2008 Infiniti Ex35 problems
The Infiniti QX50, previously the Infiniti EX or Nissan Skyline Crossover until 2013, is a compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan. The first-generation QX50 is a minor model update of the EX, while also changing the nameplate to QX50 in line with the marque's new Q and QX nomenclature, which took place for the 2013 (China) and 2015 (United States) model years. The concept car was unveiled during the 2007 New York Auto Show. It included a surround-view camera (marketed as Around View Monitor), lane departure system, V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel-drive, double-arch grille, large L-shaped headlights with adaptive front lighting system (AFS), integrated fog lights, LED taillights and an "arch" profile design.
EX35 (2007-2013)
The production model EX35 was revealed at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, followed by Jamsil Olympic Stadium in Seoul.
North American model of the EX35 went on sale in December 2007 as a 2008 model year vehicle. The EX35 was offered with a 297 hp (221 kW) 3.5 L V6 (VQ35HR) until it was rebadged in 2013 as EX37 with a 325 hp (242 kW) 3.7 L V6 (VQ37VHR). For the 2014 model year, Infiniti again rebadged all of its models renaming the EX37 as QX50.
South Korean model went on sale in 2008-01-24 as 2008 model year vehicle.

I WAS FORCED TO ORDER PARTS ONLINE AND TOW THE CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE REPAIRS COMPLETED.

- Summary: TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI EX35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V054000 (STEERING). THE TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE DIFFICULTIES PERFORMING THE RECALL REMEDY HOWEVER, IT WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,400.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 4 recalls for different components of the 2008 Infiniti Ex35.

- Components: STEERING:COLUMN
- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008 Infiniti EX35 vehicles equipped with the power tilt/telescope option included in the premium package, manufactured June 29, 2007, to April 25, 2008, 2009 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 vehicles manufactured October 31, 2007, to April 16, 2008, and 2009 Nissan GT-R vehicles manufactured March 14, 2007, to April 25, 2008. The steering column outer tube may not be round, resulting in extra stress being applied to the upper steering bearing. This stress may cause the bearing retainer to fracture, creating extra play in the steering wheel or a possible loss of steering.
- Consequence: Extra play in the steering wheel or a loss of steering may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering shaft on the Infiniti EX35, FX35, and FX45 vehicles, and will replace the steering column assembly on the Nissan GT-R vehicles, free of charge. The recall began on March 9, 2015. Infiniti owners may contact customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan owners may contact the GT-R hotline at 1-866-668-1487.

A month ago, I wrote a review of my new EX35 and gave it a glowing recommendation. However, I did mention that I wasn't too fond of the mileage or the fact that it requires premium fuel. I recently had the opportunity to take a road trip and I'm happy to report that my mileage numbers have improved. I'm now averaging 21 miles per gallon, up from 16.5 in the first month. Additionally, I had the pleasure of taking two female passengers on a 6-hour trip and they both raved about the comfort of the back seat. While I wouldn't want to ask a guy to do this, the ladies were perfectly comfortable. I'm also thrilled to report that my Bluetooth is hooked up and working fantastically!

I managed to persuade my wife to trade her 2005 Solara convertible for the EX35, despite her initial reluctance. I explained to her that AWD was more valuable than a convertible, especially considering that we only had the top down three times in the last year. The day after we picked up the car, we experienced an ice storm, which made her realize the benefits of AWD. We both love the car, and I am currently trying to convince her to let me have the EX while she drives my FX. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck so far.

This car is perfect for my family! My wife, our 4-month-old baby, and I are all in love with it. The interior is absolutely stunning, especially considering the price range. The exterior design is so eye-catching that it turns heads everywhere we go. The automatic fold-down seats are a really cool feature, and all the other interior add-ons make the ride so enjoyable. The only downside is that the MPG isn't great in the city or in stop-and-go traffic, and the cargo room is a bit small. We can only fit our full-size Stokke stroller in the cargo space, and groceries have to be placed around it. However, the engine runs great and is powerful off the line, and the car handles beautifully at highway speeds and around curves.

If you're an SUV owner considering purchasing this vehicle, you may need to rethink your definition. While it is higher off the ground and has room in the back, this car is better suited for the symphony than the woods. However, I recently purchased one and it's the most luxurious ride I've ever had. It's incredibly comfortable, technologically advanced, and handles like a dream! The car is also very user-friendly, and although I initially thought it might be too elegant for me, I quickly got over that. While the back seat isn't the largest, it's still comfortable. The premium and navigation packages were definitely worth it. The city gas mileage is 18.5 mpg, which isn't bad. Great job, Infiniti!

The car drives through snow and has good handling. However, it does have some drawbacks. It gets poor mileage, the plastic siding on the doors may start to fall off, and the keys may lose their programming. Unfortunately, there is no backup way to start the car. While the non-core features may not be the best, the car is still a reliable mode of transportation.

I purchased my EX35 about a year ago and got a great deal on it! Although I was excited to have the name 'Infiniti' associated with my car, I have unfortunately experienced some issues with its reliability. It has left me stranded twice now, which has been frustrating. Roadside assistance has towed it to the dealer where the battery was replaced once, but unfortunately, the issue persists. The dealer is currently investigating the problem, but I am disappointed that my first Infiniti has not lived up to my expectations. My previous car, a Honda, never left me stranded in 6 years. Despite this, I am grateful for the great low price I received, but I hope that the reliability issues can be resolved soon, especially since I have a little one to consider.

The high-pitch noise every time the car starts and accelerates is the biggest complaint I have for this car. According to online forums, this is a pretty common problem. Unfortunately, Infiniti hasn't fixed it yet and not one of the service mechanics have heard it. I like to drive without the radio, but that's not a possibility because of the noise. I am considering trading in this car for the 2009 Buick Enclave.

I bought my ex35 when it first came out, assuming that being an Infiniti, it would be a reliable car. Unfortunately, I've had several recalls on the car and it has proven to be quite unreliable. The dealership, Southwest Infiniti, has even wrecked it twice. With only 19,000 miles on it, the rear brakes have already gone out and the rotors have been refaced twice, but the dealership won't cover it under warranty. Additionally, the motor in the mirror for the tilt down option has broken and the power steering column has gone out. I even had to replace the battery when it was only 6 months old. Needless to say, I'm extremely disappointed with my experience and I don't think I'll be purchasing another Infiniti. It's supposed to be a luxury brand, but it feels more like a Nissan. Save yourself the time and headaches!
