Prior to vehicle cutting off, there were no warning signals/signs, it just cut the vehicle off while driving on the highway.

The contact replaced the ignition switch and the fuel pump; however, the failure persisted. The contact then used a code reader that determined that the Engine Control Module (ECM) was not giving a signal to the fuel pump. The contact made additional repairs to the vehicle, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and he was given an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 09V154000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that his vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

The contact stated that while her son was seated in the driver's side front seat with the door opened, the key was not in the ignition, the doors inadvertently locked and unlocked. The contact's son noticed that there was smoke coming from the dash and exited the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact and her son detected a burning odor and noticed that there was smoke coming from underneath the hood; however, there were no flames. The contact's son opened the hood and disconnected the battery. The fire department arrived and inspected the vehicle. The fireman informed the contact that the alternator and battery connectors were extremely hot. The fire department assisted in moving the vehicle away from the residence. A fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the vehicle was diagnosed but still hasn't been repaired. The contact related the failure to a faulty electrical system. The vehicle was not yet deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 133,000.

- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 23, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 20, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212328780.

These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.

- Consequence: IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE HEATED WASHER MODULE TO IGNITE AND A FIRE MAY OCCUR.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL PERMANENTLY DISABLE AND REMOVE THE HEATED WASHER FLUID MODULE. Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my recent car purchase. I traded in my 2006 Expedition for a Suburban because I needed more room and wasn't a fan of the look of the Expedition EL. I've driven the Suburban for 800 miles around town and then took it 4,600 miles back east with the whole crew, and I have to say it's been an excellent truck! The ride is great and it's definitely the best looking SUV out there. I was also pleasantly surprised by the mileage - I averaged 18.5mpg for the trip, which is amazing! We did spend some time on the beaches of the Outer Banks, and the 4x4 feature definitely came in handy. The only minor issue I've noticed is that the six speed tranny can shift abruptly and awkwardly once in a while, but it's not a big deal. I opted for cloth seats this time around because I'm tired of leather looking terrible after just a year, but unfortunately this is the worst Chevy cloth ever - everything pills up on it! So, I would definitely recommend getting seat covers. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Suburban to anyone in the market for a new SUV. Traded my fully loaded 05 Z71 Tahoe for my LTZ and I couldn't be happier! This truck is amazing, I'm getting around 19 miles per gallon on the highway. The dark interior color is my favorite, and I love all the power features. It's such a fun truck to drive, and the navigation system is fantastic. I already had OnStar and XM, but they're still great to have. The quality is excellent and the ride is smooth. I was considering switching to a different brand, but after driving this new style, I'm sold. Great job GM!

You're in for a treat with this one! It's a big truck with great mileage - 18+ around town and 22+ on the highway at 75 mph. I've taken it on two long trips and it's been smooth sailing all the way. While it may not have all the little things that made my '96 truck more fun to drive, it's still a joy to be behind the wheel. And with 165,000 miles on it, it's got plenty of life left in it!

I purchased a 2008 Suburban 15 months ago, but unfortunately, it has been experiencing some issues. The tire sensors and power locks have been failing, and I had to replace both front hub rings at different times. One time, the left front wheel almost came off while driving on the highway at 65 MPH. This experience has led me to question the reliability of this model compared to my two 2001 Suburbans. However, I still have faith in GM and their ability to produce quality vehicles.
