When the 10th generation of the Impala was introduced for the 2014 model year, the 9th generation was rebadged as the Impala Limited and sold only to fleet customers through 2016. During that time, both versions were sold in the United States and Canada. The 10th-generation Impala was also sold in the Middle East and South Korea.

- Summary: I have had this car for a few years and the evaporator core has failed, the car will blow air but it is very VERY hot air. The faulty evaporator core is a direct result of GM using cheaply made parts not inspected to the standard prior to installation into the vehicle. having previously owned this car in Hawaii and still owning it in a hot climate, the interior temperature exceeds well over 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This presents a serious safety hazard due to the potential for heat stroke, heat exhaustion and heat cramps which can effect the ability of the driver to control the vehicle appropriately. Children in the back seat, the elderly and even competent adults ARE AT RISK. NO ONE should be expected to pay to repair a safety hazard that GM has known about and ignored other than a bulletin the left many owners without a repair. This issue is clearly a serious safety concern and should be handled appropriately by GM.

- Summary: Evaporator Core failed. My safety isn't at risk although I get very hot riding in the car without AC. It was confirmed by a dealer. It has not been inspected by police or anyone else other than a dealer. No warning lamps or messages. My 2017 Chevrolet Impala has been without Air Conditioning since approximately June 2020. I took it to a local Chevrolet dealer and they diagnosed it stating the Evaporator core had failed. After doing research online, I found a Special Coverage Adjustment N182186881 on nhtsa.gov stating that on some 2016-2018 model-year cars, the evaporator core may become damaged and the customer is eligible for it to be replaced at no charge. I never received this paper in the mail saying mine was affected but mine was affected. Due to me having no copy of this, no dealer will fix it free of charge. I am not just looking for a free repair, I am looking for it to be repaired for free specifically due to the fact it has been affected. There is less than 72,000 miles on my vehicle.

All said and done was charged $1000 +. My warranty had just ran out. Not the mileage I only had 29,000 miles on the car but it was approximately 4 months after the 3 year warranty. That is totally unacceptable. I could have been killed. How many other complaints have you gotten for faulty power steering systems. Due to this all my warnings on the entire car lit up and a number of check engine and other warning lights came on the dash. Nothing worked and could hardly turn the steering wheel. I would like to be reimbursed the money and aggravation I was put through. I do not have the paperwork to download to you but it can be obtained at Wallace Chevrolet in Port St Lucie, Florida

This LTZ Premier was my father's car. It's extremely comfortable and smooth, with all the features and comfort of a Lexus. The V6 engine is very powerful, and I often feel like I'm well over the limit when I look down. The suspension and steering are fairly tight, not too plush like on other cars, but firm enough to handle well while still providing a smooth ride. The leather is of high quality, and the driver's seat is amazing for my back, with lumbar support that starts out low and rises as you keep the button down. The interior is of great quality, and the stereo is fantastic. It's also very quiet inside, highly insulated, and keeps cool on hot summer days. It's got 50k on it now, and while there were a couple of tire sensors replaced early on and a major AC component, everything has been 100% covered by the extended warranty we put on it. These cars have an excellent reputation for a reason, and I think that for the money, you really can't beat a used LTZ Premier. While gas mileage may not be the best, you don't buy it for that. Also, while it was odd that a major AC component costing $2500 went at 40k, stuff happens, and I accepted the dealer's diagnosis because it was under warranty. Overall, I highly recommend this car!

Hey there! I wanted to share my experience with the 2017 Chevy Impala LS and compare it to the 2012 LS. I purchased my 2017 Impala LS in June 2018 and it has been a great workhorse with a luxurious feel. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that the Premier has, so the LS was perfect for me. My grandfather was a big fan of Chevy Impalas and Caprices since the 1960s, but the comfort and mechanics deteriorated in the late 70s and 80s. However, by 1992, the Impala was back to being a solid workhorse with great performance and comfort. As a police officer, I drove the 1992 through 1997 Chevy Caprice and Impala and they provided the muscle and handling needed for tough Chicago roads. I also drove multiple 2011-2013 Impalas as rentals. In 2013, I bought a new 2012 Chevy Impala LS V6 and traded it in 2018 with 110,000 miles for the 2017 Impala LS V6 with only 24 miles. During the 6 years I owned the 2012 LS, I had a few mechanical problems, but they were easily fixed. The handling was good and the 16” aluminum alloy rims were great. The 2017 LS comes with 18” rims which adds to the smooth riding and handling. Overall, I highly recommend the 2017 Chevy Impala LS for anyone looking for a reliable and luxurious workhorse. Thanks for reading!In 2012, the LS, LT, and LTZ models came standard with a V-6 305 horsepower engine. Unfortunately, Chevy has equipped the 2014-2019 Impala LS and some LTs with an inferior 4-cylinder engine. While the V-6 is optional in the LT and standard in the Premier, it will cost you an extra $1K to get it in the 2017-2019 LS. The gas mileage remains the same in the 2012 and 2017 LS models. However, if you're willing to look past fuel mileage, you'll find a roomy, quiet, and luxurious ride where you can have a conversation with your loved ones. The handling and braking are great, and the controls are simple to use. A friend who owns a luxurious Infinity commented on how he prefers buttons over touch screens with multiple displays that you have to filter through while driving. The interior roominess feels about the same in the 2017 as it did in the 2012 model. However, the front seat can be uncomfortable after sitting in Chicago traffic for long hours. The 2017 LS has more cup holders located in the side door panels than the 2012 models. Additionally, the rear seats fold down on all 2017 models, making the trunk more spacious and longer. In the 2012 models, rear seats folding down were not available in LS, optional in LT, and standard in LTZ. I had trouble fitting my golf clubs in the 2012 LS, but they fit comfortably in the 2017 LS. While there are some things I dislike about the 2017 LS, such as the standard AM/FM SiriusXM radio lacking quality sound and the Bluetooth not working with my cell, the 2017 LS still offers a comfortable and enjoyable ride.The 2017 LS may be narrower than the 2012 model, but it comes with larger side mirrors that stick out more. While backing into a one-car garage can be a bit of a challenge, the mirrors are designed to help you navigate with ease. However, it's worth noting that the side mirrors do have some blind spots, so it's important to look over your shoulders more often. Additionally, the rear view mirror on the 2017 LS offers a slightly narrower view than the 2012 model. This is due to the rear end sitting up higher and the rear window being angled, which can obstruct your view. It's also worth mentioning that the 2017 LS and some LTs come with imitation alloy hub caps instead of aluminum alloy rims, which can be a bit of a disappointment. The Impala is a great car, but if you don't need a big back seat, the Malibu might be a better choice. The front seats of the Impala are comfortable for highway cruising and offer a wide seat pan, but they lack lateral support, which can be uncomfortable when cornering. Additionally, the design of the front compartment can make the space around your body and legs feel closed in. On the other hand, the Malibu is more agile and has a better interior. The engine of the Impala is meek at low revs, but it responds nicely when you need to pass. However, be careful when driving around curves, as the flat wide seats cannot handle it. The gas mileage is okay, ranging from low to mid 20's. If you need a big back seat and trunk in an American sedan, the Impala is a great value. Otherwise, consider a Malibu or a Honda Accord, which are also great options.

I recently test drove four Impalas, two 2016 models and two 2017 models, hoping to find my dream car. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the steering as it pulled away from me even on slightly uneven pavement. This made me concerned about how it would handle in snowy conditions. Additionally, all four vehicles pulled towards the left when I applied the brakes, which was concerning. One of the 2016 models had reported frontal damage, which was a red flag for me. The suspension of the vehicle did not feel smooth and comfortable, which is what I would expect from a car like this. However, the engine performed well with no stuttering or lag. The interior was not particularly impressive, despite the fancy touch screen. Overall, I have decided to stick with my 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited, which has proven to be a better fit for me than the Impala LS.
