2007 Nissan Quest problems
The Nissan Quest is a minivan manufactured and marketed by Nissan for model years 1993–2017 over four generations.
The first two generations (internally designated V40 and V41) of the Quest were short-wheelbase models co-developed and manufactured with Ford, aside its badge engineered Mercury Villager. For model year 2004 and the third generation (V42), Nissan ended its joint venture with Ford, manufacturing the Quest on its own. For model year 2011, the fourth generation (RE52) became a widened variant of the Nissan Elgrand minivan and was now manufactured in Japan. For the preceding generations, the Quest loosely shared its chassis and powertrain with the Nissan Maxima.
Following the decline of minivan sales in North America, Nissan ended sales of the Quest after the 2017 model year.

Common 2007 Nissan Quest problems
The Nissan Quest, produced from 1993 to 2017, is a popular vehicle in the used car market. While many consider it one of the better minivan models, it has its share of problems. The 2004 and 2007 model years are particularly problematic, with more complaints and severe issues.
The 2004 Nissan Quest has the most overall complaints, but the 2007 model year is considered worse due to higher repair costs, more problems at lower mileage, and the most-reported problem: transmission jerking while driving.
The 2007 Quest also suffers from engine stalling issues, with the engine dying off without warning. This problem is often caused by a failed distributor shaft, which is crucial for starting the engine. Without a properly working distributor, the engine may not start at all, causing difficulties for drivers.
Additionally, the 2007 Quest has problems with the airbag deployment system, mostly due to a faulty airbag module and bad passenger seat occupancy sensors. This can lead to improper airbag deployment, which is a cause for concern regarding driving safety.
Transmission-related problems are also common in the Nissan Quest, with issues like hesitation when shifting gears, rough transitions during a shift, abrupt deceleration, reduced acceleration, and transmission failure. Replacing faulty Nissan Quest transmission parts can be costly, and drivers have reported the problem persisting or returning despite costly repairs.
Engine noises, particularly rattling noises, are considered the worst of the lot in Nissan Quest engines. These unpleasant noises are often caused by worn-out timing chains, timing chain guides, or timing chain tensioners. While the engine can sometimes still run fine despite the background rattling, it can potentially get damaged. Many units belonging to the 2004, 2006, and 2007 model years are particularly prone to engine noises.
Brake problems can also show up fairly often in certain Nissan Quest model years. While Nissan Quest brakes are generally reliable, some brake problems can occur, causing concern for drivers.
In summary, the 2004 and 2007 Nissan Quest model years are particularly problematic, with engine stalling issues, transmission problems, airbag deployment system issues, and engine noises being the most common problems reported by owners.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-04-01
- VIN: 5N1BV28U47N

STEERING,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-04-01
- VIN: 5N1BV28U47N
- Components: STEERING,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: 1. Fuel Gauge- the fuel Hague is incorrect. I suspect somewhere between 1/2 tank and 3/8 tank will actually be an empty tank. I was almost left stranded when I could make it to the next service station. The car performed slow and the car came to a slow stop. No fuel indicator light came on. 2. My steering wheel has been very difficult to turn. Suddenly the power steering tank requires daily service. There is a rattling noise that gets a little better when I pour power steering fluid. I am unable to make safe turns due to the steering wheel no moving at it’s normal rate. Turning at intersections is the worst as I sometimes have to try several attempts. I end up having to take wide turns and that is not always safe in our narrow streets. There is no indicator light related to this concern.

Hi there! Last weekend, we bought a new '07 Quest. We were drawn to the 'un-minivan' look, but unfortunately, the selection for entry-level models was quite limited. These models are really popular, so we didn't have many options to choose from. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior room, which was light years ahead of our 1999 Quest. The power was also impressive. We decided against getting leather seats, as we thought the cloth interior looked a bit cheap and might catch dirt in the waffle pattern. What do you think?
-
We compared the new Quest with both the Toyota and Honda vans and found that this newest version outpaced both. The comfortable seating that folds flat in both the second and third rows, the larger interior volume, stylish exterior, and skyview roof are all Quest advantages, but its greatest attributes are its driving and handling qualities. It simply out runs and out handles the competition hands down. We have not had the Quest for a long while yet, but we are really impressed and love this Nissan.
-
In addition to having an excellent safety rating, this vehicle offers the most features at a reasonable price. The interior is spacious, and the V6 engine provides excellent power. The drive is smooth and quiet, and the 3rd-row seat is easy to fold. We particularly like the sleek exterior style, as well as the remodeled interior (2007).

Great family car! I've had mine for about ten months and 5,000 miles with no problems. I highly recommend this car and have no regrets whatsoever. If you take a look at the number of recalls on the 07 Quest, you'll understand why I think so highly of it. The only drawback is the lack of snow tires for this vehicle (225-65-16).
-
Very nice van. I was a little hesitant when I bought it because of the Honda and Toyota reliability reputation. However, since I bought my Quest, I have driven a Toyota, Honda, and Caravan, and I do not regret my decision one bit! Again, it's a very nice van!

Our previous car was totaled in a rear-end collision, so we decided to purchase a Nissan Quest. Although we found that many people had negative experiences with this vehicle, we still felt good about our decision. Before embarking on a cross-country trip from GA to OR, we took the car to the dealership for a tune-up. However, while driving through Colorado, our transmission suddenly started acting up. We had trouble shifting gears and couldn't maintain a speed of 60 mph. After pulling over and calling a tow truck, we received the news that it would cost $6900 to fix the transmission, as well as other issues such as a faulty CO2 sensor, melted wiring, and a damaged catalytic converter. We were shocked and frustrated, especially since we had only owned the van for less than two weeks. We do not recommend this van and advise against purchasing it. It seems that Nissan is aware of the transmission issues, but has not taken any action to address them. We will not be buying a Nissan again and want to share our experience with others.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share some feedback with you after my recent 500 mile road trip. While the second row seats were very comfortable and supportive, I did notice that the front seats could use some improvement in that area, especially for taller individuals. Additionally, I noticed that the seat covering on the front driver and passenger seats tended to detach from the seat pan, but I'm planning on fixing that soon. There were also some minor issues with the hood, headlights, and grille not lining up correctly, as well as some gaps being off on the lift gate. At low speeds on gravel roads, the transmission seemed to have some trouble finding the right gear. Lastly, I found that there weren't quite enough storage areas, and the steering wheel felt a bit far from the driver when the seat was back. Although the dealer balanced the tires before I took delivery, I still noticed some vibrations. Overall, I hope this feedback is helpful and I appreciate your attention to these matters.

You have a very nice looking car that drives well, but unfortunately, it has not been very reliable. The electronics inside the car have caused frequent trouble, and we have had to visit the dealership once every three months to address these issues. Although Nissan extended our warranty, it did not alleviate the problems. As a high-end vehicle like the Quest, it should be more dependable. If you plan to keep this car for a while, it may be wise to have a backup vehicle on hand. Additionally, the tires wear out quickly, which is unusual for Goodyear tires, and the gearshaft can get locked, which can be inconvenient. However, I want to emphasize that none of my impressions are exaggerated.
