For 2008, Opel introduced the Opel Insignia as its largest sedan, with Buick rebranding the model line as the Regal for the Chinese market. For 2011, GM reintroduced the Regal to North America, rebranding the Insignia sedan for North America. For 2018, Buick introduced the second-generation Opel Insignia, sourcing all production from Germany; alongside a first-ever liftback sedan, the Regal TourX was the first Buick station wagon in 22 years.
After 2020, as the division shifted away from car model lines, Buick ended sales of the Regal in North America.

WOULDN'T START FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. AT THIS POINT I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PROM AND IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. #4 OF 6: 2 DAYS AFTER DEALER REPLACED THE ABOVE, IT STALLED AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK AND DRIVING JUST A SHORT DISTANCE. HOWEVER, UNLIKE ALL OTHER TIMES IT STARTED UP WITHIN A MINUTE. (IT WAS RAINY THAT EVENING.) TOOK BACK TO DEALER. The car handles well in turns and accelerates with power, even though it is 26 years old - a classic, lol! As a single mother with an 18-year-old daughter, it has never failed us yet! The transmission is still in good condition and the tires are a great size for a smooth ride. The legroom is spacious, making it very comfortable. It has been well-maintained by the previous owner, who was from Oregon, so there is little rust. It has held up great and now that it is an AZ car, the AC keeps us cool even in 130-degree heat! The car is good for highway miles, like 26-30 miles per hour, with its V6 (3.1) engine and cruise control that works well. The brakes are good and it holds the car back with no problems. I would highly recommend it to my friends or anyone wanting a great, smooth, and dependable ride. I have only had it for a year and have put in modern AC and some motor mounts, one front shock, and other than regular oil changes, it's just the way I bought it. Thanks, Leah!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share my experience with my car. I bought it with 162,000 miles and it ran great the whole time. I only had to do a tune-up. I eventually traded it to my father, who is extremely rough on cars, and it ran for another 15,000 miles despite his abuse. Unfortunately, he ran it out of transmission fluid and burnt up the transmission. But even then, it still drove! The transmission needed a rebuild at 178,000 miles due to the lack of transmission fluid. Thanks for listening to my story!
