OnApril 19, 2021I received a letter the parts were available were and for me to contact a Volvo dealer to replace the front driver's airbag.free of charge. I called Volvo Cars to let me know the dealers in Nashville. They recommended Volvo of Cool Springs. I finally got an appointment on November 16,, and had my car towed to this dealer. I picked it up on November 9, with a receipt the front driver airbag Module had been installed. Aftera few days I noticed my SRS was showing"airbag Service Urgent".I resetthe SRS but the message is still showing. I called Volvo Cars and they agreed to tow the car to Volvo of Coolsprings to check the airbag. I picked my car up the clerk tried to explain the problem was with a failed DIM control module/display. The charge would be over $2000. so the receipt showed "customer declined recommendations. My SRS was working fine until they supposedly replaced the airbag. My mechanic looked it over and the airbag is not connected. Volvo refused to pay another dealer to check the airbag. However, Volvo offered to tow my car to Volvo of Nashville on Murfreesboro road , not the orignal dealer. I refused unless they took care of the charges. I now have an a front driver airbag that is not connected. I would have to pay a dealer to find out if the airbag had been replaced. i have been driving without the recall airbag. I am filing this complaint in case of accident and to let you know the airbag recall has not been corrected. You can never talk to a mechanic at Volvo of Cool Springs. I called numerous times and left messages for the mechanic or manager to return my call.

NOW I'M NOT A MECHANIC, BUT BASICALLY THE AIRBAG IS IN TACT BUT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR DIM HAS FAILED. SINCE IT WASN'T THE AIRBAG ITSELF I WASN'T SURE HOW THEY WERE RELATED AND THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE CLUSTER SIGNALS WERE NOT NECESSARILY REACHING THE AIRBAG. AS A MOTHER AND KNOWING VOLVO HAS A LOT OF AIRBAGS I WAS CURIOUS AS TO WHICH ONES WERE AFFECTED AND THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY OF THEM WOULD DEPLOY IN A CRASH. NOW THIS IS A COSTLY PROBLEM $2300 AS WELL AS VERY COMMON AS I SEE IN THE FORUMS. LIKE I SAID, MY CAR IS IN QUITE GOOD CONDITION ASIDE FROM NORMAL MAINTENANCE FOR IT'S AGE, BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THE DIM TO BE NORMAL MAINTENANCE. ADDITIONALLY, BECAUSE OF THE COST AND THE DIFFICULTY OF THIS TYPE OF ISSUE, OWNERS ARE BEING FORCED TO DIY IT THEMSELVES AND SEND THEIR DASHES TO SOME COMPANY IN CANADA. - Summary: Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2001-2006 S80 and 2001-2009 S60 vehicles. The driver's air bag inflator may explode during deployment, due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
- Consequence: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver's air bag, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 29, 2021. Owners may contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo's number for this recall is R10125.

You can drive this car slow or fast, even in bad weather, and it's an absolute joy. You'll always get out of the car with a smile on your face. I've driven this car over 110mph and it changes lanes with exceptional road feel. Sometimes I prefer to take it slow and just enjoy the excellent sound system and living room-like seats. This car handles great in bad weather, which is perfect for all you BMW or rear-wheel lovers.

The features of the car did not meet my expectations. The loud road noise, lack of pre-set radio station buttons, clock and odometer turning off when the key is off, big blind spots, slow door locks, and absence of lock or unlock choice on door control were disappointing. The car has also been in the shop over 10 times for transmission and a/c issues. The seatbelt is uncomfortable and cannot be adjusted. Even the new wipers skip and squeal. Additionally, the rear leg room is limited.

This car is one of my all-time favorites! It's a shame that it has had some issues, such as the Central Control Module failing twice and the clutch master cylinder needing replacement, which wasn't covered under warranty and cost $800. Additionally, there have been some minor electrical problems, such as the power window switches not working, the radio turning on and off randomly, and light bulbs burning out frequently. The headliner also vibrates, which can be a bit annoying at times. However, I would still recommend the 5-speed manual transmission over the automatic. Despite these issues, this car is incredibly fun and comfortable to drive.

Step on the gas pedal and you'll easily overtake many cars. Although the turbo lag and slow shifting 'tiptronic' can be annoying, once the turbo kicks in on a straight line, the car is a force to be reckoned with. The only issue I have is with the handling around corners - the chassis needs to be tuned to handle the car's power. The car's excellent design, rather than a fancy electronic stability system, should be the force behind its handling. The interior is flawless and, in my opinion, the most comfortable and well-designed car on the market.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with our S60, which we purchased back in 2003. Overall, we've been very happy with the car's performance. However, we have noticed some cosmetic issues that could use some improvement. For example, we've had some trouble with the gas cover doors falling off - in fact, we've seen quite a few other Volvo's from the same time period with the same issue. Our mechanic, who is Volvo certified, has mentioned that they replace about 10-15 gas covers per month. Additionally, we've had some trouble with the console door becoming non-functional. Despite these issues, we still love our S60 and would highly recommend it to others. Thanks for listening!

The car was reliable and sturdy, but unfortunately required frequent and expensive repairs. While it did have good mileage and was affordable to insure, it spent a lot of time in the shop due to various issues such as transmission, starting, and electrical problems. Although it was my first Volvo, it will be my last. After owning it for 15 years and maintaining its engine, interior, and body in good condition, it eventually had to be replaced due to persistent issues with the electrical system, transmission, and suspension. I ultimately decided to replace it with a different make and model.

Volvo dealerships are not worth my time. Despite driving the car for 81,000 miles, I have had to deal with numerous issues such as a cracked windshield caused by an acorn, multiple failed light bulbs, a fallen gas door, and a shot oil pan that causes oil leaks. The starter has also been replaced twice, although the service suggests that it may be due to the solenoid valve. Unfortunately, the car is currently sitting in my driveway and will not start, making it difficult to trade in. However, I am confident in my decision to never visit a Volvo dealership again.

This car is definitely a blast to drive, but with 85,000 miles, I've had a few issues. In extreme heat, such as in Las Vegas, the 'wood' interior paneling may peel off. The fuel cap door, as many others have mentioned, may break. Don't worry about fixing it, as it will likely break again. You may need to replace the headlights every few months, so it's a good idea to buy them in bulk. I did have to spend a bit on struts, tires, and brakes, but that was my mistake for not having a mechanic check out the used car before buying it. Even with a new battery, fuel pump, and fuel filter, it may take a few tries to get it started. While the 20 mpg isn't quite what I was hoping for in a sedan, overall I still enjoy driving this car.

At 76,000 miles, my Volvo has experienced some major issues with the front suspension ($1200) and transmission ($4500). While the maintenance costs have been high, I remain confident in my decision to purchase this car. However, I would not consider buying another Volvo in the future.
