Overview
The XT6 (short for Crossover Touring 6) is Cadillac’s third crossover SUV, and the largest in Cadillac's XT series, slotted between the XT5 and the full size SUV Escalade. The XT6 is produced at GM's Spring Hill, Tennessee plant, while the Chinese-market XT6 is manufactured in Shanghai by SAIC-GM. The XT6 went on sale in Russia in February 2020. It also went on sale in Japan in early 2020 with one trim level, six-passenger seating, and left hand drive configuration.
While it serves as the high luxury counterpart to the mid-size 3-row Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave in the crossover SUV segment, the XT6 shares its wheelbase with the mid-size GMC Acadia, Cadillac XT5, and the Chinese version of the Chevrolet Blazer. Cadillac describes the XT6 as a “mid-size plus” vehicle as they see the XT5 as their primary mid-size CUV.

- Body Control Module Circuit Board Corrosion: The circuit board of the body control module in some XT6s is prone to corrode due to water leaking from a blocked heating and air conditioning system drain hose. This issue can cause intermittent door locks, unwanted horn or hazard flasher operation, and other electrical-related problems .
- Rocker Arms: The rocker arms in some XT6s equipped with the 3.6-liter engine are prone to break in the area shown on the screen. The engine control module usually stores the codes P219A or P219B when this issue occurs .
- Water Pump: The water pump in some XT6s equipped with the 3.6-liter engine is prone to become noisy and develop coolant leaks between 100,000 and 130,000 miles. This issue requires the replacement of the water pump .
- Carbon Buildup: Some XT6s are prone to suffer from carbon buildup around the intake valves after 100,000 miles. It is recommended to perform a walnut blasting of the intake ports between 120,000 and 150,000 miles to remove the carbon buildup .

- Summary: I was driving south on I75 approximately one mile north of the University Exit at 2:30 PM at approximately 70 MPH when I heard a very loud bang (almost like a gunshot). I quickly surveyed the vehicle (and noted there were no other vehicles around me) while keeping it under control when I heard a second loud Bang, it was about 1-2 seconds after the first Bang. I heard a loud rushing noise after the second bang, that's when I suspected a shattered Sunroof. I exited I75 at University and inspected the damage. The Sunroof was shattered. It was fortunate that I had the sunscreen closed when the Sunroof shattered otherwise, I would have been showered with flying glass and/or lost control of the vehicle. I filed a Warranty Claim with Cadillac which was rejected a week later. I covered the cost of repair via my vehicle insurance using Crestview Cadillac to do the repair work

- Remedy: Dealers will inspect the fuel tank and replace the fuel tank shell if the rollover valve is found to be dislodged or missing, free of charge. I've had this car for about a month and have already put 1,000 miles on it. The highway mileage is over 25mpg and the city mileage is close to 19mpg, which is great. The fit and finish are superb, and there are lots of options to choose from. The interior is very quiet, even at highway speeds, and it rides smoothly over road imperfections. My wife and I both love this car. We bought it for a little over $43k, which is a great deal considering it had a $72.5k sticker when new. Overall, it's a very solid vehicle.

You'll enjoy a quiet and comfortable ride with this vehicle, and it can reach speeds of 24-28 mph on the highway even when using the cheapest gas available. Additionally, it offers plenty of room and great handling.

I'm so glad to hear that you're enjoying your 20 XT6 Sport! It sounds like it has plenty of room and is very comfortable, quiet, and efficient. The infotainment system also seems to be one of the best and easy to use. Even without the Platinum package, the interior is high quality. It's great to know that Cadillac is offering an excellent warranty and 0% for 72 months. Additionally, the Sport package has a locking rear differential, while the luxury package controls wheel slip by the brakes.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the 2020 XT6 Platinum since 12/20 with the 3.6L V6. I only drive 8K-9K miles a year in a metropolitan environment but I have needed to change the full synthetic Dexos oil every 4-5 months. When I asked the service reps about this, they just smiled and said that his wife's XT5 has the same issue. Along with this and the bubbled dash, busted seam on the driver's seat and recalls; I have become very well known at two of our local Cadillac service departments in the Bay Area. They know me by face recognition. Despite these issues, the SUV has been comfortable, safe and quiet. Although, when I needed to accelerate, the engine howls loudly but nothing really happens for a good 1-2 seconds. You would expect the car to launch like a warplane at the growl of this unrefined engine. I hope this helps!
