The Chevrolet Trailblazer (9BYC) is a subcompact crossover SUV produced by General Motors under the Chevrolet brand since 2020. It is the smallest crossover from Chevrolet, slotting below the Trax.
Overview
The Trailblazer was launched on April 16, 2019, at the 18th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition alongside the Tracker, that replaced the outgoing Trax. The Trailblazer is aimed for developed markets, while the Tracker is aimed for emerging markets. Developed by GM Korea, the Trailblazer is assembled in Incheon, South Korea, while the Chinese-market model is produced in Yantai, Shandong, China, by SAIC-GM.
The Trailblazer made its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November 2019, and sales began in early 2020 as a 2021 model year vehicle. There are five trim levels available: L, LS, LT, Activ, and RS. The latter two came standard with dual exhaust and top of the line features. The Activ and RS models also feature a contrasting color roof.
It was launched in the Philippines in October 2021. Imported from South Korea, it notably reused the nameplate from the previous Colorado-based Trailblazer which was discontinued in the same year.
On January 16, 2020, the Trailblazer was launched in South Korea. The Korean-market model is larger in dimension than Trailblazers sold in other markets, with a length of 4,425 mm (174.2 in) and width of 1,810 mm (71.3 in).

No it hasn't been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? - No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? - Once you put the shift lever in park and try to turn off the car the warning lamp comes on and says Place in park. But the shift lever is in park. You are unable to move the shift lever. I don't know the exact date it first started happening but I believe it was at the beginning of the year.

- Summary: 05/29/24 I took this vehicle to Cronic Chevrolet in Griffin, Ga due to check engine light being on. Code detected purge pump it was still under warranty at that time only had 43,906 miles on had to get the purge pump replaced. Several weeks after getting it back I kept getting a shift to park message come up when trying to put it in park then started having trouble getting it to go into drive. I have had so many close calls from people almost bashing into me because my car will not go into drive and you constantly have to switch in and out of gears for it to finally go in. Its sucking the had right out due to it not shifting gears properly. The code reader detected transmission control module which I find to be faulty and understand there are serval recalls on this specific vehicle , when it started this issue it didn’t even have 50,000 miles on it!

- Summary: Odometer: 50,379 Purchased used on April, 1 2024 Odometer: 47,027 Brought to dealer on 8/28/2024 for service. About two weeks ago we had a "Shift to Park" message is displayed on the DIC after the vehicle was placed in Park and shut off. Started it again and then put it in drive then back to park. Message went away. Then over the course of the next week this happened many more times to the point where we were stuck in a shopping parking lot because we could not leave the car as it kept beeping to fix the issue. Made appointment with dealer. After Diagnose from dealer they said it needed to perform Service Bulletin #23-NA-119, recommend replacement of transmission control. They at first wanted us to pay for it and we advised dealer we had a Chevy warranty. After a few days they advised it would be covered under warranty except for our $50 deductible. Main problem is the part # 13545091 was not available locally and dealer had to research to find part. Advise it could take until 9/26/24 to find part. This should be a no charge RECALL by the Mfg. as this can be a safety issue and to ensure more parts are in stock by dealer.

- Summary: My key gets stuck in the ignition almost every time I turn the car off. In order to get it unstuck I have to restart the car, put the car in drive or reverse, put the car back in park and then try to take the key out again. This has to be repeated sometimes as many as 10 times for it to finally release the key. I have read about many other people having this same problem and eventually the key not coming out at all and they've had to have it cut out. I have an appointment at a dealership for August 1st (the first available appointment) and my vehicle is just out of warranty so I'm told I have to pay to have this fixed. This is clearly a manufacturers defect and first starting happening before my vehicle was out of warranty, I just didn't realize that it would become a much bigger issue the longer it kept happening.

- Summary: I first noticed an issue about a year ago when an electrical blaring noise was coming from my speakers followed by popping and crackling noises. I have taken my car into the dealership several times without resolution. Since then, I have noticed excessive humidity in the vehicle and recently found the trunk was flooded. I took the vehicle in to the dealership again, and they say the interior fabric is compromised now and the electrical sounds I was experiencing are coming from electrical damage inside the body. I have now read another review online from someone who had the exact same experience with this make and model. I believe this is a safety hazard to drivers who are unknowingly driving around for months in a vehicle that could be flooding and could cause severe damages like in my case. I have documents to support these claims, but I do not have electronic copies. If someone reaches out to me I can provide hard copies.

- Summary: My vehicles check engine light came on at 80,000 miles with a reduced engine power alert. If I'm on the highway I'm unable to accelerate quickly if I needed to. We had the vehicle checked out and it was the Turbocharger that was bad. I had taken it to a Chevrolet dealership and they said other Chevy vehicles have already had a recall on some models for the exact same reason. I believe this is a serious problem with the Trailblazers as well for what I have found online. Please put a recall on this. It's very expensive repair for most people's financial situation.

- Summary: Turbo failure resulted in loss of engine power. I was driving down the road and the engine light came on and I got a notification that the engine was in reduced power mode. The vehicle became very sluggish and lost speed. While I was fortunate that I was not on a busy road, had the incident happened on the highway it could have been dangerous given my loss of speed. What's of greater concern, this appears to be a common problem on the Trailblazer message boards. The dealer confirmed it was the turbo and stated that the part was on back order. This indicates the problem is occurring very frequently. The vehicle only has 33k miles on it.

The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

There needs to be a recall so they can be fixed. It has happened on mine for the past few months and the dealer said the turbo is bad. The purge pump has already been replaced.

Sensor connection contamination in the electronic brake boost system may cause an interruption of communication between the sensor and the brake boost system.
- Consequence: If communication with the sensor is interrupted, the electronic brake boost assist could be lost. Extra pedal force will be required to slow and stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the electronic brake boost module, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2020. Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with my new car. I purchased the Activ trim 2 months ago and I couldn't be happier! It's a small SUV, but it handles great and the ride is surprisingly comfortable. The gas mileage is also impressive, averaging 32 mpg around town and 38 mpg on the highway. The technology is top-notch and very user-friendly. I especially love the wireless CarPlay feature - it's a game changer! If you're in the market for a new car, I highly recommend checking out this model. You won't be disappointed!

Overall, the vehicle dimensions were very small compared to my current 2003 Trailblazer. Unfortunately, it doesn't meet my needs in terms of towing and storage capacity.

I really like the sporty and macho appearance of my 2021 Chevy Trailblazer, especially in the grey and black RS FWD. The sunroof/moonroof and heated seats are great features, as well as the rear window wiper, auto bright/dim headlights, and backup cam. However, I have experienced some issues with the infotainment/electrical settings and features randomly changing or not functioning properly. Although the CarPlay connection was initially a big problem, it seems to be behaving now. Additionally, some settings like the delayed door lock stopped working even though it’s set to the on position, and I cannot adjust the chime volume. It can be frustrating that some settings require the car to be turned on to change while others won’t let you change them if the car is on. The UI can be clunky and problematic at times. I also experienced some issues with the brakes being too touchy when barely moving, and the parking brake on an incline being noisy and unstable. The suspension is quite stiff, making it uncomfortable to go over seams in the road or speed bumps. Unfortunately, the sunroof gasket/seal popped up around the corner edges, and I have been waiting months to hear if the part has arrived. I also cannot remove the headrests, which was frustrating when I had to cut the whole top of my sheepskin car seat cover. As for the ride, it’s a bit too stiff and does not corner well. My biggest complaint is the noise and wind issues with any windows open. Although I love driving with windows down, it’s impossible to do so on the highway in this vehicle. Even with just the rear windows down a little, there’s a horrible low frequency vibration that hurts your ears and is impossible to tolerate. With only the front window down at any level, the wind and noise are so intense that it’s also intolerable.Driving on the highway with any combination of windows and openness levels can be a challenge, especially with the sunroof open. It can be quite windy and noisy, making it difficult to carry on a conversation with a passenger. I wish I had known about this before purchasing the car, as it is a deal breaker for me. I decided to buy this car after my 2000 Frontier got totaled, which I loved for 20 years. While I appreciate the turning radius, gas mileage, and ability to accelerate uphill, as well as the cargo space, there are still things I miss about my Frontier. Overall, I am still adjusting to this new car.

The Trailblazer's passenger seat does not tilt back, which can be frustrating. It seems that only the driver's seat has this feature. According to the dealership, this is how the seats are designed. Have you considered looking into other models that may better suit your needs?

The car has 9,100 miles on it and is currently in the shop for the second time. While waiting for the diagnosis, Instant is indicating transmission and engine problems. However, I am confident in my ability to make an informed decision on whether this is a fluke or if I have unfortunately received a major lemon.

I'm having trouble keeping track of my gas levels in my new car because there's no gauge. Instead, there are just little white dots that don't change color and no lines to indicate when I'm running low on gas. I don't realize I need gas until the gas light comes on! It's quite frustrating.
