Chevrolet Trailblazer problems
The Chevrolet Trailblazer (9BYC) is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand since 2020. It is the smallest crossover from Chevrolet, slotting below the Trax.
Overview
The Trailblazer was launched on April 16, 2019, at the 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition alongside the Tracker, that replaced the outgoing Trax. The Trailblazer is aimed for developed markets, while the Tracker is aimed for emerging markets. Developed by GM Korea, the Trailblazer is assembled in Incheon, South Korea, while the Chinese-market model is produced in Yantai, Shandong, China, by SAIC-GM.
The Trailblazer made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2019, and sales began in early 2020 as a 2021 model year vehicle. There are five trim levels available: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The latter two came standard with dual exhaust and top of the line features. The Activ and RS models also feature a contrasting color roof.
It was launched in the Philippines in October 2021. Imported from South Korea, it notably reused the nameplate from the previous Colorado-based Trailblazer which was discontinued in the same year.
On January 16, 2020, the Trailblazer was launched in South Korea. The Korean-market model is larger in dimension than Trailblazers sold in other markets, with a length of 4,425 mm (174.2 in) and width of 1,810 mm (71.3 in).

- VIN: KL79MTSL6PB
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: I have a 2023 trailblazer rs bought brand new. Currently has 12776 miles on it and for atleast the last 5000 miles I've noticed the breaks squeeling. Esp when I'm going slow speeds. I first thought maybe it was the weather or something. Moisture..whatever because this car is so new I just brushed it off. But it has progressively gotten worse and louder. Which is super frustrating when I'm picking my kids up in the pick up line and my car sounds 15+ years old when I'm rolling through and have to keep breaking. Squeeling in mine and everyone else's ear. I want this looked into a fixed. I had 2 kias before this that the engines blew from recalls they didn't wanna fix until it was to late. I'm a single mom who pays way to much to have a nice reliable car for there to be having issues already. I will be bringing it up to the dealership at my upcoming oil change. I refuse to be worried about the safety or reliability of this expensive new car..hauling my kids around.
Chevrolet Trailblazer 2021
- Date Of Incident: 2024-10-17
- Date Complaint: 2024-10-21
- VIN: KL79MPSL5MB
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: When attempting to park the car I am able to shift into park, however, I get a message on the dashboard to “shift to park”. Dashboard also shows a “p” to reflect car is in park creating a contradiction on the dashboard of displayed items. When this occurs the car will not shut off. Dealer service has indicated this is not producing an error code, they have had many complaints, and the issue is not covered by power train warranty and part is back ordered. I am very concerned about the safety of my vehicle given the indicated failures of the shifting mechanism and Chevrolets inability to remedy the issue due to unavailable parts.

- Date Complaint: 2024-10-18

- Summary: After placing the vehicle in park I get the “shift to park error”. I can’t leave the vehicle, or lock it. It can take any where from 5 to thirty minutes for it to actually read the shift. My car is now not reading my key 80% percent of the time. The vehicle turns off while driving down the road. Saying no “remote detected”. The key has been locked in the Car twice. Which should be impossible. I’ve been stranded outside of my vehicle at night in Atlanta for long periods of time. Trying to get the vehicle to unlock because it is not reading the key.

- Date Complaint: 2024-10-10
- VIN: KL79MUSL9NB
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
- Summary: For about a month now my vehicle is telling me to put it in park when it is already in park. Have to restart multiple times and go through all the gears put it back in park turn it off and still get the "shift to park" error. It does not happen every time I use my vehicle, but it happens so much I am unsure if it is safe to use. Even though it shows it is in park I wonder is it really? I have called the dealer where I purchased it for them to look at it and they will not even schedule an appointment because they say the parts are on back order and they have no idea when they will get them. This is the first brand new car I have purchased and after having a lot of secondhand vehicles I went back to Chevy. I am very disappointed in Chevy it only has 23000 miles on it, and they are not doing anything to fix this, I would not recommend Chevy/GMC to anyone.

If you're searching for a vehicle that offers both comfort and performance, this SUV is definitely worth considering. It's hard to believe that an SUV can provide such impressive power and capabilities. However, if you're in need of a fuel-efficient family vehicle, this may not be the best option for you. But if you're looking for a fast and comfortable SUV, then look no further!

Congratulations on your new car! It sounds like you got a great deal on a well-maintained vehicle. The LTZ trim is a rare find and it's great to hear that it's fully loaded with features like two-tone leather, a Bose stereo, 17-inch aluminum rims, and a chrome grille insert. It's understandable that with age, some maintenance is required, but it's great to hear that it was nothing drastic and you were able to take care of it. As for the driver's seat, it can be tough to find the perfect position, but hopefully, you'll find a comfortable spot soon. And while it's a shame that the Bose stereo requires a higher volume, it's still a great feature to have. Enjoy your new ride!

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my new car. I purchased the Activ trim 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier! It's a small SUV, but it handles great and the ride is surprisingly comfortable. The gas mileage is also impressive, averaging 32 mpg around town and 38 mpg on the highway. The technology is top-notch and very user-friendly. I especially love the wireless CarPlay feature - it's a game changer! If you're in the market for a new car, I highly recommend checking out this model. You won't be disappointed!

Vehicle year: 2003
This is the best vehicle I have ever owned! I have been getting 15 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway since the day I bought it. Other than regular maintenance, I have only spent $210 on it in 6 years.

Vehicle year: 2023
I've had my 2023 RS Trailblazer for 2 months now and I absolutely love it! The AWD turbo provides all the power I need for both city and highway driving. If you're looking for a vehicle that can go from 0 to 60 in 4 seconds, this may not be the one for you, but for normal driving, it's perfect. I completely agree with the great reviews on its styling, interior comfort, and convenience. While the engine stop feature took some getting used to, I'm now familiar with it and find the remote start to be fantastic. As for road noise, I find it to be acceptable, but it's worth noting that I swapped out the dealer tires for a set of Michelin Cross Climate all-weather tires. Living in a condo, I got tired of paying twice a year for tire removal and storage. Compared to my Tucson with normal tires, the noise level is very comparable. So far, everything is great, and I'll update in the spring.

I had some issues with my car such as the driver's side window molding getting sucked down inside the door when the window was rolled down, a loud noise when the cooling fan came on, a twisted molding on the right rear door, and a weird discoloration on the driver's side door mirror. I went to the dealer to get these issues resolved, but unfortunately, they were unable to find any problems with the molding and fan. As for the mirror, they suggested that I take it back to the dealer I bought it from. Despite my frustration, I am hopeful that the issues will be resolved soon. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I have had my Trailblazer for two years, and unfortunately, it has required multiple visits to the shop. The ignition has malfunctioned twice, and the passenger side window failed to raise once. As a result, I am disappointed with the quality of the vehicle.

I owned my 2006 Trailblazer for just over 3 years, and although I loved the car, it seemed to have one problem after another. Everything was fine until I hit the 80,000 mile mark, and then things started to go wrong. It began to rust quickly and was breaking down about every other month. Finally, around 92,000 miles, I decided to trade it in. It was a fun car to drive, but the repair costs were through the roof. I took great care of the car, so I was surprised to have so many issues.

This vehicle has been in for service every nine and a half days since I picked it up. The problems range from a defective right front axle seal, to a severely leaking rear liftglass, to complete autotrac system failure, to the flooding of the driver's floor because the exterior seal was not tight enough. Counting the visit later this week for sticking steering wheel buttons, a mildew smell from the a/c, and parts that were replaced that now have to be replaced again, this vehicle has been out of my hands for almost twenty days in the six months of my ownership of it.

I really like the sporty and macho appearance of my 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, especially in the grey and black RS FWD. The sunroof/moonroof and heated seats are great features, as well as the rear window wiper, auto bright/dim headlights, and backup cam. However, I have experienced some issues with the infotainment/electrical settings and features randomly changing or not functioning properly. Although the CarPlay connection was initially a big problem, it seems to be behaving now. Additionally, some settings like the delayed door lock stopped working even though it’s set to the on position, and I cannot adjust the chime volume. It can be frustrating that some settings require the car to be turned on to change while others won’t let you change them if the car is on. The UI can be clunky and problematic at times. I also experienced some issues with the brakes being too touchy when barely moving, and the parking brake on an incline being noisy and unstable. The suspension is quite stiff, making it uncomfortable to go over seams in the road or speed bumps. Unfortunately, the sunroof gasket/seal popped up around the corner edges, and I have been waiting months to hear if the part has arrived. I also cannot remove the headrests, which was frustrating when I had to cut the whole top of my sheepskin car seat cover. As for the ride, it’s a bit too stiff and does not corner well. My biggest complaint is the noise and wind issues with any windows open. Although I love driving with windows down, it’s impossible to do so on the highway in this vehicle. Even with just the rear windows down a little, there’s a horrible low frequency vibration that hurts your ears and is impossible to tolerate. With only the front window down at any level, the wind and noise are so intense that it’s also intolerable.Driving on the highway with any combination of windows and openness levels can be a challenge, especially with the sunroof open. It can be quite windy and noisy, making it difficult to carry on a conversation with a passenger. I wish I had known about this before purchasing the car, as it is a deal breaker for me. I decided to buy this car after my 2000 Frontier got totaled, which I loved for 20 years. While I appreciate the turning radius, gas mileage, and ability to accelerate uphill, as well as the cargo space, there are still things I miss about my Frontier. Overall, I am still adjusting to this new car.
