Common 1990 Ford Bronco ii problems
Based on the complaints from owners of the 1990 Ford Bronco II, several common problems have been identified:
- Leaky Valve Covers: Another common problem mentioned by owners is leaky valve covers. This issue can result in oil leaks, affecting engine performance and potentially leading to more severe engine problems if not addressed promptly.
- Leaky AC Evaporator and Heater Core: Owners also reported leaks in the AC evaporator and heater core. These leaks can impact the vehicle's heating and cooling systems, affecting comfort and climate control inside the car.
- Clogged Radiator: Clogging in the radiator was highlighted as a common issue. A clogged radiator can lead to engine overheating, reduced cooling efficiency, and potential engine damage if not resolved in a timely manner.
- Fuel Filter Clogging: Some owners experienced problems with the fuel filter, particularly the one located at the back between the fuel tank and the pump. This issue can disrupt fuel flow, affecting engine performance and potentially causing stalling or other fuel-related issues.
- 4x4 Drivetrain Issues: Several owners mentioned problems with the 4x4 drivetrain, such as issues with the left outer U-joints and non-functional 4x4 systems. These issues can impact the vehicle's off-road capabilities and overall drivability, requiring attention to maintain optimal performance.
- Electrical System: There were complaints about electrical system issues, including a cracked head that needed replacement. Electrical problems can lead to various malfunctions in the vehicle, affecting critical systems like lighting, power windows, and other electronic components.
Addressing these common problems promptly and effectively is crucial to maintaining the reliability and performance of the 1990 Ford Bronco II. Regular maintenance, timely repairs, and thorough inspections can help owners mitigate these issues and ensure a smoother driving experience.

TIRES PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2000-08-23
- VIN: 1FMCU12T1LU
- Components: TIRES
- Summary: WHILE DRIVING ON I-35 NEAR NORMAN OKLAHOMA IN MY RECENTLY ACQUIRED 1990, FORD BRONCO II, THE TREAD ON MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE COMPLETELY SEPERATED . THE INCIDENT CAME COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED, WITH NO PRIOR WARNING WHATSOEVER. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ONLY DRIVING 60 MPH, AND WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE SEPERATED TIRE TREAD PUT A SIGNIFICANT DENT IN THE RIGHT FRONT QUARTER PANEL BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THIS TIRE HAD GOOD, THICK TREAD, AND BECAUSE IT WAS NOT ONE OF THE TYPES IN FIRESTONE'S RECENT RECALL, I BELIEVED IT TO BE SAFE. BECAUSE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED, I DO NOT HAVE RECEIPTS FOR THE TWO FRONT MATCHING FIRESTONE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE TIRE TO A FIRESTONE DEALER HERE IN NORMAN, AND THE MANAGER SIMPLY INSISTED THAT I MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD OR THAT THE TIRE WAS UNDERINFLATED.....I ATTEST MOST CERTAINLY THAT NEITHER WAS THE CASE. TO BE HONEST, I AM MOSTLY JUST HAPPY THAT I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT OF THIS TIRE FAILURE. HOWEVER, I THINK YOUR ORGANIZATION SHOULD TAKE THIS AS EVIDENCE THAT FIRESTONE'S RECALL SHOULD DEFINATELY BE BROADENED. IT SIMPLY BAFFELS ME THAT THIS COMPANIES PRODUCTS CONTNUE TO PUT PEOPLES LIVES IN JEOPARDY, AND YET THEY REFUSE TO ACT TRULY RESPONSIBLY AND RECALL ALL THE FAULTY TIRES. I HAVE RETAINED BOTH TIRES AS WELL AS PHOTOS OF THE TIRES AND THE DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE. *AK( DOT NUMBER: W2UL1ML489 TIRE SIZE: P205/75R15 )

Hey there! I noticed that you mentioned the 1990 Bronco II, but I actually own the 1986 Bronco II. While there are some minor body differences and a few engine modifications, I can definitely say that my Bronco II is a fantastic vehicle with more power than I had before. It also gets fairly good gas mileage on a huge 23 gal tank, which is a plus. I particularly love the electronic 4x4 lock - it's a really nice commodity!

I owned a former silver Bronco II Suv for a few years, and I found it to be a great fit for my lifestyle. It was functional, compact, economical, and had a light body frame. It was perfect for my camping trips, grocery shopping, scuba diving, small trips, and my passion for river fishing. Although we decided to trade it in after it was pushed by a huge gust of wind on the Coquihalla Hwy and slid onto the gravel shoulder overlooking a deep ravine, it will always hold a special place in my heart with lots of memories.

I've put over 20,000 miles on my B2 since I got it. I haven't had to do anything to it, and it just keeps going and going like the Energizer Bunny on wheels. I've heard some people have had reliability problems with the transmission, but mine has been fine, just a bit noisy. The transfer case could have been stronger, but overall, I love my B2!
