2020 Volvo S90 problems
The Volvo S90 is an executive sedan manufactured and marketed by Swedish automaker Volvo Cars since 2016. Its estate variant is called the Volvo V90.
Models
For the model year of 2017 (the first model year), a short and long wheelbase sedan as well as an estate model were made available. For 2017, the short wheelbase model was sold in North America and Europe, while the long wheelbase model was primarily sold in China. Volvo has hinted at possible coupe variants, but not until at least 2020 as the Polestar 1.
S90
Before its reveal, the first official pictures of the S90 were shown on Wednesday, 2 December 2015. The S90 was unveiled to the public in January 2016, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. The S90's design was well received, winning the Production Car Design of the Year award for 2015.
While not a direct successor to the second-generation S80, the S90 replaces it as the flagship sedan in Volvo's lineup. Several trim levels are available, ranging from Momentum to Inscription. In July 2016, an optional, cosmetic R-Design package was announced. A long wheelbase version was announced for availability in the United States.
For the 2022 model year in the United Kingdom, the range was limited to the S90 Recharge, a mild-hybrid sedan. The S90 Recharge was limited to Plus and Ultimate trim levels with the T8 AWD mild-hybrid engine, a 2.0-litre 455-horsepower (339 kW; 461 PS) 4-cylinder available with all-wheel-drive only.

- Summary: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2019-2020 V90, XC60, S60, V60, V60CC, S90, V90CC, S90L, and XC90 vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump can blow a fuse and fail.
- Consequence: Failure of the low-pressure fuel pump can cause a stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 2, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-888-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10100.

I brought my 2018 Volvo S90 AWD in for regular servicing on 7/20/20. It has 17K miles on it, and I have had it since 11/'18. During the servicing, I was informed that it needed a complete brake job costing $665. While I was surprised that a car with such low mileage needed a brake job, I understand that wear and tear can happen. My son, who used to work at Land Rover, mentioned that the brakes on this model do not last long, which seems to be a common issue with Volvos. Despite this, I still love my car for its latest tech and safety features, beautiful design, plush interior, and great performance on the highway. However, I have noticed that going over bumps in the road can be a bit jarring due to the 4-wheel drive, and the car sits lower than what I'm used to. As someone who is 5'9

I have owned Mercedes and Audi but was unhappy with the maintenance costs. However, I recently discovered the Volvo S90 and fell in love with its quality, ride, tech, and overall design. I drove it to DC and back, in all types of weather conditions, and it handled everything the road threw at it with ease and comfort. I am extremely pleased with this car!

Unfortunately, a distracted driver allowed my wife and I to experience the safety of a Volvo. The car performed flawlessly hitting the brakes, tightening our belts, etc. The safety was amazing. Before I left the ED after having my wrist x ray, I was already looking for the replacement. This one is white with the caramel interior and stunning. So pleased they have the dark gray on the lower areas. I never find it lacking for power and with the tires I have on it, it is very responsive, smooth, and always in control. I get GREAT gas mileage for the size of it and the seats can't be beat. The Bowers and Wilkens sound truly surrounds you. The back seat is SO big. My 6'4 son sits back there with his legs crossed. The trunk is large. It is reliable and fun to drive for such a huge car.I wish the system would boot up faster but I'm just used to it now. I enjoy the multiple settings due to multiple drivers in the house and find it a little finnicky with knowing which key fob is active. Very minor complaints. It does sit low and while I like that, I have a sense that we will be getting an XC90 next to make it easier for others to get in and out. If you want understated luxury, technology that works and more power than anyone would expect, check it out.

Firstly, let me say that this car looks absolutely beautiful. I purchased the T5 with AWD and every available option, but unfortunately, I have experienced several disappointments. One of which is the brakes, as both the front and rear rotors have warped. Additionally, the ride can be quite harsh. In my opinion, the engine is not as refined as one would expect for a car that costs $50K. As someone who has owned many high-end cars, I must say that I am not a fan of this one. Perhaps I should have rented one for a week before making a purchase. I will be selling it very soon.

To review, I want to mention that the seats used to be great, but they have changed since 2017, possibly due to being manufactured in China. They made some changes to increase the backseat legroom, which completely altered the feel of the seat. Personally, I am not a fan of the new design and I am looking forward to replacing it. I had assumed that the seats would be the same as the 2017 model when I purchased this vehicle.

Purchased new in 2020. I absolutely fell in love with the styling! The interior is stunning, comfortable, and refined. However, the ride could be improved as it can feel a bit bumpy at times. I have had to replace and repair the rims 5 times in 2 years, which is a bit of a shame. Overall, this car has the potential to be an even greater pleasure to drive with some additional engineering thought put into the design of the suspension, steering, and wheels.

Within the past 12 months, I had to take my S90 T8 in for service three times due to the rear suspension collapsing onto the back tires. Unfortunately, it happened for the fourth time this weekend and I had to give the car back to the dealership under the Lemon law. It's really disappointing to have experienced this issue multiple times, especially since it affects the safety of the vehicle.

I rented a S90 T8 from Hertz for a week. Unfortunately, I should have returned it while I was still at the airport garage. The car has already covered 12,700 miles and the front tires have been replaced. The seats are showing signs of wear, with the perforated part looking thin. Additionally, some of the plastic buttons feel flimsy. I was surprised to learn that the wood trim is actually made of wood, as it feels like plastic. There is a constant drone sound in the car, which can be quite annoying, even when the engine is on. After returning from dinner, I have decided to take it back to the local Hertz agency in the morning. This car is too expensive to be annoyed with, especially when I have a BMW at home that is incomparable.
