2001 Chevrolet Venture problems

chevrolet logo

The Chevrolet Venture is a minivan produced by General Motors for the 1997 to 2005 model years. The Chevrolet Venture, along with most of its General Motors minivan siblings, was built at GM's Doraville, Georgia, assembly plant.

Use of name

The Venture name was first used on a 1988 Chevrolet concept car, in this case a full-sized four-door sedan more aerodynamic than the 1991-1996 Chevrolet Caprice.

History

The Venture was introduced in 1996 for the 1997 model year as a replacement for the radically styled Lumina APV. In the United States, it was also sold as the Oldsmobile Silhouette and the Pontiac Trans Sport, which was later renamed as the Pontiac Montana for 1999 (2000 in Canada). The Venture came in three trim levels, the base, LS, and LT. The base models of the Venture were short wheelbase models which came equipped with cloth upholstery, front bucket seats with fixed head restraints, a 2nd-row 2-passenger bench seat, and steel wheels. The LS came in both short and long wheelbases, and offered aluminum wheels, a varied seating configuration, adjustable head restraints, side airbags, power windows (optional on the base models), and a remote keyless entry system. The LT model was an upscale of the LS and was exclusively a long wheelbase model and offered a power driver seat (optional on the base and LS models), optional leather seats, a roof rack (optional on the base and LS models), and a driver side sliding door (optional on the base and LS models from 1997 to 1999). The anti-lock brakes were standard on all Ventures from 1996 to 2002, but became optional on the base models later on.

The Venture and its siblings were powered by GM's 3.4 L LA1 V6, rated at 180 hp (134 kW). After 1999, the engine was slightly redesigned to produce an extra 5 hp (4 kW), for a total of 185 hp (138 kW), and the alarm system for seatbelts, door ajar, low fuel, etc. have been changed. All Ventures used a four-speed automatic transmission. The Venture was one of the few minivans to have an 8-passenger seating configuration as an option when most minivans seated up to 7 passengers. In 2000, the driver side sliding door became standard on all trim levels, when the passenger side only sliding door models of minivans have rapidly fallen out of favor since the 1996 models of Chrysler minivans. The exterior was refreshed in 2001, a back-up alarm was added to indicate possible obstacles behind the vehicle, and all-wheel drive was introduced in 2002. Also for 2002 was a new steering wheel equivalent to the 2000-2005 Chevrolet Impala, replacing the steering wheel equivalent to the 1995-2001 Chevrolet Lumina. New for this generation, cabin air filters were installed, and the filters can be accessed from behind an access panel easily accessed from inside the glove compartment.

The optional 2-3-2 seating configuration was dropped in favor of the more conventional 2-2-3 and 2-3-3 seating configurations. The 2-3-3 was the standard for the Chinese-made Buick GL8, and a 10-seats arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration was used in a Chinese-made version of the Chevrolet Venture for export to the Philippines and Latin America (where it sold alongside the U.S. Venture) where 10-seaters are favored with lower taxes. Reviews and sales were generally lukewarm, especially about the relatively narrow cabin due to being designed for European roads. Models came in both short and long wheelbases, and with optional all-wheel drive. The third row bench seat was designed to fold flat (introduced for 2001 and available on LS and Warner Bros. models), but forming a higher floor unlike the Honda, Mazda and Nissan minivans that folded into a well behind the third row.

The Venture was replaced after 2005 by the Chevrolet Uplander, which was essentially a facelift with one long wheelbase configuration, and a longer nose which served chiefly to improve crush distance and styling more like an SUV. Only the long-wheelbase Venture was sold for 2005 in the US but the short-wheelbase was still offered in Canada. Production of the Chevy Venture ended on June 24, 2005.

Common 2001 Chevrolet Venture problems

The 2001 Chevrolet Venture has been reported to have various engine problems, with 47 complaints from owners. The most common issue is the intake manifold gasket failure, with 14 complaints. This problem can cause overheating, coolant leaks, and engine misfires. The intake manifold gasket is responsible for sealing the intake manifold to the engine block, ensuring the proper flow of air and fuel into the engine. When it fails, it can lead to significant engine damage if not addressed promptly.

Another engine problem reported is the blown head gasket, with three complaints. A blown head gasket can cause the engine to lose coolant or oil, leading to overheating and engine failure. The head gasket is a critical component that seals the engine block and cylinder head, preventing the coolant and oil from mixing. When it fails, it can cause significant engine damage, resulting in expensive repairs.

One complaint mentions that the crankshaft bearings fell apart, which can cause the engine to seize or fail. The crankshaft bearings support the crankshaft, allowing it to rotate smoothly. When they fail, it can cause significant engine damage, leading to expensive repairs.

Another issue reported is the engine stalling while driving, which can be dangerous and cause accidents. The engine stalling can be caused by various factors, including fuel delivery problems, ignition issues, or electrical problems.

A few complaints mention a whining sound upon acceleration, which can be caused by various issues, including transmission problems, engine problems, or drivetrain issues.

In addition to engine problems, the 2001 Chevrolet Venture has also been reported to have issues with the power window switches, transmission pressure control solenoid failure, and rear lights not working.

The power window switches may fail, causing the windows to stop working or operate intermittently. This problem can be frustrating and may require replacement of the switch or the window regulator.

The transmission pressure control solenoid may fail, causing erratic shifting or difficulty shifting. This problem can be caused by various factors, including low transmission fluid, dirty transmission fluid, or a faulty solenoid.

The rear lights may not work, which can be dangerous and cause accidents. This problem can be caused by various factors, including blown fuses, blown bulbs, or a faulty wiring harness.

In summary, the 2001 Chevrolet Venture has been reported to have various engine problems, including intake manifold gasket failure, blown head gasket, crankshaft bearings falling apart, engine stalling, and whining sound upon acceleration. Additionally, the Venture has been reported to have issues with power window switches, transmission pressure control solenoid failure, and rear lights not working. These problems can be frustrating and may require expensive repairs. It is essential to address these issues promptly to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of the vehicle's occupants.

HAD REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY FOR SAFETY, LEGAL AND STATE REQUIRED ANNUAL INSPECTIONS (OR SO I THOUGHT). WITHIN 3 MONTHS/75 MILES LATER, IT STARTED AGAIN. ENTIRE WIRING HARNESS AND LIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, TO NO AVAIL. BEFORE I COULD TAKE IT IN AGAIN, BOTH REAR LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY STOPPED WORKING. PASSENGER SIDE WIRING HARNESS AND LIGHT ASSEMBLY REPLACED. IT WASN'T FIXED.AND BEFORE I COULD GET IT BACK IN THE SHOP, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LIGHTS STARTED THE SAME THING. NEW MECHANIC ASSURES ME, " DON'T WORRY, THERE ARE MANY THINGS I CAN TRY!" LITTLE CONSOLATION FOR THE DRIVERS BEHIND ME OR FOR ME FROM BEING PULLED OVER BY & TICKETED OR WHEN I NEED THE VA STATE MANDATORY "ANNUAL INSPECTION" STICKER. THEY ARE ABLE TO GET THEM TO WORK LONG ENOUGH BUT AGAIN, AT WHAT COST? MEANWHILE, THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM MOVED TO THE PASSENGER FRONT LIGHTS, WHEN HITTING BRAKES I SEE THAT FLASHERS START TO WORK. ALL OF THE MECHANICS ARE "PUTTING A BAND-AID ON A BROKEN ARM". & II'M PAYING DEARLY EACH AND EVERY TIME. THEY NOW WANT TO REPLACE THINGS IN THE STEERING WHEEL BUT I WANT CHEVROLET TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THIS TIME OR TELL THE MECHANICS WHAT TO DO. THIS IS A MINI-VAN THAT I DRIVE BACK AND FORTH TO THE GROCERY AND SCHOOL, .5 MILES - 5 MILES A WAY 3-4 TIMES A WEEK.

ENGINE PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2014-04-26
  • VIN: 1GNDX13E31D
  • Components: ENGINE
  • Summary: WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND NOTICED THE HEAT GAUGE STARTING TO RISE VERY QUICKLY TO THE RED ZONE. THE ENGINE STALLED AND ONCE THE TEMP CAME DOWN WE PROCEEDED TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE. THERE WE PURCHASED A THERMOSTAT, RADIATOR CAP, AND 2 GALLONS OF PREMIX DEX-COOL. WE INSTALLED THE NEW CAP AND FILLED SYSTEM WITH THE DEX-COOL. WE DROVE ABOUT 7 MILES TO A LAKE FOR A DAY OF FISHING. THE INACCESSIBILITY OF THE THERMOSTAT, I COULD NOT CHANGE THE THERMOSTAT THAT DAY. AFTER SITTING (NOT RUNNING) WE STARTED FOR HOME (60 MILES). WE HAD ONLY GONE ABOUT 10 MILES WHEN IT OVERHEATED FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE COULD ONLY GO ABOUT 10 MILES BEFORE WE'D HAVE TO STOP AND LET THE VAN COOL DOWN AND ADD MORE COOLANT AND WATER. IT TOOK 6 HOURS TO GET HOME. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS THE OVERHEATING PROBLEM CONTINUED. ON 28APR2014 WE HAD THE VAN TOWED TO A LOCAL (REPUTABLE) AUTO SHOP. THE NEXT DAY WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WAS LEAKING AND WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED BEFORE THEY COULD PRESSURE TEST THE SYSTEM TO CHECK THE OTHER COMPONENTS (RADIATOR, RADIATOR CAP, ETC.) THE COST OF JUST THE INTAKE REPAIR WAS ESTIMATED AT $1500-$2500. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VANS BECAUSE OF THE DEX-COOL BEING A PLASTICIZER AND AN ALUMINUM CORROSIVE. ALSO FOUND OUT THAT GM HAS KNOWN OF THIS PROBLEM BUT HAVE CHOSE NOT TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD RECALLS ON OTHER VEHICLES (FOR A LESS PROBLEM) BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURERS SAID OK WE HAVE THIS PROBLEM SO TO KEEP OUR CUSTOMERS WE'LL FIX IT, BUT NOT GM. IT WOULDN'T BE SO BAD IF GM EVEN TRIED TO FIX THIS ISSUE. WE ARE MIDDLE-CLASS AND HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING ENDS MEET AND CAN'T AFFORD THIS KIND OF EXPENSE. *TR

  • Summary: CAR WILL SPEED UP ON ITS OWN AND ACCELERATE. THE VENTURE WILL ALSO OVER HEAT AFTER RUNNING FOR 10 MIN. OR SO. THIS VAN LIKES TO STALL WHILE DRIVING AND YOU MUST KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE OR GAS TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING. TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING SINCE I GOT THE CAR. ONLY OWNED IT LESS THAN A YEAR, NOW IT MADE A LOUD CLANKING NOISE LAST NIGHT AND NOW IT WILL NOT GO IN DRIVE ONLY IN REVERSE. • Summary: ON 3, JUNE, 2011, THE RIGHT PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR ON OUR 2001 CHEVROLET VENTURE MINIVAN WOULD NOT LATCH ON THE BACK LATCH, RESULTING IN THE DOOR ONLY BEING PARTIALLY, AND DANGEROUSLY LATCHED BY ONLY THE FRONT LATCH. SOMETIMES IT WON'T LATCH ON THE FRONT LATCH EITHER. THIS IS NOT A POWER SLIDING DOOR; BUT I'VE SEEN SEVERAL RECALLS FOR FAILED LATCHES ON THE POWER SLIDING DOORS. WE HAVE CALLED, GONE TO JUNK YARDS TO NO AVAIL, AND DEALERSHIPS SAY THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE LATCH. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS THE DOOR COULD COME OFF DURING TRAVEL, OR WORSE, FLY OPEN DURING MOTION, PLACING THE MIDDLE SEAT PASSENGER AT RISK OF FALLING OUT OF A MOVING VEHICLE. FOR SAFETY, DOOR LATCHES ARE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE FAIL SAFE IN AUTOMOBILES. ONE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WOULD COST OVER $220.00 TO REPAIR, IF THEY COULD GET THE PARTS. IF??? THE CAR ONLY HAS 152K MILES. IN LIGHT OF THE RECALLS FOR THE POWER SLIDING DOOR LATCHES FAILING, I WOULD THINK GM WOULD HONOR THE FAILURE OF THE DOOR LATCHES ON THE MANUAL SLIDING DOORS. THIS JUST HAPPENED OUT OF THE BLUE, WITH NO PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. IT JUST QUIT LATCHING. THANK YOU. *TR

  • Consequence: THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STANDARD.

2002-12-09
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
  • Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND MINI VANS, SOME OF THESE VEHICLES HAVE A PASSENGER AIR BAG THAT WAS MANUFACTURED WITHOUT A CHECK VALVE PIN. AN AIR BAG WITHOUT THE CHECK VALVE PIN COULD PRODUCE INCREASED PRESSURE AT THE ONSET OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT AND REDUCED PRESSURE AFTERWARD.
  • Consequence: THIS COULD INCREASE THE SEVERITY OF INJURY TO A PERSON WHO WAS NOT PROPERLY RESTRAINED AND WHO WAS CLOSE TO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AT THE TIME OF DEPLOYMENT. IT COULD ALSO REDUCE THE AB8ILITY OF THE AIR BAG TO PROTECT A RESTRAINED FRONT SEAT PASSENGER.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 16, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020, PONTIAC AT 1-800-762-2737, OLDSMOBILE AT 1-800-442-6537, OR SATURN AT 1-800-553-6000, PROMPT #3.
2001-12-13
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:RECLINER
  • Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CERTAIN MINI VANS BUILT WITH SECOND ROW 50/50 SPLIT BENCH SEATS OR CAPTAIN'S CHAIRS, FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 225, "CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS." THE SEAT LATCH ANCHOR WIRE DIAMETER IS GREATER THAN 6.1 MM.
  • Consequence: IF THE CONNECTOR FOR A LATCH-TYPE CHILD RESTRAINT IS NOT ATTACHED CORRECTLY TO THE ANCHORAGE POINTS, THE RESTRAINT WILL NOT PROPERLY PROTECT A CHILD IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE LATCH ANCHOR WIRES AND REPAIR THOSE WITH AN IMPROPER DIAMETER. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN APRIL 10, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020, OLDSMOBILE AT 1-800-442-6537, OR PONTIAC AT 1-800-762-2737.
2001-08-21
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH
  • Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: 1997-2001 CHEVROLET VENTURE, PONTIAC MONTANA/TRANSPORT, AND OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE MINI VANS EQUIPPED WITH PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOORS THAT WERE SERVICED IN CAMPAIGN 01013 (01V-067) FROM APRIL TO AUGUST 2001. ALSO 2001 CHEVROLET VENTURE, PONTIAC MONTANA, AND OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE MINI VANS EQUIPPED WITH PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOORS ASSEMBLED IN JANUARY THROUGH APRIL 2001. THESE VEHICLES HAVE INADEQUATE FRONT WELDS. IF A FRONT WELD FAILS, THE ACTUATOR CAN JAM IN THE UNLATCHED POSITION AND, WHEN THE SLIDING DOOR CLOSES, IT WILL NOT BE LATCHED.
  • Consequence: IF THIS HAPPENS, THE POWER SLIDING DOOR CAN OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE VEHICLE ASCENDS A HILL, MAKES A TURN, OR TRAVELS OVER A ROUGH ROAD SURFACE. AN UNRESTRAINED OCCUPANT COULD FALL OUT OF THE VAN AND BE INJURED.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, IF REQUIRED, INSTALL A NEW POWER SLIDING DOOR UNLATCH ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON OCTOBER 22, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020, PONTIAC AT 1-800-762-2737, OR OLDSMOBILE AT 1-800-442-6537.
2001-03-08
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH
  • Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MINIVANS EQUIPPED WITH PASSENGER SIDE POWER SLIDING DOORS. THE DOOR CLOSES BUT MAY NOT BE LATCHED. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE POWER SLIDING DOOR CAN OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, PARTICULARLY WHEN THE VEHICLE ASCENDS A HILL, MAKES A TURN, OR TRAVELS OVER A ROUGH ROAD SURFACE.

2001-02-01
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: AIR BAGS:FRONTAL
  • Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND MINIVANS. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR MODULES WERE BUILT WITHOUT THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF GENERANT, WHICH PRODUCES THE GAS THAT FILLS THE AIR BAG. SOME WERE BUILT WITH A DOUBLE LOAD OF GENERANT AND SOME WERE BUILT WITHOUT GENERANT.
  • Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT WOULD TRIGGER A PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT, A DOUBLE LOAD OF GENERANT CAN CAUSE THE INFLATOR MODULE TO EXPLODE. IF THE AIR BAG MODULE EXPLODES, METAL AND PLASTIC DEBRIS COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY TO VEHICLE OCCUPANT. A MODULE WITH NO GENERANT WOULD NOT INFLATE THE AIR BAG, AND THE OCCUPANTS COULD RECEIVE MORE SEVERE INJURIES.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MODULE. TELEPHONE CALLS WERE MADE TO OWNERS ON JANUARY 29, 2001. FOLLOW UP OWNER MAILING BEGAN ON APRIL 17, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-222-1020, PONTIAC AT 1-800-762-2737, OR SATURN AT 1-800-553-6000.
2000-08-07
  • Manufacturer: GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
  • Components: SEAT BELTS
  • Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES, LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, AND MINI VANS EQUIPPED WITH TRW SEAT BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLIES. THE BUCKLE BASE OF THESE SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES WERE NOT PROPERLY HEAT TREATED AND THEREFORE DO NOT PASS THE LOAD BEARING REQUIREMENT OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 209, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES."
  • Consequence: IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE OCCUPANT MAY NOT BE PROPERLY RESTRAINED.
  • Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY DATE CODES AND, IF NECESSARY, WILL REPLACE ANY SAFETY BELT BUCKLE ASSEMBLY.

Negative 2001 Chevrolet Venture car reviews

  1. Talon Schuster 2024-11-12

We purchased this van approximately 2 and a half years ago when it had around 34,000 miles on it. Initially, it was a great vehicle, but after a year, we started experiencing some issues. The brakes needed replacing, the tires wore out too quickly, the alignment was off, the sound system was acting strange, the video stopped working, and the doors weren't closing properly. Unfortunately, the worst part was when the transmission failed six weeks ago, and we had to replace it for $2600. To make matters worse, the head gasket blew three weeks later, which cost us another $2000. With only 80,000 miles on the van, we are very disappointed. We have owned estate wagons for years and never had to spend this much money on repairs. In my opinion, it's better to buy foreign than American. I would advise against purchasing a Chevrolet.

  2. Ryley Kertzmann 2024-07-06

I purchased the van from a salesperson with 140K on it. Initially, I didn't think it was a big deal, but unfortunately, I experienced some issues. The head gasket went in the first month, but thankfully, it was covered under the extended warranty I purchased. I also had to replace the A/C, three wheel bearings at $680 each, and the struts for $777. The engine light was on almost all the time, and I had to replace various parts. The blower system didn't work, and it wouldn't switch from one position to another, which cost me $1000. Later, it wouldn't work in position 1 and 2, which was another $300. I added up all the costs on Christmas day night and realized that I've spent $7300.00 in repairs over the past 2 1/2 years. It has been a huge disappointment, and I'm sad to say that I won't be purchasing a GM vehicle again. Unfortunately, the gas gauge doesn't work AGAIN, and this is the third time. It will cost me $700 to fix it.

  3. Johnson Brekke 2024-04-16

Although the engine and ride are great, it is disappointing to have experienced multiple issues with a car that is only 2 years old. Fortunately, we purchased an extended warranty which has allowed us to address these issues. We have had to replace the AC twice, the master locks three times, the rear wiper motor, the front wiper motors twice, and the seals around the doors and windshield due to water leakage. Additionally, we had to fix the right and left ABS hubs which caused other problems such as the throttle sticking and no brake lights. While we cannot recommend this vehicle based on our experience, we are confident that the issues we faced are not representative of the car's overall quality.

  4. Melany Walsh 2024-03-17

In just three years and 50,000 miles, I have had to visit the Service Department eight times for various repairs, including the computer chips, AC, left wheel bearing, cooling system, battery leakage, air blower, and AC again. Despite the cost of over $3,000 after the factory warranty ended, I am confident that I can handle any trouble that comes my way.

  5. Chelsey Doyle 2024-02-08

This car has been reliable, having never broken down even in the middle of Wyoming. While there have been some maintenance issues, such as replacing the air conditioning condenser and a couple of brake rotors, these were resolved quickly. The car may require some alignment adjustments, but it is nothing that cannot be easily fixed. The trim may feel a bit cheap, but the car's overall performance is impressive. Although the styling is not particularly exciting, it is still a great car. I am considering buying a Toyota or Honda next time, but I would still recommend this car to anyone looking for a reliable vehicle.

  1. Hailey Ritchie 2024-11-22

It's great to hear that you find the car very roomy and fun to drive!

  2. Nick Rice 2024-11-12

This is our first van and Chevrolet. We are coming up to one year of ownership, and we are happy to report that we have not experienced any problems whatsoever. This is a first for us! The van has a nice ride, good gas mileage, and tons of useful gadgets. Onstar is a great safety and security option. We are so satisfied with the van and the dealer that we will definitely be purchasing another Chevrolet product from Mike Shaw in Denver.

  3. Tre Macejkovic 2024-11-06

Great van for the price! It's really roomy and has a great ride. Plus, it's got awesome features.

  5. Madison Rippin 2024-09-27

I bought this van new in 2001 and have been very pleased with it. The ride in the Venture is far superior to my previous 96' Plymouth Van, and the gas mileage is better too. I have put 26,000 miles on it and have had no major problems. Although I did experience a couple of minor issues right after I bought it, my dealer was aware of them prior to purchase and quickly took care of them. I would like to give my dealer an A+ rating for their excellent service.
