The Buick Regal is a line of mid-size cars marketed by Buick since 1973. For nearly its entire production, the Regal has served as the premium mid-size/intermediate offering of the Buick product range. Introduced as a submodel of the Buick Century, the model line is currently in its sixth generation. For 1999, the Buick Regal inaugurated the sale of GM vehicles in the Chinese market, with the 1997 design lasting through 2008. Following the 2004 model year, Buick retired the nameplate in North America, with the Regal replaced by the Buick LaCrosse.
For 2008, Opel introduced the Opel Insignia as its largest sedan, with Buick rebranding the model line as the Regal for the Chinese market. For 2011, GM reintroduced the Regal to North America, rebranding the Insignia sedan for North America. For 2018, Buick introduced the second-generation Opel Insignia, sourcing all production from Germany; alongside a first-ever liftback sedan, the Regal TourX was the first Buick station wagon in 22 years.
After 2020, as the division shifted away from car model lines, Buick ended sales of the Regal in North America.

I HAD MISSED THE CUT-OFF AT THAT TIME BY A COUPLE MONTHS AND A THOUSAND MILES. THIS CAR NOW HAS 114,000 MILES ON IT AND STILL RUNS OK. WE USE IT AS AN EXTRA VEHICLE FOR WINTER DRIVING BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT EITHER. FINALLY, THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWO TIMES AND NEEDS IT AGAIN. I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THEM REPLACED OR TURNED EXCEPT WITH GMC PARTS WHICH IS NOT WORTH IT.

I BELIEVE THE CALIPER FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE THE WORK DONE BY TUFFY'S TO BEGIN WITH.ON JULY 8, ON MY WAY TO THE HOSPITAL, AS MY WIFE MUST GO WEEKLY; TRAVELING AT A RATE OF 30 MPH IN MEDIUM TRAFFIC I HAD COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND WAS BARELY ABLE TO AVOID A MAJOR ACCIDENT. DRIVING AT A RATE OF 10 -15 MPH I WAS ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR TO LYNCH BUICK AT 5330 W. IRVING PARK RD. IN CHICAGO. THEY INSPECTED MY BRAKES AND FOUND THERE TO BE A SUBSTANCE THAT WAS NOT BRAKE FLUID IN THE SYSTEM. THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIR WILL BE OVER $1,000.00. TUFFY'S WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY TOOK A SAMPLE OF THE FLUID FROM THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. TUFFY'S STATED THE THE BRAKE SYSTEM HAD ANTI-FREEZE IN IT. I purchased this car used with 68K miles and have since driven it for 25K more. It has proven to be a great, affordable family car that gets excellent gas mileage for its size. As I age, I have come to appreciate Buick as a trusted brand. If you are in the market for an affordable used car, I highly recommend considering a car like this. The only downside is that your kids may not be too keen on driving or inheriting it. I have had to replace the spark plug wires, front and rear shocks, and signal flasher unit, but overall it has been a reliable vehicle for long highway trips. The 3.1L engine is dependable, although it is starting to consume a small amount of oil.

You got this car at 50k and had it for 10 years, that's amazing! It's beautiful inside and out, with tan leather and black paint that really turns heads. I'm so glad to hear that you were able to sell it to your friend as you downsized, and that he loves it!

I bought this adorable little car 7 years ago, used, with 80k miles on it. It's amazing that it's still going strong even after I've driven it for 140k miles. I get about 27mpg on the highway, which is great. It has plenty of pickup and is very comfortable. I make sure to do regular maintenance and oil changes. I had to replace the water pump and wheel struts, and put all new brakes on last year, but it's still worth it. Even though I keep thinking I should buy a newer car, this one is just so reliable and economical!

I bought the car with 18,000 miles on it and have driven it for 100000 miles. It has been the most reliable car I have ever owned! The only problem I had was with the air conditioner clutch. This car sure blows the myth about foreign vehicles being more reliable than American cars.
