The Cadillac SRX is a mid-size luxury SUV and compact luxury crossover SUV (CUV) manufactured and marketed by Cadillac over two generations: the first generation as a five-door, three-row, seven-passenger CUV (2003–2009), and the second generation as a five-door, two-row, five-passenger CUV (2010–2016) – the latter becoming Cadillac's best selling model in the United States.
First generation (2004)
Engine options included the 255 hp (190 kW) High-Feature V6 and the 4.6 L 320 hp (239 kW) Northstar V8. It was based on the GM Sigma platform and came with a five or six-speed automatic transmission; rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive and MagneRide were available. As a Sigma platform vehicle, the first generation SRX had a longitudinally mounted front engine, longitudinal transmission mounted behind the engine, and a rear drive differential. The AWD option was implemented with a transfer case mounted to the rear of the transmission, with a propeller shaft forward to a front differential to power the front wheels.
An all-leather interior and curtain side airbags were standard in both models. Heated front seats and wood interior trim were standard in the V8 and available as options in the V6. DVD, sunroof, navigation system, and a power foldable third-row seat were all available options. However the third row was no longer available for the 2010 model year on the SRX.
The base price was US$38,880 for the V6 and US$45,880 for the V8 version.
The SRX won Car and Driver's Five Best Trucks "luxury SUV" award for 2004, 2005 and 2006 and was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2004.
The first generation SRX never had the V Series performance model available.
The first generation SRX was available through the 2009 model year.

GM?S REPRESENTATIVE INSPECTED THE VEHICLE ON 03-DEC-2012 AND THE REPORT WAS RECEIVED AT GM ON 12-DEC-2012. IT WAS NOT UNTIL 19-DEC-2012 THAT GM APPROVED PAYING FOR THE REPAIRS. GM WOULD NOT STATE WHAT ERROR OCCURRED THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO MALFUNCTION. MY CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY UNTIL 100,000 MILES AND HAD ~ 76,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. IT TOOK ~2 MONTHS FOR THE REPAIRS TOTAL. NO APOLOGIES WERE MADE BY GM FOR STRESS OR FOR PUTTING MY LIFE AT RISK. I AM THANKFUL NO ONE ELSE WAS AFFECTED BY THE ACCIDENT, AS I WAS DRIVING ALONE AND DID NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. - Summary: HAVE HAD MY SRX INTO THE DEALER TWICE FOR THE SAME REASON THAT UPON ACCELERATION OF VEHICLE LOOSES POWER AND HESITATES DUE THE STABILITY TRACTION SYSTEM . IT WILL HESITATE AND THEN KICK IN. THIS IS VERY BAD WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF FROM A STOP AND INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST LOOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE IS GONG BUT YOUR NOT AND THEN IT WILL FINALLY KICK IN. THE DEALER REPLACED A SENSOR THE LAST TIME BUT THIS TIME SAID THAT THEY HAD THE CODE BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE IT WHEN DRIVING IT. SO THEY RESET IT AND ERASED THE CODE BUT UNSURE IF THAT WILL WORK. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT BUT UPON RESEARCHING THIS ON THE INTERNET HAVE FOUND SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES HAPPEN TO THEM TOO. *TR

- Summary: TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CADILLAC SRX WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA 235/65/17 255/60/17 ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON THE INSIDE OF ALL FOUR TIRES THE BELTS WERE SEPARATED. GOOD YEAR WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THEY WOULD GIVE HIM 30% OFF OF THE LIST PRICE. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000.

Very spacious vehicle, especially when children are involved. The second row is comfortable and you can easily put kids in the back without too much of a hassle. The back compartment also has plenty of storage space, making it perfect for long road trips. If you have a bit more money to spend, this SUV is a great choice for both leasing and purchasing.

This is my second srx. I bought my first one in 2004 when it first appeared and I loved it. However, the 2008 model is even nicer. The interior is much better, the ride is smoother, and I absolutely love the look.

Upon consulting a dealer in Florida, I was informed that the high-pressure brake line had deteriorated due to salt exposure. However, I found this explanation unsatisfactory as I own several other cars, including Lexus, Toyotas, and Subarus, which have been driven in saltier conditions for longer periods of time without experiencing similar issues. The dealer suggested an expensive repair that would require removing the engine, costing at least $2500. Despite the frustration and disappointment, I made the confident decision not to proceed with the repair and instead sold the car that same day.

My gas mileage decreases with every fill up. Despite overpaying for the vehicle, it has depreciated significantly in value. Additionally, the third row seat, sun roof, and steering wheel heat do not function properly. There is also an issue with water accumulating in the emergency rear compartment. These are all serious concerns that need to be addressed.

I wanted to share my experience with the American car market, but unfortunately, the vehicle I chose did not meet my expectations. While the exterior and interior were nice, the drive and handling left much to be desired. I noticed that American cars tend to perform better on straight, flat roads, which is not the case in Europe. I have previously owned an X5 and a Range Rover Sport, which were much more suitable for my needs. Despite this, the car still looks great on my driveway. I hope that American car manufacturers will continue to improve their vehicles in the future. Now, I need to head to the local supermarket. Have a great day!
