2010 Infiniti G37 problems
The Infiniti G Line is a series of compact executive cars manufactured and marketed by Infiniti, a luxury division of Nissan, for the 1991–1996 and 1999–2016 model years — across four generations.
The first two generations of the Infiniti G (P10 and P11) were sedans based on the Nissan Primera. Beginning with its third generation (V35), the Infiniti G have been rebadged versions of the Nissan Skyline line of sedans and coupes that were exported to the United States and Canada. The fourth generation (V36) introduced the hardtop coupe convertible. The Nissan FM platform, used with the third and fourth generations (V35 and V36) of the Infiniti G, also underpins the Nissan 370Z and has shared components with the Infiniti M, Infiniti EX, and Infiniti FX.
Infiniti established a new naming convention beginning with the 2014 model year; all passenger cars are designated by the letter "Q," while sport-utility model names begin with "QX." The Infiniti G was to have been replaced by the Infiniti Q50, but the G37 was revived as the Q40 beginning with the 2015 model year.

- Expensive Repairs: Owners have mentioned that the Infiniti G37 2010 can be expensive to fix, requiring visits to specific car shops for diagnosis and repairs. This aspect can add to the overall cost of ownership.
- Visibility Issues: The 2010 Infiniti G37 has a large front end, which some owners find can make it challenging to see certain things while driving. This visibility concern is something to consider for those looking to purchase this model.
- Potential Silicon Build-Up: In some cases, owners have reported finding silicon inside the fuel lines, which could lead to performance issues like stuttering during acceleration and at lower RPMs. Addressing this issue may involve flushing the fuel lines and rails to improve the car's performance.
- Valve Cover Gasket and Spark Plug Tube Seal Leaks: There have been instances where oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals have been observed. Replacing these gaskets and seals can help prevent oil leaks and maintain the engine's performance.

What is the main problem with INFINITI G37?
With an annual repair cost of $540, the Infiniti G37 has lower maintenance fees than most luxury midsize cars. Some top Infiniti G37 problems include a faulty A/C system, a vibrating brake pedal, and malfunctioning air bag sensors.
Is a 2010 G37 reliable?
Very reliable, fast, and fun to drive. This is a real sports car.
Does INFINITI G37 have transmission problems?
If you don't routinely and consistently change your fluids at least every 30,000 miles or so, you may find that your INFINITI G37 transmission will swiftly slip. Check your car's owner's manual for more advice on the specific mileage intervals in which your transmission needs the fluid changed.
What is the best year for INFINITI G37?
I'd say the 2011 G37. The coupe and convertible models are well designed two door cars with great performance and handling similar to a BMW M3. These models were aimed at drivers looking for a mature car with a sporty touch. The coupe has a lower, wider stance and gets more curve lines than its predecessor.

AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-02-01
- VIN: JN1CV6APXAM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: Passenger side airbag error code is displayed on my dash. It is error code B1018 occupant sensor malfunction.
STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-11-27
- VIN: JN1CV6AP7AM
- Components: STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: The firewall drain grommets for the sunroof drain line have needed to be replaced three times over the past 5 years. This is a well known design defect. Many Infiniti owners have complained about rain water ruining the interior foot wells on both the driver and front passenger areas AND causing damage to electronics inside the car. The design flaw issue is very expensive to repair, and to add insult to injury, the costly repair does NOT last for more than a couple of years. These vehicles should have a recall issued, which is the only real way to get the Infiniti car manufacturer's attention. Otherwise, vehicles will continue to be sold with this known defect. Damaged electronics are dangerous because they are known fire and safety hazards. Infiniti needs to be held accountable.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-10-19
- VIN: JN1CV6FE5AM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: (UNKNOWN)There is a major problem with the dashboard cracking and peeling. This has been going on for a while now and it just keep getting worse. I have checked on line and I see where this is not an isolated problem. I don't understand why infiniti has not done a major recall by now. (UNKNOWN )The second problem with the infiniti is the battery going down. I am not sure why or for what reason the battery keep going down even if you drive it. This is also a problem that has been going on and it is not an isolated problem either. I have to keep getting battery boost every since we purchased this vehicle. I know infiniti has to know by now that this is a problem. This a major safety risk to me and others who maybe stranded late at night.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-10
- VIN: JN1CV6AP3AM
- Components: AIR BAGS

SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-04
- VIN: JN1CV6AR1AM
- Components: SUSPENSION
- Summary: Inspection of vehicle exhibits extreme front subframe crossmember deterioration where condensation from air conditioning leaks onto and sits on crossmember. Afftected unit shows severe corrosion only on one side. This appears to be a very common issue surrounding vehicle model generation. Can lead to the front right control arm becoming unsupported and leading to loss of control of vehicle and fatal highway accident. Please investigate weather this issue is a safety concern from an engineering issue and requires corrective action from the manufacturer.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-13
- VIN: JN1CV6FE9AM
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: The contact owns a 2010 Infiniti G37. The contact stated while driving into the garage at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly. AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-03-01
- VIN: JN1CV6FE2AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: Passenger side airbag sensor has failed - this is a serious threat to human life in case of an accident and I'm pretty sure this is illegal. I purchased the car March 2021 from a dealer in San Jose, and this did not show on the carfax report, nor did the dealer inform me of this defect. BaseD on my research this is a common problem with other G37's of the same year and into 2011. Infiniti of Beaverton, OR has quoted $7,000.00 to repair which is a little less than half the cost of the car's value. INFINITI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS IT IS A SERIOUS DEFECT AND IS A LIFE THREATENING SAFETY ISSUE!
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-04-01
- VIN: JN1CV6FE4AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED, CAUSING THE SYSTEM TO BE INOPERATIVE. BASED ON RESEARCH, THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHICH WAS ADDRESSED ON SOME NISSAN/INFINITI MODELS, BUT NOT THE G37 CONVERTIBLE. THE COST TO REPAIR IS PROHIBITIVE AT $9000.
STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-02-01
- VIN: JN1CV6FE5AM
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: INFINIT HAS ISSUES WITH THEIR CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM. THEY RUN A METAL TO PLASTIC GEAR THAT STRIPS AND FAILS. THIS CAUSES THE TOP TO SOMETIMES STOP MID CYCLE AND THROW AN ERROR CODE. THEN THE OWNER IS UNABLE TO SECURE THE TOP. I HAD TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER WITH THE TOP IN MID POSITION, NOT SAFE. FRANKLY NOR IS IT TO SAFE TO TOW IN THAT POSITION. IN MY CASE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAT ONCE. IF ONE GOOGLES "INFINITI CONVERTIBLE FLAP FAILURE" YOU WILL SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE. INFINITI HASN'T REWORKED THE PARTS (CAR WAS CANCELLED) OR COVERED THE REPAIRS WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART. BETTER YET THESE REPAIRS ARE 2K PER OCCURRENCE TO RESOLVE. AND IN MY CASE FAIL EVERY OTHER YEAR.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-01-27
- VIN: JN1CV6FE6AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: FRONT PASSENGER SEAT OCCUPANCY CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (OCS) FAULT: B1018-00. THIS MEANS THAT PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DISABLED ALONG WITH WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH AND CONSOLE. CAR HAS ONLY 35K AND GARAGE KEPT AND DEALER MAINTAINED. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON MANY INFINITI / NISSAN MODELS THAT HAVE AN OFFICIAL RECALL, BUT NOT ON THE 2010 G37 FOR SOME REASON EVEN THOUGH IT USES THE SAME SENSOR AS OTHER MODELS WHICH DO HAVE A RECALL. INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THEY SEE A LOT OF THIS ISSUE AND THE ONLY WAY TO RESTORE PASSENGER SAFETY IS TO REPLACE THE SEAT WHICH UPWARDS OF $6900. EVEN IF I WANTED TO REPLACE THE SEAT, I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT SEATS OR INTERNAL PARTS AVAILABLE SO I'M ON MY OWN! DUE TO THIS COMMON DESIGN FLAW IN INFINITI / NISSAN CARS THAT SHARE THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE, THIS MODEL SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE SAME RECALL.THE OTHER MODELS HAVE. MY VEHICLE USES THE SAME EXACT PARTS AS THE RECALLED ONES, HAS THE SAME ISSUES, AND YET BECAUSE OF SMALLER NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS BECAUSE THERE ARE JUST LESS OF THEM ON THE ROAD, THEY ARE EXCLUDED FROM THE SAME RECALL. THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-06-01
- VIN: JN1CV6FE6AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR HAS FAILED, SO THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. DASH WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED WHILE IN OPERATION. SPOKE TO INFINITI AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND THEY CONFIRMED NO RECALL CURRENTLY. SPOKE TO THE LOCAL INFINITI DEALER WHO STATES THEY MUST DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND CHARGE FOR THE SERVICE. SEAT SENSOR HAS FAILED AND REPAIR INCLUDES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH COSTS AROUND $9K. THE CURRENT TRADE IN VALUE OF THE CAR IS $5-8K. NO ONE CAN SAFELY RIDE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS SAFETY ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED BY INFINITI.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-08-02
- VIN: JN1CV6FE0AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: FAULTY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN, AND HAVING TO PAY $6000 TO FIX IT IS JUST RIDICULOUS.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-06-05
- VIN: JN1CV6FE2AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: MY 2010 INFINITI G37 CONVERTIBLE'S AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING A MONTH OR SO AGO. I RECENTLY BROUGHT THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY CHARGED ME $149 TO INFORM ME THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG UNIT IN THE SEAT HAD A BAD SENSOR/RELAY AND THE COST TO REPLACE IT IS $7,500. YOU CANNOT JUST REPLACE THE RELAY, BUT RATHER HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT UNIT. IN MOST OTHER CARS, IT IS A FEW HUNDRED DOLLAR FIX AND ONLY REQUIRES REPLACING THE SENSOR/RELAY. I CALLED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND INFORMED THEM OF THIS AND THEY SAID THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THEIR AIRBAG UNITS AND THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, OTHER THAN PAYING $7,500 TO REPLACE THE UNIT. THE PART NUMBER IS "87300-JJ84A - CUSHION". THIS IS THE SECOND INFINITI VEHICLE THAT I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAGS. I HAD A 2008 INFINITI G35 SEDAN WHICH WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE A CAR HIT ME FROM BEHIND AT 40-50 MILES PER HOUR (I WAS STOPPED) AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WILL FILE A SEPARATE COMPLAINT REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. ARE THERE ANY RECALLS ON INFINITI AIRBAGS? *TR
VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2015-05-20
- VIN: JN1CV6EK8AM
- Components: VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: IN 2013 I BEGAN NOTICED THE DASH BECOMING TACKY AND DIFFICULT TO CLEAN. BY 2015, THE DASH BEGAN TO POOL AND REFLECT SUNLIGHT WHILE DAY DRIVING. SHORTLY AFTER THE POOLING STARTED, THE DASH BEGAN CRACKING AND BECAME SOFT, WITH DAMAGE OCCURRING WHEN TOUCHED.
STRUCTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-07-15
- VIN: JN1CV6AP1AM
- Components: STRUCTURE
- Summary: THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING. THIS CREATES ASHINE THAT CAUSES A REFLECTION OFF THE WINDSHIELD THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO SEE DURING CERTAIN DAYLIGHT CONDITIONS. I HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE MADE WITH SUCH A DEFECT. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO STOP THIS MELTING FROM HAPPENING & FROM DOING INTERNET RESEARCH IT APPEAR MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THEIR INFINITI'S. THE DASHBOARD IS ALL STICKY, AND ANYTHING PUT ON IT GETS STUCK LIKE AN ADHESIVE GLUE IS ON IT. I WOULD LIKE INFINITI TO REPLACE MY DASHBOARD WITH A LKQ DASHBOARD AS A RECALL.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-03-06
- VIN: JN1CV6FE6AM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: TOP OF DASH BECOMES EXTREMELY SHINY AND STICKY AFTER 1 HOUR OF SUNLIGHT THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD CASING UNWANTED GLARE IN WINDSCREEN. TEMPORARILY CAN BE CLEANED WITH SOAP AND WATER AND RETURNS TO DULL NON STICKY APPEARANCE, BUT ONLY TEMPORARY. NEXT TIME CAR IS IN THE SUN FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OF DRIVING OR PARKING, THE THE SHININESS AND STICKINESS RETURNS CAUSING MASSIVE REFLECTIONS IN THE WINDSHIELD. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE IF CAR IS STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. NO PRODUCT HAS BEEN USED ON THE DASHBOARD OTHER THAN SOAP AND WATER AS NEEDED. SUSPECT THE UV PROTECTION OR PLASTICS ARE FAILING. CAR ONLY HAS 35K MILES AND IS GARAGE KEPT. THERE WAS A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND LATER CLASS ACTION SUITE FOR OLDER NISSANS AND INFINITI, BUT THE PROBLEM DOESN'T LOOKED TO BE SOLVED IN NEWER CARS.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-11-26
- VIN: JN1CV6EK0AM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: THE DASH ON MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SLOWLY CRACKING AND FALLING APART FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS. MORE AND MORE FRACTURES ARE OCCURRING ON THE VEHICLE AS IT SITS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WAS RECALLED ON MY 2004 LEXUS RX330 A FEW YEARS AGO FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM. THIS IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY INFINITI OR THE DASH MANUFACTURER.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-11-08
- VIN: JN1CV6APXAM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: AIRBAG LIGHT SHOWS AND BLINKS AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIPS WANT OVER $6000 FOR PART. AIRBAG SYSTEM WILL NOT ACTIVATE UNLESS NEW CONTROL SYSTEM IS INSTALLED. DASH LIGHT BLINKS WHENEVER VEHICLE IS ON. HAVE REST MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE BLINKING COMINGS BACK.
VISIBILITY/WIPER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-01-01
- VIN: JN1CV6AP5AM
- Components: VISIBILITY/WIPER
- Summary: THE DASHBOARD IS MELTING AND CAUSES REFLECTIONS AT CERTAIN ANGLES CAUSING DISTORTION IN THE VISION. A PART OF THE WIND SHIELD JUST SHOWS THE REFLECTION OF THE DASHBOARD HAMPERING ROAD VISION
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-10-01
- VIN: JN1CV6FE6AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: AT APPROXIMATELY 58000 MILES, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER TAKING IT TO A DEALER, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A $7000+ REPAIR IS NEEDED. INTERNET SEARCHES SHOWS THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT INFINITI IS AWARE OF. IN FACT, THEY HAVE RECALLED SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME DESIGN BUT NOT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE. EITHER THE DESIGN IS INCORRECT OR IT'S NOT. THIS IS A FLAW THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-08-01
- VIN: JN1CV6EK8AM
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. I HAVE A 2010 INFINITI G37 WITH 89000 MILES, NEVER HAD ANY ACCIDENT BEFORE. RECENTLY THE AIR BAG LIGHT STARTED FLASHING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I TOOK IT TO THE INFINITI DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT WAS BAD, AND WOULD COST SEVERAL THOUSANDS DOLLAR TO FIX. AFTER DOING RESEARCH IT SUGGESTS THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM THAT MANY INFINITI/NISSAN OWNERS ARE CURRENTLY HAVE. NISSAN HAS RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM FOR VERY SELECTED VEHICLE BUT I THINK A WIDER RANGE OF RECALL SHOULD BE DONE BY INFINITI/NISSAN.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-08-13
- VIN: JN1CV6AP6AM
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: THE DADH IS CRAKED ANYWERE AROUND THE AIR CONDITIONER VENTILATION SISTEM AROUND THE RADIO. AND CONTROL SISTEMS.
