2015 Toyota Venza problems
The Toyota Venza is a five-passenger mid-size crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Toyota primarily for the North American market, beginning with its introduction in 2008 and now in its second generation — with a hiatus for model years 2018–2019.
The first-generation Venza was based on the XV40 series Camry platform and marketed between 2008 and 2017 — and shared the platform with the AL10 series Lexus RX. The second-generation model is a rebadged Japanese-market XU80 series Harrier and has been sold since September 2020.
The name "Venza" is a mix of "Venture" and "Monza."

Common 2015 Toyota Venza problems
The Toyota Venza, a stylish five-seater crossover with a spacious interior and substantial wheels, has been a popular choice among car buyers since its debut in 2009. However, like any vehicle, the Toyota Venza has its share of common problems. This article will focus on the 2015 Toyota Venza and its reported issues based on complaints from owners.
- Brake Faults: Brake issues have been reported by some 2015 Toyota Venza owners. These problems include premature brake wear and the need to pump the brakes to stop the vehicle. These issues might be due to defective sensors, dirty air filters, worn-out spark plugs, or inadequate engine maintenance.
- Windshield Cracking and Visibility Problems: Many Venza owners have reported issues with windshield cracking, which can be caused by impact damage, extreme temperature changes, or low-quality glass. This problem can lead to reduced visibility and may require costly repairs.
- Transmission Issues: Transmission problems are common in the 2015 Toyota Venza, with reported issues including delayed shifting, grinding during acceleration, unstable ride quality, weird noises, a burning smell coming from the engine bay, and outright failure. These issues might be due to faulty sensors or other internal transmission problems and may require costly repairs.
- Engine Troubles: Engine problems in the 2015 Toyota Venza include excessive oil consumption, engine stalling and misfires, and loss of motive power. These issues might be due to defective sensors, dirty air filters, worn-out spark plugs, or inadequate engine maintenance. Regular maintenance and servicing can help avoid many of these issues.
- Faulty A/C System: Issues with the air conditioning system in the 2015 Toyota Venza include diminished airflow, hot air blowing from the vents, and unsettling odors coming from the vents. These problems can be due to overcharged or low refrigerant, clogged cabin air filters, dirty condenser or evaporator coils, compressor malfunction, and an underperforming blower motor.
In conclusion, while the 2015 Toyota Venza is a stylish and spacious crossover, it is not without its share of common problems. These issues include interior accessories malfunctions, brake faults, windshield cracking and visibility problems, transmission issues, engine troubles, and faulty A/C systems. Regular maintenance and servicing can help avoid many of these issues, but it is essential to be aware of these problems when considering purchasing a 2015 Toyota Venza.

Its put me and my family at risk because its the main reason the car is driving. No it has not been reproduced. AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-11-15
- VIN: 4T3BK3BB6FU
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: Last December my airbag light came on. I took it to Minot Chrysler Center and Toyota Center and they told me the wires for the airbag under the drivers seat were frayed and needed to be replaced. They also had to replace the harness because they said that too was not working. I had it fixed. Three weeks ago the light went off I made an appointment right away and today they told me it was the same issue and had to replace the wires on the passenger side. I called Toyota and they told me it was up to the discretion of the tech. I called the tech at the Chrysler Center and she told me that they couldn’t do that because they would have to file a report and then deal with Toyota. I was not happy with that response and I said oh so you are telling me that’s too much work and I am on my own. I just ended up paying for it twice now. The drivers side was $594.00 and today’s charges were $485.00. This is a safety issue and should be addressed
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-10-24
- Crash: 1
- VIN: 4T3ZA3BB1FU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: On 10/24/22, I was stopped in traffic at the lower end of a hill. This was in Arlington, TX on Lamar St. near Collins traveling east. Although I was using my brakes as we were at a red light, the car started accelerating forward. It would not stop with further brake usage or trying to put the car into park position. I hit the car in front of me gently. Not seeing any damage, and because the other driver did not feel the impact, I did not report the incident to the insurance company. I do not know if it was a brake problem or other problem. I recently purchased the car after my Toyota Camry was totaled at the end of July 2022. However, that car had a similar problem in another accident that was reported to my Allstate agent.
SEATS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2022-08-10
- VIN: 4T3BA3BB4FU
- Components: SEATS
- Summary: Extremely uncomfortable drivers side and passenger headrests, causing my head and neck to be pushed forward. This causes me back and neck pain, pushing you in a position to have chronic neck/back pain and very bad posture. I’ve seen many complaints online, including many newer makes and models. It sounds like the new feature is supposed to reduce whiplash, in the chance of an accident, but if people take their headrests off or flip them backwards then it’s a bad design. I am 5 feet 5 inches tall, and I’ve heard of this affecting others of a similar height, please consider redesigning

- Crash: 1
- VIN: 4T3BA3BB3FU
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: ON AUGUST 18TH, I WAS DRIVING MY HUSBAND'S 2015 TOYOTA VENZA. I ORDINARILY DO NOT DRIVE IT AS THE VEHICLE HAS A SURGING FORWARD PROBLEM. WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOD OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SURGES FORWARD WHICH ONE CAN COMPENSATE BY QUICKLY HITTING THE BRAKE PEDAL. MY HUSBAND HAS GOTTEN USED TO THE CAR DOING THIS SO IT DOES NOT BOTHER HIM. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY, I WAS DRIVING ALONG A 2-LANE ROAD ON A SOMEWHAT MAIN ROAD WITH SOME BUSINESSES ON EITHER SIDE AND I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH. WE WERE APPROACHING A POPULAR ICE CREAM PLAZA WHEN I SAW THE VEHICLES UP AHEAD STOPPING AS ONE OF THE CARS WAS WAITING TO CROSS OVER TO THE ICE CREAM SHOP. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE CAR SURGED FORWARD AT A FASTER SPEED. I IMMEDIATELY PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND THE BRAKE DID NOTHING SO I PUSHED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR STILL DID NOTHING AND WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. I FINALLY PUSHED AS HARD AS I COULD WITH NO SUCCESS. THEN THE WHEELS LOCKED AND THE CAR SLID FORWARD AND I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TOYOTA TOOK THE CAR AFTER I COMPLAINED AND EXAMINED IT AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. BUT WHEN WE GOT THE CAR BACK MY HUSBAND WAS DOING AN ERRAND AND APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION AND PUT HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW BUT THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. HE LIFTED HIS FOOT OFF THE PEDAL AND REAPPLIED AND THE CAR SLOWED AND STOPPED.

This was going to be my next choice in a motor car, but unfortunately, the decision-makers thought otherwise. Despite its impressive 90% rating in the 4-5 stars, it was not given the chance to shine. It's a shame that sometimes the bottom line takes precedence over quality.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Passengers are always impressed with the luxurious look and interior. Your friends with Lexus even thought it looked like theirs!

It's great! You'll have plenty of leg room and it's easy to get in and out. Plus, there are so many features like email and Bluetooth. I absolutely love it!

An SUV and not a wagon. I bought it used with over 91000 miles on it and haven't had any problems in a year's time. The turn ratio could be better and a bigger gas tank would be good, but other than those two issues, there are no problems. It took a while to learn the infotainment system, but through trial and error, everything is great. I wouldn't want the 4 cylinder. It's very roomy!

We recently test drove a 2013 Venza Limited AWD with 24k miles. While the LED daytime running lights and hid headlights looked great, we found the old style tail lights to be a bit lacking. The seats were wide but unfortunately lacked support, making it difficult to get comfortable. However, the 3.5L engine had plenty of power and was relatively quiet. Despite the 20It sounds like you've owned some great cars over the years, but this one really stands out as the highest quality. It's impressive that it surpasses even your previous Lexus, Acuras, and Infiniti, as well as the many Toyotas and Hondas you've owned since the 1980s.

I recently owned a 2015 Toyota Venza XLE for two weeks. Overall, it's a great vehicle with plenty of power, and it has a spacious cabin and cargo area, which is everything I was looking for. During my test drive, I found the seats to be very comfortable, and I loved the car right away. However, during my first long trip in the car, I found it difficult to get comfortable. I was constantly adjusting the seat to try and find a comfortable position, but the seat seemed to get harder the longer I drove, and my lower back was killing me. I'm 5 foot 8 inches tall and about 170 lbs, and the seats in the Venza are wide and not bolstered much, so for me, it was like sitting in an oversized recliner. To be fair, this is probably more of a personal issue based on body type than a manufacturing problem. My only advice would be to test drive the car for more than 15 minutes and make sure you don't have the same experience. By comparison, I traded the Venza back to the dealer for a 2016 Rav4, and I'm much happier with the comfort. I would also like to point out that Toyota could have done a better job with the choice of dash materials and the way the different parts of the dash fit together. The materials are an odd combination of hard textured plastics and do not align well with edges not matching up where they meet. I hope that the 2021 model dashes are more similar to that of the Highlander or even the Rav4. I did not own the car long enough to comment much further on the car's performance, other than to say that the cabin was rather quiet, and the ride was smooth and not overly rough. During my time with the Venza, I was able to get 28 MPG on the highway. If you feel comfortable and pain-free while driving this car, then I highly recommend purchasing a good used Venza. Truthfully, I was sad to give it up.

Hey there! Just wanted to share my experience with the 2015 Toyota Venza. Unfortunately, I had a terrible accident due to what I believe was unintended acceleration. I would recommend considering other options. Take care!
Kadin Blick 2024-07-23
Our family has owned a Toyota Venza since 2011 and we have found it to be a reliable and easy-to-drive car with minimum maintenance requirements. While we have experienced some drawbacks such as poorer mileage than advertised and a somewhat rough ride, we highly recommend that anyone considering purchasing a Venza ensure that it has a backup camera. Additionally, we have encountered a manufacturing design flaw that has allowed rodents to enter the car through the motor area and the bottom of the windshield. While this has been a constant battle, we have found that the car's good resale or trade-in value and excellent reliability make it a worthwhile investment.

Just wanted to give you an update on my car. Unfortunately, after owning it for 18 months and putting 34,000 miles on it, I had to trade it in due to constant repairs. The tire noise was pretty bad at highway speeds and the interior felt a bit cheap. I also had some issues with the power window and the engine light came on a few times. Despite these setbacks, I learned a lot from this experience and am excited to move on to my new car. Thanks for listening! At 97000 miles, the alternator died and I fixed it myself. It would have cost $900 due to the amount of labor, but I spent $235 on a good alternator and 8 hours of labor. I didn't know I had to disassemble the front of the car when I started, but almost all engine compartment repairs involve disassembly of other components to get to what you are working on. Around 100,000 miles, the front passenger bearing hub failed, and a tie rod was bad too. It cost $780 to fix, but the tie rod they put in was slightly off in size, so I could never get the car aligned correctly. Due to the miles I put on weekly, this caused badly worn tires on the front, so we rotated them, but now they were even louder than before. It's recommended to get both tie rods done even if only one is bad. At 110,000 miles, a strut blew and dumped oil all over the brand new brakes, so it started shaking again. The repair for the struts found another wheel bearing bad, rear driver's side, so all together, it cost $1300. It's better to buy entire strut assemblies, spring, mounts everything, for less than a shop will charge you for just the strut cartridge. Buy your own parts and find a shop that will install them. Lastly, the Venza has a known issue with the electric power steering. It starts as a clicking noise on bumps, but eventually turns into a constant clicking. In my case, it was loud enough I could hear it even with the radio on. That is a 7-hour repair requiring the removal of most of the dash on the driver's side and costs over $3000, $1100 just for the part. I owned this car for 18 months and put 34,000 miles on it. It was a $40,000 car when new. The total repairs at a shop would have been around $5000 if I had not done some of it myself, plus the $3000 plus steering repair that needed to be done.Add to that, oil changes, and new tires, and in 18 months, this car would cost close to $9400. (Tires alone were $870.) However, I did like the car overall. It was comfortable, roomy, had lots of cargo space, and looked good. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a bit of a lemon.
