1993 Buick Regal problems
The Buick Regal is a line of mid-size cars marketed by Buick since 1973. For nearly its entire production, the Regal has served as the premium mid-size/intermediate offering of the Buick product range. Introduced as a submodel of the Buick Century, the model line is currently in its sixth generation. From the 1970s to the 1990s, the Regal served as the Buick counterpart of the Pontiac Grand Prix and Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.
Originally introduced as a personal luxury coupe, the Regal was later expanded to a full model line. To showcase its success in NASCAR racing, from 1982 to 1987, Buick introduced the Buick Regal Grand National, Regal T-Type, and the limited-production Buick GNX. During the 1990s, while the four-door sedan superseded the two-door coupe entirely, forced-induction engines made their return, with superchargers replacing turbochargers.
For 1999, the Buick Regal inaugurated the sale of GM vehicles in the Chinese market, with the 1997 design lasting through 2008. Following the 2004 model year, Buick retired the nameplate in North America, with the Regal replaced by the Buick LaCrosse.
For 2008, Opel introduced the Opel Insignia as its largest sedan, with Buick rebranding the model line as the Regal for the Chinese market. For 2011, GM reintroduced the Regal to North America, rebranding the Insignia sedan for North America. For 2018, Buick introduced the second-generation Opel Insignia, sourcing all production from Germany; alongside a first-ever liftback sedan, the Regal TourX was the first Buick station wagon in 22 years.
After 2020, as the division shifted away from car model lines, Buick ended sales of the Regal in North America.

This car is very reliable despite its age. The interior fit and finish are pretty good, while the exterior fit and finish are excellent. It can be a little sloppy under hard handling, but overall it's a great car. The trunk space is reduced by the trunk lid hinges, but it's still quite spacious.
-
This has been an excellent car both on the road and in the city. The power is there when you need it. The car has a spacious, yet sporty feel.

I didn't buy this car myself, it was actually a hand-me-down from my Grandfather, who was the original owner. The car has about 191,000 km (118,700 miles) on it, but it has had a very good life. It is still in pretty good running condition today, with only minor problems here and there. Throughout the entire time my family has owned it, the car has been very reliable. It has been an extremely pleasing vehicle, and I would definitely recommend Buick to potential car purchasers!

Wow, you really took care of your car! It's amazing that you were able to put 262,000 miles on it. Unfortunately, the transmission eventually broke and became too expensive to fix. It sounds like you did a great job with regular maintenance and keeping the car in good condition. While there were a few issues with the car, like the brakes and needing a new radiator at 140,000 miles, overall it sounds like you had a great experience with it.
-
You made a great choice buying from the dealer! According to Carfax, the car only had one owner - a little old lady. It's a 1993 model with no rust, new tires, and only 72,000 miles. The suspension is incredibly smooth and I personally love the way it floats. The Regal's comfort is unmatched by new cars. Although the dash may seem weird at first, the controls have a nice layout. The 3.8-liter V6 engine provides excellent performance and can even leave black marks down the road. Driving on the interstate is a breeze and the power is always there when you need it. The transmission is just as smooth as the ride. Overall, it's a boat, but still a blast to drive!

This car is equipped with a 3.1-Liter V-6 engine that provides enough power to briefly chirp the front tires under hard acceleration. However, the highway passing response may feel sluggish. The automatic transmission is blissfully smooth. The 4-wheel-disc brakes, although they seem no better than a disc/drum setup, still provide adequate stopping power. The dash design is unique, with tiny gauges spread nearly halfway across the cabin. The fake wood accents may not be to everyone's taste. At lower speeds, the car is quiet, but highway noise can be excessive. The ride is supple, but it may float and wallow too much for a modern car.
