The Chevrolet Tahoe, and its badge-engineered GMC Yukon counterpart, are full-size SUVs and other trucks from General Motors, offered since 1994 and 1991, respectively. The name Yukon refers to the Yukon territory of northern Canada.
For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new, longer four-door model, slotting in size between the two-door models and the longer-wheelbase Chevrolet/GMC Suburbans.
The Tahoe is sold in North America, parts of Asia such as the Philippines, and the Middle East, plus other countries including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Angola as a left-hand-drive vehicle. The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are part of General Motors' full-size SUV family and are differentiated from the similar Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL primarily by the length of the passenger and cargo area behind the C-pillar. An upscale trim GMC Denali sub-model joined the Yukon lineup as the top-of-the-line trim for the 1999 model year; the Cadillac Escalade is a closely related upscale version sharing the same platform. The Denali is available on both standard and XL versions.

As a result, the contact's daughter was unable to stop the vehicle in time and crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The contact was concerned that no air bags deployed during the impact. In addition, the contact stated that the OnStar feature failed to activate and it was concluded that it was due to the sensors. During the impact, the contact's daughter's head hit the steering wheel and caused an injury in which physical therapy was required on the weekly basis. The vehicle was towed and a police report was filed. The contact also wanted to advise that vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number 21V52000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 139,000.

I bought this car brand new in July 2008 and I still absolutely love it. I haven't had many issues, other than a recent engine light for an emissions problem. It's a very reliable car, and I consistently get 20-21 miles per gallon no matter where or how I am driving. It's a wonderful family car, and I highly recommend it after 50,000 miles!

Great for an SUV! You can expect to average about 21 MPG of mixed city/Hwy. While the hybrid system is smooth, it may not be completely seamless. Occasionally, there may be a clunk when the engine disengages. However, I have taken this truck on every type of terrain, including snow, mountains, and mud, and it performs just as well as any modern SUV. Just keep in mind that it may not be as capable as a jeep.

The incorporation of a CVT on a full size SUV really makes the difference here. It's super smooth and always keeps the vehicle in the perfect RPM range. Although I wish the interior was a bit more modern, my reliability rating is a wash as I have only had the vehicle for a few weeks.

I have to say, the fuel efficiency of this vehicle is hands down the best! I traded in my old Range Rover for it and I'm super happy with my gas mileage. However, it is quite big - bigger than any other vehicle I've had. While the rear camera could use some improvement in terms of angle and range, and the rear sensors are not as sensitive as they should be (I had a minor fender bender when I backed into a small car), I easily get 30+ mpg on the highway. Trust me, I'm always checking! They were actually quite modest with the mpg rating. So whenever I'm stuck in traffic in Atlanta or DC, I can't help but laugh at the suckers burning up their money. I took the 3rd row seats out because there's no room for storage with them in.

I recently purchased a 2010 Tahoe Hybrid (my third car) with 130K miles and a 6.0L V8 engine. Unfortunately, after driving it for only 3000 miles, the motor broke down. Cylinder 1 & 6 have no compression and the lifters collapsed. While I usually don't buy American cars, this experience has reminded me why. Despite the truck's immaculate body and interior, I now need to find a replacement motor. It's disappointing that American car companies produce such unreliable vehicles. In my opinion, German and Japanese automakers are far superior in terms of quality and longevity.
