I HAVE SAVED THE BROKEN PART AND I ALSO TOOK PHOTOS OF IT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. I'M VERY CONCERNED THAT THIS PART, WHICH IS CRITICAL TO THE SAFE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A SERIOUS DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT. - Summary: I WENT TO SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR FROM A STOP (AT A RED LIGHT,) AND MY SHIFTER FELL OFF IN MY HAND. UPON DISASSEMBLING THE CENTER CONSOLE AT THE LIGHT, I FOUND THAT THE CAST-ALUMINUM SHIFTER ARM HAD BROKEN AT THE INSERTION POINT FOR THE RETENTION PIN. NOT ONLY AM I NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE, BUT IT HAPPENED TO ANOTHER PERSON TODAY (WHOM I'M FORWARDING TO THIS SITE.) MAZDA SAID IT'S NOT UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND BECAUSE I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET TRANSMISSION MOUNT AND A COLD-AIR INTAKE, THEY WON'T MAKE A GOODWILL ADJUSTMENT (IN SPITE OF THE FACT THAT NEITHER OF THOSE THINGS WOULD BREAK IT....) THEY HAVE NO CONCERN OVER THE CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE, REFUSE TO DISCUSS OTHER INCIDENTS AND SPOKE TO ME AS IF THIS IS THE FIRST CAR I'VE OWNED AND MY TIME WOULD BE BETTER SPENT COLORING ON THE BUS. *TR

- Summary: MAZDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2008-2009 MAZDA3 AND MAZDASPEED3 VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JANUARY 7, 2008, THROUGH NOVEMBER 28, 2008. THE GROUND TERMINAL OF THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR MAY HAVE BEEN INADVERTENTLY BENT DURING ASSEMBLY. IF THIS CONDITION EXISTS THEN OVER TIME THE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE OF THE MOTOR CIRCUIT MAY INCREASE UP TO A POINT THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK.
- Consequence: THE LOSS OF WIPER FUNCTION IN ADVERSE WEATHER COULD POTENTIALLY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL GROUND HARNESS ON THE WIPER MOTOR FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE JULY 15, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MAZDA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-222-5500.

This car is amazing! You get so much value for your money. I purchased my MS3 GT used for $18k about 5 months ago and it has exceeded my expectations. The mid-range torque is unbelievable and it handles high-speed corners like a dream. It's also perfect for everyday use. I couldn't stop smiling during the test drive. I've driven GTIs and G35s, but they both felt sluggish compared to the MS3. Some people complain about the shifter being vague, but I haven't had any issues with it. It's easy to find the right gear and I've never had any trouble.

I've had a number of sports cars over the years, including Corvettes, M3s and others. This car, however, is truly exceptional in terms of the cost/benefit equation. For street driving, it can do 95% of what those other cars can do, but at half the price. It never fails to put a big smile on my face each time I drive it, and I can't believe how much performance I'm getting for such a reasonable price. I highly recommend it!

I agree with all the other reviewers that this car is fantastic. It offers great value for money compared to most other cars. The power and handling are superb, and the interior is brilliantly designed (I especially love the HUGE glove box!) and seems to be of higher quality than most sub-35k cars I've seen. The car is just all-around fun to drive, and with the hatch and the fact that it makes its power from the turbocharger, it's practical too! My only issue is with the transmission. The clutch is a bit too delicate and takes some getting used to. 1st gear is only useful for getting the car moving, and the shifting is a bit

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my new car. I purchased it in May of this year and I'm really enjoying it. I upgraded from the Mazda 3 GT to the Turbo version and it's definitely faster. It took me a little while to get used to the torque steer when shifting, but it's been a fun learning experience. One thing I've noticed is that it tends to pull to the left, but it's not a big deal. Overall, I'm really happy with my purchase. The car has 4 doors with a hatch and seats that fold down, which is really convenient. I did have a minor issue with the stereo volume, but the dealership was really helpful and replaced it with a new one. Thanks for listening!

After test driving several cars, including the WRX, GTI, and Civic Si, I found the MazdaSpeed3 to be the best value for my money. The car is incredibly fast, and once you hit 3rd gear, it really takes off. The handling is also amazing. The GT interior is very nice, with form-fitting and comfortable seats, and the Bose sound system is great. The xenon headlights are also fantastic at night. While the fuel economy is not the best, it's still reasonable for a car this fast. I average around 21-22 mpg in the city and 25+ mpg on the highway, which is impressive for a car with this level of performance. Additionally, the car handles well in Colorado winters.
