Overview
The Trailblazer was launched on April 16, 2019, at the 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition alongside the Tracker, that replaced the outgoing Trax. The Trailblazer is aimed for developed markets, while the Tracker is aimed for emerging markets. Developed by GM Korea, the Trailblazer is assembled in Incheon, South Korea, while the Chinese-market model is produced in Yantai, Shandong, China, by SAIC-GM.
The Trailblazer made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2019, and sales began in early 2020 as a 2021 model year vehicle. There are five trim levels available: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The latter two came standard with dual exhaust and top of the line features. The Activ and RS models also feature a contrasting color roof.
It was launched in the Philippines in October 2021. Imported from South Korea, it notably reused the nameplate from the previous Colorado-based Trailblazer which was discontinued in the same year.
On January 16, 2020, the Trailblazer was launched in South Korea. The Korean-market model is larger in dimension than Trailblazers sold in other markets, with a length of 4,425 mm (174.2 in) and width of 1,810 mm (71.3 in).

- Power Window Failures: Another frequent issue reported by owners is power window failures, which occur roughly at 85,000 miles. The source of the problem is a broken window motor or regulator, which costs approximately $600 to replace.
- Excessive Oil Consumption: This issue is reported on many Trailblazer models within the first 70,000 miles. There are internal problems with the engine that cause it to use more oil than normal. Some owners top off the oil regularly, while others replace seals, which can cost over $2,000.
- Transmission Problems: Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, and premature clutch replacement are common issues. Transmission problems can lead to difficulty shifting, high revving, and fluid leaks. Resolution may involve rebuilding or replacing the transmission.

2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 5 recalls for different components of the 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer and GMC Envoy vehicles, and 2006 GMC Envoy XL and Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT vehicles. Fluid may enter into the driver's door master power window switch module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board, causing window switches to become inoperative. Previously, the affected vehicles may have had their master power window switch module treated with a protective coating, instead of having it replaced.
- Consequence: The protective coating may not eliminate the risk that the circuit board could short and result in a fire, even while the vehicle is unattended.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install a new driver's door switch module, free of charge. The recall began on November 2, 2015. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15700.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS
- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the headlamp driver module (HDM) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate.
- Consequence: Headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HDM, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14291.

Fluid may enter the driver's door master power window switch module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short may also cause overheating, which could melt components of the door module, producing odor, smoke, or a fire.
- Consequence: A short in the circuit board could lead to a fire, increasing the risk of personal injury. A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the part number on the door module, and install a new door module if necessary, free of charge. Parts for the remedy are not currently available. An interim letter was mailed to owners in August 2014. A second owner letter will be mailed when parts are available. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), 1-800-462-8782 (GMC), 1-800-955-9007 (SAAB), and 1-800-255-6727 (Isuzu). GM's number for this recall is 14309. NOTE: This recall provides a new remedy for all vehicles covered by recall 13V-248. Vehicles whose modules were modified but not replaced as part of the previous recall remedy must have their vehicles remedied again under this campaign.

I used to own an '03 TrailBlazer LT and initially had a negative experience with it. However, over the next 2 1/2 years, it proved to be very reliable. When my salesman offered me a great deal, I decided to upgrade to a fully loaded LT with leather, sunroof, and heated seats. The interior changes give it a more sophisticated look compared to the '03 model. The only noticeable exterior changes are the restyled grille and a lower hangover on the rear bumper, which hides the spare tire. If this TrailBlazer is as dependable as my previous one (after the first year), I plan on driving it for well over 100k. Thank you for considering this vehicle.

I'm thrilled to share that I recently purchased my second TrailBlazer! I was so in love with my 2004 model that when it was time to trade in, I knew I had to get another one, even after considering other trucks. The TrailBlazer is a well-built and reliable truck that is incredibly comfortable to drive. It's also great for off-roading here in Utah. The truck has the perfect amount of space and is equipped with easy-to-use features, making it a joy to drive. I've never had to take either of my trucks in for anything other than basic upkeep. My model comes with leather seats, OnStar, XM radio, and a Bose stereo, making it an absolute pleasure to drive. I can't recommend this truck enough!
-
I love my new 2007 TrailBlazer! It's loaded with features and the comfort level is most awesome. I can't imagine ever owning a different type of SUV. Thank you Chevy for making such a fine ride. I find myself wanting to ride in it all day long.

Hi there! I just wanted to say that your 2007 Trail Blazer sounds like an amazing car! It's so cool that you've been driving since 1962. :)
-
My dad sold me his Trailblazer when he upgraded, with 211,000 miles on the odometer. I managed to take it over 275,000 miles when the transmission finally gave out. It was incredibly reliable other than that. While it didn't have many frills, it had everything I needed. It was a great winter car. The mpgs left a bit to be desired, as I only averaged about 16 mpg, but I had a good job so I could handle it. I think this would be an ideal first car for people in areas with harsh winters, or anyone looking for a good truck at a reasonable price. I'll probably be sentimental about it until the day I die.

I have had my Trailblazer for two years, and unfortunately, it has required multiple visits to the shop. The ignition has malfunctioned twice, and the passenger side window failed to raise once. As a result, I am disappointed with the quality of the vehicle.

The car experienced several issues such as leaks from the moonroof, air conditioner, and faulty fuel sensor. Despite these challenges, the car was repaired and GM even paid half of the cost due to a lawsuit. The windshield wiper motors stopped working at around 55,000 miles, unfortunately not covered by warranty. Although the door closing efforts were not satisfactory and there were issues with door moldings and trim pieces, the car was eventually traded in. It is important to note that despite these challenges, the car was still able to function and serve its purpose.

I have extensive experience with SUVs and can confidently say that this particular model falls short in several areas. The ride quality is comparable to that of a truck, and the trim/seal on the doors is already showing signs of wear. The interior space is limited, and the cup holders are not up to par. Additionally, the vehicle's stability leaves something to be desired. It has a high fuel consumption rate. Overall, I am not satisfied with this SUV and would consider other options.
