The Chevrolet Tahoe, and its badge-engineered GMC Yukon counterpart, are full-size SUVs and other trucks from General Motors, offered since 1994 and 1991, respectively. The name Yukon refers to the Yukon territory of northern Canada.
For the 1995 model year, the Tahoe and Yukon gained a new, longer four-door model, slotting in size between the two-door models and the longer-wheelbase Chevrolet/GMC Suburbans.
The Tahoe is sold in North America, parts of Asia such as the Philippines, and the Middle East, plus other countries including Bolivia, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, and Angola as a left-hand-drive vehicle. The Yukon is only sold in North America and the Middle East.
The Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon are part of General Motors' full-size SUV family and are differentiated from the similar Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL primarily by the length of the passenger and cargo area behind the C-pillar. An upscale trim GMC Denali sub-model joined the Yukon lineup as the top-of-the-line trim for the 1999 model year; the Cadillac Escalade is a closely related upscale version sharing the same platform. The Denali is available on both standard and XL versions.

- Summary: The vehicle randomly loses or gains power while driving. All of the auto locks go up and down, while the cluster goes in and out with very high rpms and then completely loses power in the middle of the road. Or this happens and the steering gets very tough. It is very dangerous because there are times where it happens on the highway while doing up to 80mph. It also happens when sitting at line to pick up my child in pre-k. If it were to jump and the brakes weren’t hit fast enough it could really cause a horrible and possibly deadly situation. I have done everything that I can on my end with this truck. I recently replaced the battery and replaced the master fuse since reading it was the cause. That lasted for a week. I have read hundreds of owners with the same problems that have went to private owned mechanic shops along with gm certified mechanic shops. They have yet to find an answer to this possibly deadly malfunction. There are posts and websites all over sharing other owners with the same problems and all of their stories end the same. That gm along with any mechanic used has yet to find any results to this. I noticed that the 2015 model has a recall for this problem but doesn’t describe what is being done to fix the actual problem. It has the same engine and setup as far as I can see so I wonder why there isn’t a recall for the 2010. I have two school age children that have to be brought to and picked up from school daily. If you look up this problem online you will find endless stories and questions about the issue at hand. Most people end up spending thousands of dollars trying to fix the problem on new batteries, cables, starters, etc. However, they all end up with the problem being unresolved with all of that unnecessary debt. This is a very serious manner and I feel that it’s only a matter of time before lives are lost over this. I thank you for the opportunity to be heard and pray that a resolution comes sooner than later.

I've owned two other gas-powered Tahoe's since 2004, and whenever someone notices that I have a Hybrid, they always ask me if it has any power. I'm always happy to say that it's actually more powerful than either of my previous gas-powered Tahoe's. Additionally, I get 19-21 miles per gallon in town and about the same on longer trips. I had the dealership remove all the decals on the body, and I removed the windshield decals myself using a hair dryer and WD40 (which really works!). The only thing I miss is my power tailgate. If you're interested in a Hybrid, I highly recommend getting one for yourself!

I've owned several sport cars and SUVs, but this one is by far the best. The ride is both smooth and powerful. After driving a Cadillac SRX for three years, I'm thrilled to have the V8 back, and the gas mileage in the city is even better than my SRX. The truck comes fully loaded, which is fantastic, but I do wish the back door had an automatic control to help my old shoulders. My two teenage daughters think it's really cool, and they love having all the room of a full SUV instead of a crossover. The hybrid system technology is impressive, even though GM hasn't achieved the same gas mileage as other hybrids. The autostop feature when the car is stopped at a traffic light or in a carpool lane is simply awesome.

I was in the market for a large SUV. So why not decrease my carbon exposure and increase some fuel saving? I average 21.3 in city driving and almost 24 on the highway. The hybrid technology has changed the way I drive in that I am not as aggressive a driver as I once was, saving much more on fuel economy. I totally recommend hybrids. It was a great purchase, even though people think a large SUV Hybrid is an oxymoron.

I really love this car! I've only had it for a few weeks, but I find myself enjoying driving it more and more every day. When I was shopping for a car, I was considering an 07 Tahoe, but I'm so glad I went with this one instead. Plus, the black color is just fabulous! I've seen some with hybrid decals, but I'm actually glad mine doesn't have them because the gas mileage has been better than our previous minivan. I would definitely recommend this car to anyone!
