Common 2007 Chrysler Pacifica problems
Based on complaints from owners of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, several common problems have been reported:
- Carbon Buildup in Valves: A common issue affecting the 3.5-liter and 4.0-liter V6 engines from 2004-2008 is carbon buildup in the valves. This buildup can trigger the check engine light, indicating misfiring cylinders and causing the vehicle to stutter while maintaining a steady speed. Owners have reported that cleaning the combustion chamber and potentially updating the valve spring retainers can resolve this issue.
- Static Discharge and Loose Wire Connections: Problems related to static discharge or loose wire connections have been reported, affecting features like power seat memory, seat heaters, and adjustable pedals. This issue can lead to intermittent and random problems with these features. The resolution often involves revised seat modules that resist the effects of static discharge.
- Water Leaks: Water leaks from the HVAC case not sealing at the bulkhead have been reported as a common problem with the Chrysler Pacifica. This issue can lead to water entering the vehicle, potentially causing damage and discomfort for passengers.
- Miscellaneous Issues: Other reported problems include misalignment of drive belt pulleys causing noise, software updates needed for the powertrain control module, and motor cradle rusting/corrosion. These issues can contribute to additional maintenance costs and potential safety concerns for owners of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica.
These common problems highlight various mechanical and electrical issues that owners of the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica have faced. Addressing these concerns promptly and with the appropriate repairs can help ensure the longevity and reliability of this vehicle.

This vehicle has been well maintained and has been Safety Inspected by the same dealership in 2021 & 2022 and never advised there was a problem with the Engine Cradle. Now in 2021, three engine mounts were replaced to correct clunking noises when accelerating, but again there was never an advisement of a potential Engine Cradle Rot. The vehicle had 127, 640 miles on it when it was inspected by the dealer. The results were reported to Chrysler Customer Care via email and by phone but no response as of today.

SUSPENSION,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-03-04
- VIN: 2A8GM68X47R
- Components: SUSPENSION,ENGINE
- Summary: I am requesting that NHTSA issue a recall for the known defect and serious safety hazard for the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. These vehicles need to be recalled effective immediately and removed from our highways. The engine cradle rot poses a a risk for accidents and the manufacturer is privy to these problems and had legal action taken against them for a similar notification of different years. The 2007 models should be recalled as well. Please issue the recall and do the right thing. Who knows, you may save someone’s life who is unaware of the dangerous equipment they are driving. Not to mention the manufacturer needs to either to buy back the vehicles, pay for the costly repairs and or compensate the owners who are unable to drive their vehicle or are forced to purchase another vehicle because Chrysler and those in authority have failed and refused to act with integrity and take action to make the recall. There are countless consumers who complain of the same problems of cradle rot, but nothing has been done. Please note the following:l, which lists the court case and consumer complaints: https://www.casemine.com/judgement/us/59145d2dadd7b049341f482e https://www.carproblemzoo.com/chrysler/pacifica/frame-rust-problems.php Please provide a follow up with what action you are going to take since Chrysler refuses to issue a recall and a representative stated, the recall would need to come from NHTSA and will not do the right thing. Thank you.

- VIN: 2A8GM68X07R
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The car has a lot of dangerous problems. For one I had my truck diagnosed and code came back as gas cap. Then it was electric problems after the replacement of the gas cap. Check engine light was still on. So I went for another diagnostic now is coming up power train. STEERING,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-07-30
- VIN: 2A8GM78X87R
- Components: STEERING,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: After fueling, especially if the take is full. The engine will die several times in the first 5 or more miles driven. Of course, this also means no power steering. You may be turning at an intersection, on a freeway or just traveling on a surface street. Still, you are without power and no power steering putting the car and occupants in danger. Usually, putting the car in neutral and starting gets you going again, at least until the next event. We have had as many a 5 such events on a 4.5 mile drive home form the gas station. This has now progressed. The last fill up, the nozzle cut of several times and restart over and over to finally fill the take. We knew it could take more fuel, Ultimately it took on 15 Gallons. This time, even after the second day and about 20 miles on the car it will still die at random, especially at idle, say at a stop light. Also with this phenomenon, when the gas gouge gets to just below a half of a tank reading, it may suddenly drop to (E) empty. This is not a good feeling, even though we know it is a bogus reading. The gauge may or may not read correctly at about a half tank the next time the car is started, after an overnight rest. We suspect this may relate to the saddle bag fuel tank system. Currently the check engine light is on, solid, not flashing. However, this problem after a fill up has occurred when there was no check engine light active. Our mechanic is aware of the problems and we are scheduling a visit again and will make sure he is aware of all of these issues. Safety issue, yeah, like suddenly rear-ended or t boned with loss of power and almost impossible steering without power steering. Thankfully, the emergency flashers work fine.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-11-05
- VIN: 2a8gf68x27r
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The engine cradle has rotted and engine started to fall out. It took months to find a replacement, now I am told the bolts needed are discontinued and no one at Chrysler or Mopar can tell me what size bolts & nuts are needed to put it together. The control arm came but not bolts or nuts. The engine carriage came, but no nuts & bolts. So, over $1k in parts, looks like it will need to go to the crushers for a loss of $2500 (with cost of purchase). FYI one guy one ebay is selling 1 bolt for $105.00 plus shipping.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-06-13

The local dealer was contacted and provided an estimate for the repair. Due to the cost of the repair, the manufacturer was notified of the failure however, offered no assistance since there was no recall on the vehicle. The contact eventually took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to repair the headlight and referred him to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.
ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-05-17
- VIN: 2A8GM68X27R
- Components: ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Several Times while driving and often when turning at a slow speed the Pacifica stalls. This is a common problem with no help from Chrysler. No codes come up and several mechanics and dealers have tried to fix the problem to no avail and at a lot of expense. In checking this problem out on the internet, many, many people have complained about this problem because it is highly dangerous and puts peoples lives at risk! Why doesn't Chrysler investigate and find the reason and provide a fix or why won't the NHTSA look into this problem. It also is known to happen to 2005 and 2006 Pacificas.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the car I recently purchased from the Chrysler dealership in Tupelo, MS. I had to take a road trip to get back home, and I must say, the ride was incredibly comfortable for the 3.5 hour journey. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the car's gas mileage was 23.8 mpg, even while driving between 70-75mph. On my second trip to visit my in-laws, I was able to achieve an average gas mileage of 24 mpg. This car was previously leased from Chrysler and had 20,137 miles on it, but the fit and finish are still excellent. Although there is some road noise, it's only moderate, which I believe is due to the type of tires. The power is impressive, and the transmission shifts cleanly. The car came with about 90% of all options, and we even had the Factory DVD installed. We've taken it on two road trips so far, and we haven't had any issues. Thanks for listening!

As a travelling Sales Rep, I have put 30,000 miles on my Pacifica since 10/09. Despite occasional groaning in the driver side front end when turning right and hard shifting of the transmission, I can confidently say that it has been a slightly above average car. The interior and ride are still impressive. Thank you for your attention. William

Hi there! I've been the proud owner of my Pacifica for almost two years now and I'm happy to say that it has never had to go back to the dealer. With regular maintenance, it drives like a dream! I use it for everything and it averages about 22 mpg (not too many long hauls in Hawaii). It gets up to speed quickly and stops quickly and straight. I have experienced the chatter of the trans between 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 1st at slow speed, but Chrysler had a quick and easy fix for it with a flash to the engine computer. I haven't taken it to the dealer as I don't want it to end up worse than it started. Unfortunately, Pacificas aren't that prevalent here, so I haven't had the opportunity to speak to other owners. Let me know if you have any questions!

Congratulations on leasing your second Pacifica! It's great to hear that Chrysler has made all the necessary changes to improve the car since the 05 model. The bigger engine, back-up camera, and additional features make an already great car even better. The lease programs for this car are unbeatable, allowing you to drive a $41,000 car for under $600 a month on a two-year lease with 15k miles per year and no money down. This is truly a fantastic deal for a lot of car!

The title of my comments says it all. I completely agree that these cars are underrated. Despite Chrysler's lack of marketing, I have found this car to be my favorite among the 40 others I have owned, including an S class Mercedes and a 540 BMW. It is impressive how fuel-efficient it is, considering its weight of 2 1/2 tons, getting 30+ mpg on the highway and about 20 in the city. I recently took a trip to New England and the miles were effortless, even at my age of over 60 years old! I highly recommend this car to anyone.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 07 Pacifica that I bought in 2014 with 43,000 miles on it. Over the past 6 years, I've had to invest over $7,000 in repairs, including broken motor mounts, struts, air conditioner, front end work, and a leaking rear differential. Unfortunately, I'm now experiencing issues with my transmission at 114,000 miles. Despite these challenges, I'm grateful for the time I've had with my Pacifica. Thanks for listening!

The buying experience was terrible due to multiple issues with the transmission, front end, reversing, and AWD. Despite the lack of assistance from the dealerships, I am currently pursuing a Lemon law case with the vehicle.

I've been driving my Pacifica for two years now, and while I love the spacious and comfortable interior, I've had some trouble with the gas tank. Unfortunately, it's been completely replaced twice and still doesn't work properly. It takes a frustratingly long time to pump even a small amount of gas, and despite my concerns, Chrysler has only issued a 'technical flag' and not a recall. Despite my love for the vehicle, I've decided to trade it in for a Ford, the only company that didn't take my taxpayer dollars and still showed a profit!

Since purchasing this car in 07, it has been in the shop over 20 times due to recurring issues. Despite having flight recorders installed, the problem of losing power and uncontrollable shaking while accelerating persists. We have already taken legal action against Chrysler and settled. As a result, we have lost faith in the dealership and would not consider purchasing a Chrysler again. We are currently exploring the option of selling the car, although it may result in a financial loss.
