2019 Cadillac Escalade problems
The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by General Motors and marketed by their luxury division Cadillac. It was the luxury brand's first major entry into the SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to an influx of new luxury SUVs in the late 1990s such as the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Range Rover, Lexus LX, and (especially) Ford's 1998 debut of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only ten months after it was approved. The Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas. The term "escalade" refers to a siege warfare tactic of scaling defensive walls or ramparts with the aid of ladders or siege towers. More generally, it is a French word which is the noun-equivalent form of the French verb escalader, which means "to climb or scale".
The Escalade is currently sold in North America and select international markets (Europe and Asia) where Cadillac has official sales channels. The Escalade ESV (Escalade Stretch Vehicle) is sold in North America, Russia, and the Middle East, but is only available by special order in some international markets. The right-hand-drive Escalade and Escalade ESV are available through third-party conversion specialists without official agreement with Cadillac in Australian, Oceanic, and Japanese markets.
On August 8, 2023, GM unveiled the Escalade IQ, an all-electric version of the Escalade, and the third model in Cadillac's EV line, after the Celestiq, and Lyriq. It is expected to go on sale in late 2024 for the 2025 model year, with a starting price of $130,000.

PERSONALLY PURCHASED AND RECORDED A LOG OF SEAT TEMPS FOR OVER A MONTH. RETURN VENTS ON BACK OF BOTH SEATS REACHED A MAXIMUM OF 132FON DRIVERS SIDE AND 129F ON PASSENGER. ON AVERAGE, INFRARED THERM. SHOWED DRIVER/ PASSENGER BACK OF SEATS MEASURING AVG 92-96 DEGREES F. ON OCASSION COOLING SEATS WORK WITH NO ISSUE BUT USUALLY OCCURS 15 MINUTES INTO DRIVING WITH COOL ON. WHEN SEAT COOLING TURNED OFF, SEATS/VENTS COOL OFF. WHEN TURNED BACK ON SEATS/VENTS HEAT UP. CAR SERVICED BY DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. AFTER NOTIFYING GM CUSTOMER RELATIONS WITH CERTIFIED LETTER, A GM SERVICE ENGINEER WAS SENT TO ASSESS MY CAR ISSUES ON THE THIRD TIME. PER INVOICE 10644 9/24/19, GM SERVICE ENGINEER CONFIRMED THERE WAS AIR BEING TRAPPED IN FOAM OF BACK SEAT CAUSING RETURN AIR VENTS TO HEAT UP. HIS CORRECTION IS REMOVAL OF OPEN CELLED FOAM IN BACK OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS AND REPOSITIONED THEN REMOVED HOT AIR EXHAUST PORTS ON LF/RF SEAT BACK COOLERS. NOTES COOLING SEATS OPERATE AS DESIGNED. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH REMOVAL OF MANUFACTURERS DESIGN PARTS FOR FUNCTIONING OF CAR. EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-06-15
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING
- Summary: THIS COMPLAINT APPLIES TO THE 2017-2019 CADILLAC ESCALADE. THE HEADLIGHTS ON THESE VEHICLES ARE BLINDINGLY BRIGHT -- ENOUGH TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD. THEY ARE WAY TOO BRIGHT IF THEY SHINE DIRECTLY IN YOUR EYES OR SIDE MIRROR WHILE DRIVING A CAR. THEY ARE AN UNUSUAL DESIGN, WITH VERTICALLY STACKED POINTS OF TINY INDIVIDUAL LIGHTS, WHICH I BELIEVE CAUSES THIS PROBLEM. I RECENTLY READ THAT PEDESTRIAN FATALITIES HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED LATELY, PARTICULARLY AT NIGHT. I BELIEVE THIS IS DUE TO THE INCREASINGLY BRIGHT SUV HEADLIGHTS, PARTICULARLY ON LUXURY SUV'S. THE ESCALADE IS THE WORST, DUE TO THE UNUSUAL LIGHT DESIGN; BUT OTHERS ARE ALMOST AS BAD. IF THEY SHINE IN YOUR EYES -- FOR EXAMPLE, DRIVING UPHILL AS ONE OF THESE IS COMING DOWN THE HILL IN THE OTHER LANE -- IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ANY PEDESTRIAN TO THE SIDES, PARTICULARLY IF THE PERSON IS WEARING BLACK. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY AT ONE BUSY INTERSECTION IN MY TOWN. IF YOU WANT TO REDUCE PEDESTRIAN DEATHS, THERE NEEDS TO BE GREATER REGULATION OF THE BRIGHTNESS OF VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS, PARTICULARLY ON TRUCKS. THANK YOU FOR THE CONSIDERATION OF THESE COMMENTS.[XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).' *PM

It's an amazing car.

I had a great experience with Jeremy, the sales rep at Big Star, when I purchased my Certified Pre-Owned vehicle. It has a lot of useful features from front to back, but the fuel economy is a bit of a problem. Interestingly enough, I've noticed that prices for this vehicle are going up, which is a bit weird.

I've had experience with Cadillacs before, including an Escalade, but when it started to become associated with the big baller/rap/gangster image, it no longer felt like the right car for me. However, the new design caught my attention. It's a really nice looking SUV without any artificial gills. Although it has a truck frame lineage, I appreciate the durability and toughness of the design. I bought it mainly to carry my grandchildren and keep them safe, but I also find it entertaining to drive. The price of entry is steep, but the Tahoe or GMC versions didn't visually appeal to me. As a guy, this SUV really appealed to me and I feel great driving it. So far, I've had no issues and have driven about 10K miles in the truck.

I really like the SUV and the color. The interior is super clean. Although, I do wish the third row was more like the ESV model, as only small kids can fit back there. Overall, I'm happy with it and ready to roll!

I bought this Cadillac Escalade used about 2 months ago. During the short test drive, I didn't notice any issues. However, after purchasing it, I experienced some transmission issues. The car would lunge when I stopped and when it was in park, it would want to go. Additionally, the cue system screen would freeze up and not work properly. I contacted Cadillac's main number and the dealership in Spring, but unfortunately, they were unable to help me as there is no recall for these issues. I found out that there is a civil action lawsuit, the second one for the cue screen. I may have to file a lemon law before this car actually hits someone. I also own a BMW X5 that I love and have had no issues with. I previously owned a Mercedes and I don't think I will ever go back to a Cadillac again. I suggest that no one purchase a Cadillac due to the numerous issues and lack of willingness to fix them.

The car had some issues that made it difficult to drive. However, I recently traded it in for a new Tahoe, which has been a blessing. I hope the next owner of my old Escalade has a better experience with it.

Great vehicle as far as options and comfort! However, after driving a few hundred miles, you may feel a shudder in the transmission. I did some research and found out that this is a common issue. Unfortunately, the only fix is to replace the entire transmission and torque converter.

A minivan is a great option if you need to seat more people and store more items inside the vehicle. On the other hand, the Cadillac Escalade is a luxurious and powerful vehicle. Recently, I was given an 'upgrade' from a rental agency to an Escalade. Although it had many bells and whistles, it wasn't my cup of tea. I have driven large vehicles before, but the Escalade didn't impress me. I was travelling with my wife and three kids, and when we opened the back to load our luggage, we were disappointed to find less than a foot of cargo space. We had to put down a seat and stack the luggage to fit. In hindsight, I would have preferred a minivan or sedan over the Escalade.
