced by Jag - including several internal lights, the entire fuel system, parts of the audio system, and most recently all the carpeting and even the front seats.....and they're still not done!!! There's still more they need to work on. And even that's not the worst part. What is absolutely the worst is the level of customer service.Take the car in for work, and then I have to follow up for an update. It typically takes 6-8 weeks to get replacement parts, and involves several follow ups. It's surprising that they are still in business.

I have experienced several issues with my Jaguar XF, including problems with the water pump, fuel pump, computer system, trunk release, motor mounts, and transmission mounts. Despite spending thousands of dollars on repairs, I have been disappointed with the overall performance of the vehicle. However, I am confident in my decision to not purchase another Jaguar in the future. It is worth noting that my previous 03 S Type was a perfect car.

The electronics were designed by a cave troll. However, despite some of its quirks, the iPod has an impressive capacity of 4000 songs. Once plugged in, the touch screen takes over control of the unit. Although there is no alpha search on the touch screen, the iPod does have a search function that unfortunately cannot be accessed. If you're in the mood for some ZZ Top, you'll have to scroll through the entire catalog 20 songs at a time. According to three dealers, this is just the way they are. One downside is that you can't use the navigation system while moving, which sets it apart from most of the competition. However, you can still check your voicemail messages or scroll through your iPod on the touch screen while going 80 mph. It's important to keep safety in mind while driving. Additionally, the suspension can be a bit flexible, which may not be to everyone's liking. Overall, the iPod has some unique features that make it worth considering.
