The Volvo V60 is a compact executive station wagon (estate car) produced by Volvo Cars related to the S60 executive sedan. The vehicle was first released in autumn 2010, facelifted in 2014, and is in its second generation since 2018.
The second generation V60 was launched in 2018 based on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture platform. Both generations feature a "Cross Country" variant with a slightly increased (60-mm / 2.4-inch) ground clearance and ride height.

Supplementary restraint system: An issue has been found with the installation of a part of the supplementary restrain system fitted to V60s made between 10-22 September 2020. If your car is affected, it'll need to be checked over by a technician at a Volvo dealer.
Non-engine electrics: Tied for the most common complaint, the car's non-engine electrics accounted for 9.1% of complaints. This includes issues with the infotainment system, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, and wireless charging pad.
Engine Major: Engine-related issues accounted for 8.2% of complaints. This includes engine rebuild or replacement, cylinder head, head gasket, turbocharger or supercharger, timing chain or belt, alternator, starter, hybrid battery replacement, hybrid battery related systems, regular battery, battery cables, engine harness, coil, ignition switch, electronic ignition, spark plugs and wires failure, and auto stop/start.
Driveshaft or axle: Issues with the driveshaft or axle, CV joint, differential, transfer case, four-wheel-drive/all-wheel-drive components, driveline vibration, and electrical failure accounted for 6.1% of complaints.
Steering and suspension: Problems with shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension, and steering column accounted for 6.1% of complaints.
Transmission: Issues with the gear selector and linkage, transmission computer, transmission sensor or solenoid, clutch adjustment, rough shifting, slipping transmission, leaks, and torque converter accounted for 5% of complaints.
Windows, locks, and latches: Problems with windows, locks and latches, doors or sliding doors, tailgate, trunk or hatch, mirrors, seat controls (power or manual), seat belts, sunroof, convertible top, glass defect, squeaks, rattles, wind noises, seals and/or weather stripping, air and water leaks, accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks, paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust, muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks, transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement, radiator, cooling fan, water pump, thermostat, antifreeze leaks, overheating, sensors (O₂, or oxygen, sensor), emission-control devices (includes EGR), fuel-injection system, fuel gauge/sender, fuel pump, problems filling up the tank accounted for 4.1% of complaints.

- Summary: Volvo Cars of N.A., LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2008-2016 V70 and XC70, 2007-2016 S80, 2011-2018 S60 and V60, 2016-2018 S60 Cross Country, 2014-2020 S60L, 2009-2015 S80L, 2009-2016 XC60 and 2015-2018 V60 Cross Country vehicles. The flexible steel cable that connects the seat belt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue over time, causing the seat belt to not secure the occupant in the event of a crash.
- Consequence: An unsecured occupant has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
- Remedy: Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seat belt anchor cable for both front seats. The recall began December 10, 2020. Owners may contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R10029.

- Summary: Volvo Car USA LLC (Volvo) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Volvo XC90, S90, V60, V60 Cross Country, V90, XC40, XC60, and V90 Cross Country vehicles. The software installed in the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM) may have an error causing the Telematics and Driver Support Systems to function improperly. As a result, the GPS will not provide location information to emergency personnel in the event of an emergency.
- Consequence: If the GPS location is not provided to emergency personnel it can inhibit emergency response in the event of a crash or injury.
- Remedy: Volvo will notify owners, and dealers will correct the software, free of charge. The recall began December 26, 2018. Owners may contact Volvo customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R39917.

I completely agree with the Edmunds review of Volvo's V60, having purchased a new 2015.5 T5 Premier five months and 7000 miles ago. The car is still performing as new after 18 months and 22,000 miles of ownership. The gas mileage is exceeding my expectations, averaging about 30 mpg considering its performance and comfort. The driver and passenger front seats are very comfortable on all day drives. I have now driven my V60 38,000 miles with no problems. The only maintenance has been two Dealer 10K oil changes and checkups at no cost to me. I replaced the OEM Continental tires after only 25K miles because they became very noisy. The only changes to the car I would recommend are faster than 3G internet and the cars rather wide turning radius makes parking in tight spots a little challenging. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my V60 and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable car.The Pirelli P7 tires on your car are performing well, with no problems and minimal wear. You have driven 43,500 miles and have only needed regular 10K service with no repairs. While the 40K service was a bit expensive, you chose to have the brake fluid changed due to living in the humid southeast, which added to the cost. You are still achieving 30+mpg in mostly highway driving.

I recently purchased my second Volvo, a 2016 V60 T5 wagon, after owning a 2013 S60 T5 (5-cylinder) and I couldn't be happier. Although I have always been an 'Audi' guy, I find that the Volvo S & V60 out-perform the Audi for city and highway driving, thanks to its comfortable suspension and fantastic seats. The V60's engine performance is perfect for the real roads of life here in southern California, and the 8-speed transmission has a sport mode that's great for quicker shifting. What I appreciate about Volvo's in general is their timeless good looks that project a different, less in-your-face presence than Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Plus, they are less expensive as well. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my V60 and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and reliable car.

After driving BMWs, Audis, and Lexus, I have been pleasantly surprised by my V60. It drives and performs very well, is quiet and extremely comfortable, and looks great. I don't quite understand why people continue to buy SUVs and crossovers, which tend to get poor mileage and don't perform as well as wagons.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with the Volvo overseas purchase program. My partner and I picked up our v60 at the plant in Sweden and it was an amazing experience! We then spent 10 weeks traveling through Europe, including the Scandinavian countries and the Baltic States, in our new v60. The car handled great in many different weather and road conditions, and the seats were the most comfortable I've ever experienced on a long road trip. I highly recommend the Volvo overseas purchase program! However, I do have one complaint. After a set amount of time, I am not able to use my auto start function without paying a yearly fee. As the owner of the car, I believe I should be able to use all of its components without any additional fees. Unfortunately, I've heard that some other auto makers do the same thing, which I believe is unfair. Thank you for listening to my experience!

I bought my car in April and have already driven over 9,000 miles, including some long road trips. I'm happy to report that I've been able to hit all EPA mileage ratings, including on the highway, and have averaged 30 mpg over the last 6,000 miles. The car has been flawless and easy to use and drive. I still catch myself staring at it or pausing while sitting in it to take it all in. My wife and I even went on a month-long vacation with our cat and fit everything we needed in the car with the seats down. There was plenty of room! The car is fast, quiet at highway speeds, and the seats are wonderful. I've even done four 12-hour stints in the driver's seat and haven't been uncomfortable at all. I truly believe this car is a gem and should be on your test drive list, at the very least.

I was really excited when I purchased the car. It was less than a year old with only 10k miles. However, I have encountered some issues with the computer system since it reached 30k miles. Unfortunately, the owner's manual is only available on the computer system, which makes it difficult to access. Additionally, checking the oil and other levels is complicated and requires the use of the car computer system. To get an oil change, I have to go to the dealership or find a specialized mechanic, which can be challenging. Overall, my experience has been frustrating. I would advise caution before purchasing a car with this type of computer system.

Hello! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my experience with my Certified Pre-Owned V60 from Cape Cod Volvo. I purchased it in June 2019 with about 45,000 miles on it and it was a solid car. However, I did encounter an issue with the engine burning out after three services later (every 10,000 as recommended) at 83,000 miles. Unfortunately, the warranty had expired and there was no clear explanation from Volvo. My only recourse was either to pay about $6,000 for a used engine to be installed, or sell. As you can imagine, the difference from what I owe on the car and what it is worth now is significant, not to mention the diagnostics, towing charges, and time and energy spent on recovering. Despite this setback, I remain hopeful and grateful for the time I had with my V60. Thank you for listening to my story.

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share my experience with this car that I purchased about 115 months ago with the intention of using it for my new family. Unfortunately, when I went to bring my newborn home, I realized that the rear-facing car seat did not fit properly. The front passenger seat had only about 3 inches of legroom, which made it impossible to use. After realizing that the car did not meet our needs, I tried to trade it in at 7 different dealerships, but was disappointed to find that the car had depreciated by more than 50%. The sticker price of the car was $42,534, but after just 15 months, the trade-in value was only $20,000. If you are considering purchasing this car, I would recommend planning on keeping it for a long time to avoid losing money.

Unfortunately, I have found that this model seems to wear through tires much faster than my previous ones. Specifically, I have had a lot of trouble with the Continental ContiPro contact 235/45/R17 Xl tires - they seem to be the worst of the bunch. I had to replace two of them at just 14,000 miles, and another one about a month later (thank goodness for the warranty!).
