When the 10th generation of the Impala was introduced for the 2014 model year, the 9th generation was rebadged as the Impala Limited and sold only to fleet customers through 2016. During that time, both versions were sold in the United States and Canada. The 10th-generation Impala was also sold in the Middle East and South Korea.

SAID HARNESS IS ABOUT $20 IT SHORTS OUT DUE TO INSUFFICIENT GAUGE OF WIRE USED ON ORIGINAL FACTORY INSTALL. REPLACE HARNESS HAS MUCH STURDIER GAUGE FROM WHAT MY RESEARCH SAYS. REPAIR SHOP QUOTED $700 TO REPAIR GLAD I TOLD THEM TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER. THEY HAVE A FLEET OF IMPALAS AS LOANERS SO THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOUGING PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY REPLACE WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY ABS SENSOR AND WIRING HARNESS WHEN THEY KNOW IT'S THE ABS SENSOR PERIOD. CHEVY NEEDS TO DO A RECALL. ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION AFTER TURNING OR GOING OVER A BUMP WIRING THAT HAS BEEN WORE THRU DUE TO PLACEMENT OF WIRING IN A HIGH FRICTION AREA, WIRE WEARS THROUGH COATING EXPOSES WIRING THAT SHORTS OUT AND SENDS CODES TO COMPUTER CONCERNING ABS STABILTRAK AND TRACTION ASSIST CAUSES VEHICLE TO BEHAVE ERRATICALLY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED CAUSED VEHICLE TO STALL AND NOT RESTART UNTIL PROBLEM CORRECTED. I'M SURE THEY ARE GOUGED FOR A THOUSAND $ OR MORE. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with our 2012 Impala LT, which we bought as a certified preowned car with 11k miles. I think it's important to note that my perspective might be a little different than someone buying new. After looking at a lot of cars, including the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Chevy Malibu, and Chrysler 200, we ultimately decided that this car was the best fit for us. It rides and handles really well, has great power, a spacious interior and trunk, and even comes with remote start! Plus, the pricing was by far the best we found. So far, we've been absolutely thrilled with this car. It strikes the perfect balance between comfort, size, performance, and economy. While there may be other cars out there that are technically better, they also come with a much higher price tag - we're talking $8-10k more for the same miles/year. In my opinion, you simply can't beat this car for the money. It's truly an excellent choice!

Great car if you're looking for value in a nice car. It may not be the most modern, but modern cars come with a premium cost. You can't go wrong with a Chevy.

I recently purchased an Impala from my local Chevy and Buick dealer with 15,000 miles on it. It was first used as a rental car in Hawaii. After turning off the radio, I noticed a whistling or buzzing sound between 2100 and 3000 RPM. Fortunately, I discovered that there is a service bulletin, PIP4956A, for buzzing, humming, or whistling sounds from 2000 to 4000 RPM on the 3.6. The bulletin covers the replacement of the intake manifold, which was done under warranty. I'm happy to report that the car is now running smoothly with no more noise. I'm really enjoying the car, especially the 300+ HP power. However, I did have to get the bottoms of the doors repaired due to rust forming between the outer door skin and the interior door structure. Although GM no longer covers repairs after the 3/36 warranty expires, they do offer a lifetime rust-through warranty. I decided to have the repairs done on my own time and will try to get some reimbursement from GM.

I bought my 2012 Chevrolet Malibu when it had only 15,000kms on it. It was a great car that required very little maintenance, provided a smooth ride, handled nicely, and was easy to park due to its size. However, just before 2018, I noticed rusting. It started over the rear wheels and quickly progressed along the driver's door, causing a huge piece of the door to come off. I had the car checked over by a detailing specialist who advised me not to spend money fixing the rust as it would only return and cost too much. Upon researching, I found out that GM didn't drill holes in the bottom of the doors to enable water to escape, and they failed to use a sealant, which caused the rusting. I bought a newer vehicle in 2020, which meant I only got 8 years out of my Impala. Whenever I see someone with a 2012 Impala, I advise them of what they could be facing. I take my 2018 Malibu to a well-known rust protection company to help ensure that the possibility of rusting is deterred. Although I loved my 2012 Impala, I like my 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, but don't love it as much.

I bought this car used with around 16k miles on it and it was a great car for a long time. It was comfortable, spacious and I made sure to keep up with all the maintenance and oil changes. However, when it reached a little over 100k miles, the car started acting strange. It would stall and lunge in traffic, which was really scary and I almost got hit by another vehicle. I have a friend who owns a similar car, a beige 2000-2005 model with the Impala emblem on the back, and she loves hers so much. I decided to give this one a try. Unfortunately, the Stability track light would come on and off and it started jerking, so I took it to a garage. They kept it for a while but couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. It's been one thing after another, so I'm planning to sell or trade it if I can't get it running. I guess everyone can get a lemon sometimes, and it's a shame because I really wanted to buy American as they say.

After 800 miles, I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to finding a new car. When the car is cold, the acceleration can be a bit herky-jerky and I've noticed a loss of power when turning right. Additionally, the gas mileage is poor, averaging around 17 mpg. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to take it into the shop yet, as it would require leaving it there for the entire day. Overall, I'm not very satisfied with this car.

This model is one before the new versions came out. It has a basic design and the engine is not as powerful as the newer models. However, the interior space is nice and the seats are comfortable. The truck has ample space, making it a good full-size car for travel. It may not be the best option for everyday usage though.

The car seems to be unresponsive when taking off and hesitates to move. Even the electronics, such as fan controls, are sluggish. I took it in for a check-up, but they said it was okay. If all Impalas are like this and still receive good reviews, what does it say about buyer reviews? The car would be car of the year if it weren't for the 6-speed transmission and heating controls. Whoever passed that should be fired.

The interior may not be the most luxurious, but it's not uncommon for cars in this price range. However, what sets this car apart is its reliability. I did notice some issues with the transmission, such as hesitation and gear hunting, and I think the gears may be too tall. Despite this, it's still a significant improvement over the old Impala with the 4-speed. While it may take a bit longer to get going on inclines, it really picks up speed once you hit higher speeds. Overall, it's not a bad car, but it's not the most lively either. I'm hopeful that the newer models have addressed these issues.

This car is great for long distance travel, but it may not be the best option for mountainous terrain. While the car may not handle well in those conditions, it does provide a smooth ride on flat roads. One area where Chevrolet could improve is the transmission, which can take a second or more to shift gears when accelerating. It's important to keep this in mind when passing on a two-way road in the mountains. Despite this, the car does have good pulling power once it's in gear. However, it's worth noting that the car may be overpriced compared to the Charger, which is a superior vehicle.
