- Summary: The car has been jerking when you’re driving and sometimes it jerks forward as you’re parking it while it’s in the parked position. Then I’m driving home from work , it’s raining heavy. I get to the Valaro store by my house; I put $40.00 worth of gas in the car after work drove home parked the car the next morning it would not turn over , would not ignite at all I took it to the shop. They said the computer was fried from the rain leaking through the windshield or under the windshield. They said it’s a major problem with this model car. The mechanic said the computer could not be fixed. He sent it to the Volkswagen repair shop it can’t be fixed and to replace it cost thousands of dollars !!! I can provide an estimate of the problems and possible repairs if needed . The mechanic stated it is not worth the cost to fix the car. I did notice that there is a powertrain recall and my mechanic is also stating that the transmission is the jerking problem we’re having.. I really think these should be recalled however I needed to submit my issues and see what you final decision would be on both situations, the powertrain transmission problem and the computer burnout problem thank you so much and hope you’re having a great day

- Summary: The contact owned a 2007 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing electrical problems. The contact stated while driving at 45 MPH, another driver persistently blew the horn at her to inform her that the vehicle had caught fire. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and immediately exited the vehicle. The contact noticed that there was a fire underneath the passenger side of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle burned to the ground and there was a big hole in the pavement. There was no further information provided. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with the assistance of the fire department. A fire department report was filed. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The contact sustained post-traumatic stress disorder as she had lost her only daughter in a vehicle fire in the past. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000.

IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY DAY I DRIVE TO WORK (20 MINUTES ON THE FREEWAY) AND SHOULDN'T BE HAPPENING WITH THIS LOW AMOUNT OF MILES.

THE FIRE SPREAD TO THE INTERIOR ' MELTING IT.

THERE WAS NOTHING VISIBLE OTHER THAN THE STEAM/GAS VAPOR. THE COOLANT LEVEL NEVER MOVES. I WAS ONLY GETTING 15 MILES TO THE GALLON BECAUSE IT WAS LEAKING INTO MY ENGINE. ON 7/13/19 THE ENGINE SEIZED (LOCKED) UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. I WAS DRIVING MY WIFE TO WORK WITH OUR 5 YEAR OLD SON. I HAD JUST TURNED ON THE STREET OF HER WORK GOING 10 MILES AN HOUR & IT FELT LIKE MY CAR JUST DIED. I COULDN'T EVEN GET THE ENGINE TO TURN OVER. I HAD TO GET MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. WHICH IS WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE ENGINE SEIZED. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO TRANSPORTATION NOW. (RECALL FAULTY AIR BAGS MY CAR IS MILES AWAY AT THE REPAIR SHOP, SO I CAN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF THE AIR BAG LIGHT BUT IT TURNED ON ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND HASN'T SHUT OFF. MY CONCERN IS THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT A REPAIR SHOP CAN NOT FIX/ ITS GOING TO BE SO EXPENSIVE THAT I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT. IT HAS FAULTY AIR BAGS THAT CAN JUST GO OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING! SAFETY BAGS ARE A 'MUST HAVE' & IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL/PRODUCE ANY NON SAFE VEHICLE! I SEEN THAT VOLKSWAGEN COMPANY MADE A HAND FULL OF RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE OVER THE LAST 8 YEARS. THE PREVIOUS OWNER KEPT THE CAR IN A GARAGE & STARTED IT DAILY HE JUST NEVER CHECKED FOR RECALLS. PARTS ON THIS CAR ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE 06-09 JETTAS& SPORTWAGONS & HE HAD REPLACED PARTS. I'M UNSURE WHICH ONES WERE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE FALLS UNDER THE CATEGORY OF A VW JETTA SEDAN. I'M HAVING ALL OF THE SAME RECALL ISSUES THAT THE JETTA IS RECALLING FOR. & THE HORN DOES NOT WORK WHEN IT'S PARKED. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 6 recalls for different components of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta.
- Manufacturer: Tenneco Automotive
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:MASTER CYLINDER
- Summary: Tenneco Automotive (Tenneco) is recalling certain Beck/Arnley Master Cylinders, part number 072-9831, sold as aftermarket or replacement parts for 2004-2018 Volkswagen Jetta, and 2012-2019 Volkswagen Beetle vehicles. The fluid seal crimp on the master cylinder may be insufficient, causing brake fluid to leak or the cylinder to come apart.
- Consequence: If there is a brake fluid leak, it can reduce braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Beck/Arnley will notify the distributors that sold the master cylinders and will work with the distributors to notify the end users. Affected master cylinders will be exchanged for a new master cylinder (part number 072-9990), free of charge. The recall began October 30, 2020. Owners may contact Tenneco customer service at 1-800-625-9319.

- Summary: The Gates Corporation (Gates) is recalling certain aftermarket Tru-Flow Water Pumps, part number TFW 41127, sold at certain NAPA Auto Parts and/or installed by automotive service technicians after November 1, 2013 (and manufactured August 2013 through October 2013) that have a black-colored pulley/sprocket or do not have 'US9377' stamped on the water pump housing. These service replacement parts were sold for use in model year 1999-2005 Audi A4, 2000-2006 Audi TT, 1998-2005 Volkswagen Beetle, 1999-2006 Golf, 1999-2008 and 2011-2013 Volkswagen Jetta, and 2000-2005 Volkswagen Passat. In the affected water pumps, the pulley or sprocket that turns the timing belt may develop microfractures causing the timing belt to fail.
- Consequence: A failure of the timing belt may cause the engine to shut down, potentially increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Gates will notify owners, and dealers will replace the water pump, free of charge. The recall began during May 2014. Owners may contact The Gates Corporation at 1-303-744-1911.

- Consequence: IF CHAFING OCCURS, THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FUEL LEAK TO DEVELOP. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND IF NECESSARY REPLACE THE UNDERHOOD FUEL LINE. ADDITIONALLY, DEPENDING ON THE VEHICLE MODEL, DEALERS WILL EITHER REMOVE THE PLASTIC TAB FROM THE WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR, OR INSPECT THE POSITION OF THE FASTENING CLAMP AND ADJUST THE RELATED FASTENING CLAMP INTO THE CORRECT POSITION. SOME SCREWS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TORQUED PROPERLY DURING ASSEMBLY AND COULD LOOSEN OVER TIME, CAUSING A KNOCKING SOUND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE DRIVESHAFT SCREWS COULD LOOSEN TO THE POINT WHERE THE DRIVESHAFT DETACHES FROM THE GEARBOX.
- Consequence: IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE DETACHED DRIVESHAFT COULD CAUSE DAMAGE THE GEARBOX HOUSING. A DAMAGE GEARBOX HOUSING COULD LEAK GEARBOX OIL ONTO THE STREET AND CREATE A RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND OTHER MOTORISTS.

It's zippy, roomy, and comfortable for long drives. Plus, it heats up in no time, making it perfect for snowy trips. Another great feature is that it can fit 3 full bicycles in the rear. This is my dad's car. I drive it all the time, but I also drive my mom's 2007 Rabbit, which I prefer. The Jetta doesn't stop or accelerate like the Rabbit, and the steering is almost as good but not quite. Overall, I think it's a good car, but not great.

This is my second Jetta. While I still have a soft spot for the old body style, I absolutely love the new Jetta's interior and the extra space it offers. The main reason I decided to purchase another Jetta was because of their excellent safety record. I was recently involved in a head-on collision while driving a Jeep Liberty, so safety is a top priority for me.

I looked at a lot of cars and decided that the Jetta Wolfsburg Edition was the one for me. It has plenty of punch, a quality interior, and all the right extras. I didn't think I could get something so solid for what I was looking to spend. I absolutely love my VW.

I really love my new Jetta! It's been great so far, and I added a small Bazooka to enhance the music experience in the car. Compared to other Japanese cars I test drove, it feels like a tank. The salesman even hung himself on the door for 5 seconds to show me how well-built it was, and the door still closed perfectly! He joked, 'Don't try this on a Honda.' The Tiptronic automatic transmission and sports mode give me a pseudo-manual feel of a sporty driving experience, which is really cool. The rigid suspension helps with this too. After test driving several makes and models, I knew the Jetta was the perfect car for me.

Overall, the car is alright. Unfortunately, I'm one of the unlucky few who have experienced brake problems. I had to replace the rear brakes and rotors at 9,849 miles, and I'm still fighting to get it done under warranty. It's worth noting that the brake sensor only monitors the front brakes, so you may not realize your rear brakes need replacing until it's too late.

I purchased this car with high hopes, but unfortunately, I have encountered some issues. When driving for longer distances and during the winter months, I find it difficult to get comfortable due to the seating position. Additionally, the defroster does not heat the bottom part of the front window, which can lead to snow and ice buildup under the wipers. The transmission also produces a noticeable whine, which can be mistaken for police sirens. Furthermore, the gas mileage is not as good as I had hoped, and it falls short of the EPA ratings. Despite these issues, I am hopeful that I can find solutions to make my driving experience more enjoyable.

I recently upgraded my car from an '01 Wolfsburg Edition to the new '07 model. The engine is solid and has enough juice, although it does whine a bit at low speeds. While the lack of a Turbo takes some of the 'fun factor' out of it, it probably makes for a more reliable ride. The styling has grown on me a lot since I first saw it - I used to think it looked just like a Corolla, but now I think it looks a bit more distinguished, especially in black. The car has lots of thoughtful extras, including convincing leatherette, a moonroof, a 10-speaker stereo, and heated seats, all for under $20,000 with a good warranty. I compared it to other models like the Altima (great but more expensive), Civic/Accord, Camry, and Fusion, and this was the clear winner.
