Common 1994 Chrysler Concorde problems
The Chrysler Concorde, introduced in 1994, is known for its luxurious design and spacious interior. However, like any vehicle, it has its share of common problems that owners have reported over the years.
One of the most frequently reported issues is electrical problems. These issues can range from the interior lights blinking on and off, to the stereo switching between the CD player and radio in mid-song, to the air conditioner coming on despite a broken compressor. These problems can be particularly frustrating as they can be difficult to diagnose and repair, with two electrical mechanics failing to identify the problem in one reported case.
Another common problem with the Chrysler Concorde is corrosion of the AC evaporator core. This issue has been reported by 11 owners, indicating that it is a relatively widespread problem.
In addition to these specific issues, the Chrysler Concorde is known for its suspension design, which is described as a high science by one source. The suspension is designed to provide a smooth and comfortable ride, but it can be prone to losing alignment when hitting a curb, particularly in police service.
Other issues reported by owners include clock, radio, and A/C problems, which are to be expected in a car that is 19 years old. However, the engine is reported to be very reliable, with one owner reporting that it never used any oil in 20 years of service.
In summary, the Chrysler Concorde is known for its luxurious design and spacious interior, but it has its share of common problems, including electrical issues, corrosion of the AC evaporator core, and suspension alignment problems. Despite these issues, the engine is reported to be very reliable, making the Chrysler Concorde a popular choice for those seeking a reliable and comfortable vehicle.

- Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE FLOOR SHIFTER IGNITION-PARK INTERLOCK MAY FAIL AND ALLOW THE SHIFTER TO BE MOVED OUT OF THE PARK POSITION WITH THE KEY REMOVED. AN INOPERATIVE INTERLOCK MAY ALSO ALLOW THE KEY TO BE REMOVED WHEN THE SHIFTER HAS NOT BEEN PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION.
- Consequence: EITHER CIRCUMSTANCE MAY RESULT IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AWAY WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW LOAD-LIMITING PUSH ROD INTO THE FLOOR SHIFTER LEVER OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JUNE 14, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT DAIMLERCHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL RAIL O-RINGS AND REINFORCE THE OUTLET (PASSENGER) SIDE FUEL RAIL. VEHICLES SHOWING FUEL LEAKAGE ON THE OUTLET FUEL RAIL MUST HAVE THE OUTLET RAIL REPLACED WHICH INCLUDES CHANGING THE UPPER AND LOWER INJECTOR O-RINGS. HOWEVER, IF A VEHICLE IS LEAKING FUEL FROM THE O-RINGS OR FROM A CRACKED FUEL LINE, THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN INTO A DEALER TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

I really appreciate this car... but unfortunately, I had to rebuild the transmission at 60,000 miles and replace the entire air conditioning system at 88,000 miles, which cost me $1700. Additionally, I had to replace the water pump and brakes, and encountered other repairs that I didn't think should have been necessary. When everything was working, I really enjoyed this car... until the next issue arose.

Great job! This Chrysler model is truly impressive and exceeded my expectations. I think these full-size 'LH' sedans marked the start of a new era of quality design and construction at Chrysler.

My mother has a car just like it, so I went out and bought one too. I don't regret it one bit! They are very comfortable cars and have plenty of power if that's what you're after. Mine has all the options, so I really enjoy driving it, even on long journeys. The only downside is that the large engine isn't very economical.

There are many reasons to consider buying this car, even with 119, including its reliability, spaciousness, and fuel economy. It's great for hauling things and can even serve as a mobile garage. The original transmission has lasted me over 148,000 miles, and the only issue I've had was when the battery died. Maintenance costs have been very reasonable, averaging only $160 per year for oil, coolant, and other essentials, plus $300 for a set of new tires. Even high-end imports require new tires eventually. I change the oil twice a year with regular 10W-30 oil and replace the filter once a year. This car has never let me down. As a diehard fan, I can confidently say that my first and last car will be a Charger. Mopar really knows how to build them right. Thanks for the ride!

After Dad passed away, Mom decided to trade her Olds 98 for this car. She loves how easy it is to park and handle, and finds it to be a very comfortable car for long drives. Maintenance has been minimal, with the exception of having to replace the hood cylinders. It's also very fuel efficient, but still has plenty of power on the highway for Mom.

I really had mixed feelings about this car. Some days I loved it, while other days I hated it. Unfortunately, the repairs really took a toll on me. The air conditioner broke due to a design flaw, which ended up costing me over $1000 in parts and labor. The transmission was also useless after 100,000 miles, at least in town. However, on the highway, this car was amazing. It had plenty of power, comfortable seats, a great sound system, and all the bells and whistles. Even under heavy use and abuse, it held up okay for 5 years (I bought a 4-year-old car). I recently sold my 9-year-old Chrysler Concorde for $2500, which isn't too bad. However, this will be the last American car, short of a truck, that I will ever buy. The car rides like a pig on springs down the road.

Congratulations on your first used car after college! It's understandable to have high hopes for American manufacturers. However, it seems like you've had some trouble with your car. The distributor left you on the side of the road during rush hour, and there have been some issues with the torque converter locking up in reverse on cold mornings. The turn signals also seem to fail when it's cold or wet, and there have been some issues with the A/C, front tie rods, and climate control. It sounds like you've been able to manage the situation by backing into every parking space and running the car until it fails, which is impressive! If you ever need any assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help!

For as long as you've had it, you haven't experienced too many problems. It's a great, dependable car.
Ryan Howell 2024-06-21
Tranny is not a reliable car. It has constant heating and A/C problems, as well as endless suspension problems. It can be expensive to keep it running, which can be concerning for those who want to pass it down to their children. However, it's important to note that looks can be deceiving. Perhaps it's time to consider other options, such as a car from Tokyo.

1. Hi there! Just wanted to let you know that your air conditioning needs some repair. 2. Unfortunately, it looks like your transmission broke down and you had to take it to AAMCO in Centereach, NY. The repair cost was $2600, which is quite a lot. In the end, you had to discard the car. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
