The Volkswagen CC, initially sold as the Volkswagen Passat CC, is a car built by German marque Volkswagen from 2008 to 2016. It is a variant of the Volkswagen Passat that trades headroom and cargo space for a coupé-like profile and sweeping roofline. The CC debuted in January 2008, at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and was discontinued after the 2017 model year.

Volkswagen said the name CC stands for Comfort Coupe, recognizing its combination of a coupe-like profile with four rather than two doors. THE CAR JERKED AS IF MY SPARK PLUGS WERE HAVING ISSUES. HAVE HAD TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS FREQUENTLY COMPARED TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE AIR/CAM SENSOR (AS A RECOMMENDATION FROM THE DEALERSHIP) THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING SLUGGISH BUT NORMAL PRIOR TO IT GETTING SERVICED. THE CAR WAS READY FOR PICK UP AND ENGINE LIGHT WAS CLEARED. CAR WAS DRIVEN ABOUT 35MI FROM DEALERSHIP TO PLACE OF RESIDENCE. CAR PERFORMED NORMAL. NEXT DAY WENT TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START. IT DID START LONG ENOUGH THAT I COULD USE MY OWN CODE READER THE VEHICLE HAD 15 ERRORS ACCORDING TO THE READER. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR A MONTH BEFORE I COULD TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS SERVICED. VW IS NOW SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. CAMSHAFT IS WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING AT . ANOTHER POSSIBILITY VW EXPLAINS IS MASSIVE ENGINE FAILURE.

WHEN I RETURNED TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED A STREAM OF GASOLINE COMING OUT OF THE TOP OF THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP (BOSCH MFG: 06H127025N SKU: 3649). THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE RETAINING CLIP ON THESE FUEL PUMPS AT THE TOP OF THE CONNECTOR ARE KNOWN TO BE WEAK AND GIVE OUT CAUSING LARGE FUEL LEAKS. I'VE NOTICED WHILE RESEARCHING REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT SOME MANUFACTURERS USE BOLTS RATHER THAN A THIN RETAINER CLIP THAT GIVES OUT. AFTER FINDING THIS LEAK I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE GAS CONTINUES TO SPEW OUT EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS OFF, AND AT TIMES STOPS THEN STARTS AGAIN. WHICH COULD HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE RECALL FOR THE CONTROL MODULE THAT PLUGS INTO THIS PUMP & STATES IT COULD CONTINUOUSLY RUN, WHICH IS BAD ENOUGH BUT THEN ADD IN THAT THE PUMP THAT IS ALWAYS RUNNING IS KNOWN TO LEAK FUEL, VERY DANGEROUS.

I MERGED OVER TOWARD THE SHOULDER AND ENDING UP HITTING SOME TYPE OF WATER RUN OFF DIP THAT CAUSED MY CAR TO BOUNCE UP AND BLOW OUT MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE. THE BLOWOUT WAS WHAT HELPED ME SLOW MY CAR DOWN AND BRING IT TO A STOP. THAT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF MY CAR. AFTER STOPPING I TRIED CHECKING IF THE CAR WOULD TURN ON AND IT HAD NO RESPONSE. I THEN HAD IT TOWED AWAY. THAT WAS IN 2016 AND TO THIS DAY THE CAR HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET FIXED.

NO CHUGGING. THE ENGINE JUST STOPPED. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS ENOUGH TRAFFIC FOR THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO SLOW DOWN TO AVOID ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON WHILE DESPERATELY TRYING TO GET THE CAR TO TURN BACK ON. THANKFULLY IT DID WITHIN A MINUTE OR TWO GIVING ME JUST ENOUGH TIME TO CUT ACROSS THE HIGHWAY TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THAT DEALERSHIP TURNED ME AWAY AND TOLD ME I SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO DRIVE ABOUT 10 MORE MILES BEFORE MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY REGULAR DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY BELIEVE IT MAY BE THE FUEL PUMP. SINCE I HAD THE RECALL COMPLETED PRIOR, I AM VERY FEARFUL THAT I WON'T BE SO LUCKY NEXT TIME. Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.
  • Consequence: In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could explode with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.
  • Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's frontal air bag inflator with an alternative inflator, free of charge. The recall began March 16, 2018. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 Volkswagen CC, and Passat, 2010-2013 Eos, 2011-2014 Golf, GTI, Jetta, and Tiguan, and 2012-2014 Jetta Sportwagen vehicles. In the affected vehicles, debris may contaminate the air bag clock spring, a spiral wound, flat cable that keeps the air bag powered while the steering wheel is being turned. This contamination may tear the cable and result in a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag.
  • Consequence: A loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag will prevent the air bag from deploying in the event of a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of injury.
  • Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will install a protective cover over the steering wheel clock spring if the air bag light is off. If the airbag light is on and the steering wheel clock spring requires replacement, dealers will install a new steering wheel clock spring. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-822-8987.

It has been a frustrating experience, and I have decided not to purchase a VW again. I am currently exploring legal options and have reached out to Good Morning America and ABC News for assistance.     Hey! This car is really cool! It has all the power any sane person could want via the 2.0 turbo. However, it seems that VW is not taking enough responsibility for their design flaws. The transmission hesitates on take off and the folks at VW just brush it off as something they are researching and taking note of. This isn't good business, but I'm sure they can do better. I would expect more from a company like VW. They have already shown their colors after being busted on mpg and emission issues. Hey VW, let's clean up your act and put a few more dollars into what you're building. People will pay more for solid performing cars, but as a corporation, you shouldn't expect second chances when the consumer is getting cheated out of a reasonable expectation.

Unfortunately, we have spent a lot of money on repairs and have not been able to find a solution to the problem. As a result, we are concerned about the safety of our family.     What a stunning car! It's beautiful both inside and out. I've had many people slow down just to see the badge and admire it. The car looks and handles like a dream, easily comparable to cars that cost 20-30K more. The turbo-4 has exceptional power, which is quite impressive for a 4-cylinder engine. It hugs the road and handles like a charm, making driving a pleasure. I must admit, I'm a bit worried about getting a speeding ticket because it's so smooth and quick that it glides to 80 mph before you know it.

    Bought it last summer with plenty of driving in my future. It turns heads. It's fun to drive, and the sport setting on the transmission is perfect. I've driven this car all over the country and loved every mile. It handles like a dream over desert highways and curvy mountain roads. I upgraded from my second Jetta and I couldn't be happier. I love this car as much as I loved my IS300.
