Toyota Venza problems
The Toyota Venza is a five-passenger mid-size crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Toyota primarily for the North American market, beginning with its introduction in 2008 and now in its second generation — with a hiatus for model years 2018–2019.
The first-generation Venza was based on the XV40 series Camry platform and marketed between 2008 and 2017 — and shared the platform with the AL10 series Lexus RX. The second-generation model is a rebadged Japanese-market XU80 series Harrier and has been sold since September 2020.
The name "Venza" is a mix of "Venture" and "Monza."

What is the disadvantage of Venza?
Minimal Cargo Capacity
Unfortunately, there isn't too much cargo capacity in the Toyota Venza. It's much smaller than most of the competitors in its class, which proves to be a problem. You'll only find 28.8 cubic feet of storage behind the rear seat.

- Summary: My wife owns this Toyota Venza. On October 9, 2024, I took the vehicle to the dealership for maintenance and all regular checkups passed. No sensor lights nor problem lights were on during the incident. On October 16, 2024 my wife was parking in a spot to pick up the mail in our community's mailbox. She pressed the brake and tried to park the vehicle when suddenly the motor accelerated over the parking lines on its own to a small hill continuously. My wife tried to press the brake multiple times with no success and the motor continued accelerating on its own. My wife turned the steering wheel to the right to avoid running into the hill or flipping the vehicle over. Once turned, the vehicle continued accelerating crossing over a neighborhood street and finally crashing into a neighbor's wall. Once it crashed the wall, all air bags were deployed and the vehicle rebounded back into the street where my wife was eventually able to shift it into parking. Once parked, the vehicle wouldn't start or move at all. Thankfully, there were no fatalities but my wife crashed into a wall and had to be taken to the hospital to be treated for the bruises in her legs and body from the air bag impact. Additionally, our community is gated and thankfully there is little traffic but this problem in a main road or highway could easily injure or kill people. We reported the accident to the local police and filed a report with them. We also notified insurance of the crash and have started a repair claim but the vehicle has not been inspected for any damages or problems. We have video recording of the incident which we will use for insurance and can provide as part of this complaint.

Okay, I couldn't resist the Spanish language title because of my Spanish lessons. But it does accurately capture how I feel about driving this car. Let's go! There is a lot to love about this vehicle so here goes: The ride is amazing! This car drives like a luxury vehicle and the interior cabin is quiet and very comfortable. I've had numerous back injuries over the past twenty years, and I can say without hesitation that this car is the MOST COMFORTABLE car I have ever driven in my life! You can adjust the driver seat to the position that suits you best, making driving this car a breeze, whether you're around town or on the highway. The technology in this car is impressive! Toyota has been notorious as a laggard where car tech is concerned, but I have to give them high marks for catching up to their competitors. The Venza comes Alexa enabled and you can easily train the car to recognize your voice if you prefer to give commands in that manner. Otherwise, the button controls are fairly similar to Toyota vehicles from past years. The gas mileage is fantastic! Given that we are in the midst of gas price hikes beyond what anyone could imagine, you'll be happy to know that so far, I'm getting about 50-60 miles per gallon, both on the highway and in the city. Of course, I practice good driving habits and do not have a heavy foot, so that makes a difference. Still, it was gratifying to know I only had to spend $19 to fill half a tank. The expert reviews on trunk capacity and back seat space are pretty accurate. This is not what I would characterize as a family SUV, as trunk space is limited. So, if you have kids, this isn't a great choice, especially if you do family getaways. One last thing.Whether you decide to purchase this car or another Toyota, please don't let negative App Store reviews of the Toyota App influence your decision. The app works as intended and has a lot of great features, such as locking and unlocking, as well as remote start. It's important to note that some users who left one-star reviews may not be familiar with using a smartphone.

I was originally interested in the Chrysler Pacifica, so I was disappointed to learn that it was no longer being produced. For 11 years, I drove a Subaru Outback and I absolutely adored it. I was considering purchasing another Outback, a Venza, or a Pacifica. Although I loved the look of the Venza, I was disappointed with the interior of the 2009 model. I kept hoping that it would improve, but after reading many reviews, I found that the rough ride was a common complaint. However, I personally find the stiff ride to be enjoyable. While I miss my AWD, the FWD is working quite well. The fuel economy is not excellent, but it is comparable to my Subaru's mileage. I can't help but tell everyone how much I love my Venza!

Wonderful driving, especially for people with bad backs. In my opinion, it drives like a Lexus RX. Although the brakes can be a bit annoying at times, the car is great for a person with back problems. It's easy to get into and out of, and the heated seats are wonderful. However, it can be difficult to see some controls as the steering wheel blocks the view. I would recommend keeping a flashlight in the car for night use to see some controls that are lower than the steering wheel.

The Toyota Venza XLE is a fantastic car that caters to a wide range of consumers. It offers a comfortable, spacious, and sporty driving experience all in one package! The 3.5 V6 engine is powerful and quick on its wheels. The interior is of high quality and provides great comfort for both short and long trips. Overall, the Toyota Venza is a great choice for anyone looking for the perfect car.

I recently switched from a BMW X3 m40i to the new Toyota Venza. While the BMW was fun to drive, I had constant issues with the brakes, electronics, and engine shutdowns. I decided to switch to Toyota due to their reputation for reliability, and my family and friends can vouch for it. The new Venza exceeded my expectations during the test drive, with great fuel economy, safety features, and a comfortable ride. The car has enough power to get you moving and pass others when needed. The interior is well-appointed and comfortable, although it could use more storage space and a better-designed center stack. The infotainment screen is button-less, but it's very intuitive to use and access what's needed. The car's gas mileage is incredible, and the ride is very smooth and compliant. The steering and brakes are excellent, and the brakes are better than other hybrid brakes I've tried. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision to switch to the Toyota Venza. The seats are really comfortable and the driving position is excellent. Although there's sufficient power, it could always use more. There is some wind noise at highway speeds, but it's not too bad. The rear turn signals sit in the lower bottom portion of the car, vs higher-up, and the headlights could be brighter, but these are minor gripes for what I feel is a great overall car.

The 4 cyl option did not meet my expectations. Despite having driven it for 10K miles, I found the handling to be poor and the car constantly out of alignment. The engine lacked power and had a coarse sound, which was louder than my Odyssey. Additionally, the gas mileage was poor. However, I am confident that I will find a better car for my needs after conducting thorough test drives.

I have had the car for only 4 months, and unfortunately, I have had to visit the dealer 4 times to address the issue of the alarm going off unexpectedly. Despite the initial disbelief from the dealer, they eventually experienced the issue themselves. The constant alarm has made it difficult to leave the car unattended and has been a nuisance to my neighbors. However, I am confident that the dealer will find a solution to this problem soon.

The best things about this car are its awesome interior design and the V6 engine's power. The Bluetooth connects quickly and the stereo sound is great. The car's shape is classy and reminiscent of an old 1930s Mercury. The back seats can accommodate three people comfortably, although the middle passenger may have to deal with a foot hump. However, there are some downsides to this car. The steering columns are made of plastic and tend to break often, costing $2500 each time. The interior is also very squeaky, and the dashboard is not as tight as it could be. The cabin noise is high, especially on cement highways. The brakes and rotors wear out quickly due to the massive 20-inch tires. I have already spent $4200 on this car, and it's only a few months old. If you're a perfectionist, I would recommend buying a Highlander or a RAV4 instead. Trust me on this.

It's unfortunate to hear that your Venza has developed a hole in the floor carpet on the driver's side, especially with only 32,000 miles on it. It's understandable to be concerned about the quality of materials used by Toyota. Despite purchasing an extended warranty, the dealer and Toyota have stated that it is considered a wear item. Hopefully, the rest of the vehicle will hold up better for you.

I have experienced several issues with my Venza AWD over the past 24 months, including rattles in the dash/console, interior light malfunctions, and delayed upshifting of the automatic transmission. Despite Toyota's attempts to fix the issues through reflashing, the problems have persisted. Additionally, I have been disappointed with the fuel economy, which has averaged 15mpg with a 50/50 mix of in-town and interstate driving. I am currently considering my options regarding the vehicle.
