Overview
The XT4 (short for "Crossover Touring 4") is Cadillac's second crossover SUV, slotting below the mid-size Cadillac XT5, serving as the luxury equivalent to the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain. It is the third model to use Cadillac's new alphanumeric naming scheme (after the CT6 and XT5), and the second of three vehicles Cadillac is introducing in the Crossover Touring (XT) series, the third being the mid-sized three-row XT6 that debuted in 2019 as a 2020 model. It utilizes GM's E2 platform, shared with the Chevrolet Malibu and Opel Insignia/Buick Regal.
Cadillac introduced a teaser for the XT4 during a telecast of the 90th Academy Awards on March 4, 2018, and it made its official debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show on March 27, 2018. Cadillac started taking customer pre-orders shortly following the New York debut.
The XT4 is produced at GM's Fairfax Assembly plant, and went on sale in the fall of 2018 as a 2019 model. The Chinese-market XT4 is manufactured in Shanghai by SAIC-GM.

- Summary: On four occasions now, the car slammed on the brakes as if the collision detection system was going off. Someone did almost hit me from behind as they needed to slam on their brakes due to my cars collision system going off when not supposed to. This has been well documented with Cadillac and the leased vehicle has been back in the shop 4 months out of the year we owned it. It is a major safety issue and am very concerned it will happen at a time that may cause a bad accident, injury or loss of life if something is not done. Cadillac has replaced many electrical parts and tells us it is fixed when in fact it is not and it happened again this week and will be going back to the shop for the 5th time next week.

- Summary: On June 13th 2024, and on July 30th 2024, while driving on highway my Cadillac XT4 suddenly jerked forward as if I had been struck from behind by another vehicle. The vehicle seemed to have lost all power and appeared to stall in the lanes of the highway. This created a very dangerous situation, causing vehicles behind me to swerve in order to avoid a collision. Be advised that the vehicle did not turn off, because I didn’t have to restart it, however it felt like it did. This situation could have caused myself, and passengers to be injured or killed, especially if a large truck was behind me and unable to stop. Luckily I was able to steer the vehicle onto the shoulder off the highway.

- Summary: Driving to a local car wash, I stopped at a traffic light. When I tried to accelerate the transmission warning and power reduction waring flashed on HUD. I could not drive or place the car in reverse, the car had lost all its mobility. I had to let the car coast downhill to pull the car to the side of a busy street. I was fortunate this did not happen on a congested highway, but regardless the inability to move a car off a busy street is an extreme safety hazard. The vehicle needed towed, and after 31 one days was returned to me, four days later while on the highway bolts were falling off the undercarriage of the vehicle. Upon further inspection the rear exhaust bracket had fallen off and was missing 3 bolts.

- Summary: The contact owns a 2024 Cadillac XT4. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel lost power. The contact stated that prior to the complete failure, there were several error messages displayed on the screen. The contact stated that the only function on the instrument panel that was operating as needed was the speedometer. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed with failure within the radio unit. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.

- Summary: GM/Cadillac removed the Front Parking Assist and cameras from the 2024 XT4 Cadillac. We were unaware that the vehicle did no have this now basic feature and almost bumped into another vehicle. This feature was in all other years of this vehicle and GM decided to leave it out without notifying purchasers of this. Why would any major manufacturer make a vehicle less safe than pervious versions. GM needs to retrofit all models of the 2024 XT4 with Front Parking Assist to ensure a child or other object in front of the car does not get run over.

- Summary: General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2024 Cadillac XT4 and Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. The vehicles may have the wrong owner's manual in the glove box. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
- Consequence: The wrong owner's manual may contain inaccurate information about vehicle functions and other safety relevant information, which could lead to improper operation of the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash or injury.
- Remedy: Dealers will provide owners with the correct manual, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 26, 2024. Owners may contact Cadillac's customer service at 1-800-458-8006 and Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N242454040.

Beautiful in and out! However, the ride is not up to par. I have always driven a Toyota Sienna and they are much better all around, especially in terms of ride, room, and seats. If I had to do it over again, I would probably go back to a Toyota Sienna. I bought this one because of the color and mileage - a 2022 model with just 3000 miles.

I recently purchased this car after years of driving less expensive models. While the car itself is small and responsive, I have found the interior buttons and controls to be confusing. Additionally, as someone who is 6ft and somewhat overweight, I have had difficulty getting in and out of the driver's seat without bumping my head each time. I have owned two XT4s, and unfortunately, my 2020 was totaled in an accident caused by another driver. Despite the severity of the crash, my passengers and I were fortunate to have sustained only minor injuries. Recently, I purchased a 2022 model, but I have noticed some issues with the vehicle. Specifically, it lacks blind spot monitors, the cruise control does not slow down as you approach other vehicles, the parking sensors do not work, and the heated steering wheel is non-functional. These issues are concerning and require attention.

In April 2022, I traded my 2017 XT5 for a new 2022 XT4. Due to parts shortages, the Heated Steering Wheel retrofit was postponed to a later date. Unfortunately, it has been 15 months since then, and the repair has not been made yet. Interestingly, the new 2023 XT4s have the heated wheel. Despite my attempts to seek help from both the dealer and Cadillac Customer Assistance, I have not received any assistance. I would like to caution potential customers about the company's deceptive practices in selling a $50K compact SUV with a Model T sounding 4 Cyl. and squealing front brakes. As a result, I have decided not to continue as their customer.
