- Summary: I had a 2011 Toyota Venza. Notice oil leakage. Took for oil and filter change and a check. Nothing was found, however four months later car began rattling and driving rough - I took to dealership and was told the Water Pump needed to be replaced. I have since found out that Toyota has had a many issues with the VVT-i Oil line failures AND Water Pump failures- Both that lead to a Failed Engine!! They fixed the water pump, however 45days later, my vehicles just stopped running as I was driving down the road. I checked oil - it was empty! Car would not start. I had car towed to dealer. I was then told 3days later that I needed a New Engine! That the Compressors were bad. In my research I found that when the compressor is starting to go out- the vehicle begins to run rough! This is what was told to the Dealership. I believe they failed to properly diagnosed my vehicle. And they wanted me to pay $9400 to Repair!!!! $5500 for a used Engine!! If Toyota knows they have the issue with the oil line... they should have checked for this... and checked the Engine when they KNOW THAT THE WATER PUMP FAILURE EFFECTS THE ENGINE!!!!!! I AM NOT THE MECHANIC!! The service guy at the dealership had his head down the entire time ... he knows they screwed up!! Of Course taking NO OWNERSHIP. I asked him why wouldn't they check for Engine compression when I told them it was driving rough - he says they just don't check for that!!! NOT MY FAULT.... This is NOT what I expect from a Toyota- has anyone else had this issues??? Vehicle had 168,000 miles. I had a Toyota Landcruiser with well over 220,000 miles and NEVER an engine issue!

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the driver’s side harness needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 13V014000 (Air Bags, Seat). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 137,945.

I HIT A LARGE TREE THAT WAS LUCKILY AT THE END OF THE PARKING SPOT. THE TREE IS WHAT STOPPED THE CAR. WHEN THE CAR STOPPED, I LOOKED AND SAW WAS IN DRIVE. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IN REVERSE AND BACK UP AND PARK SAFELY. I SHUT THE CAR OFF IMMEDIATELY.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 6 recalls for different components of the 2011 Toyota Venza.
- Manufacturer: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing
- Components: AIR BAGS:SIDE/WINDOW:CURTAIN
- Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2009-2015 Venza vehicles. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) wiring may become damaged with regular use of the driver-side door.
- Consequence: Damaged wires may cause the air bag sensor to become inoperable, preventing the deployment of the side and curtain air bags on the driver side and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the driver-side front door wire harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 19, 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 21TB01/21TA01.

- Summary: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Prius and Corolla, 2009-2011 Venza, 2006-2010 Avalon, 2007-2010 FJ Cruiser, 2005-2011 Sienna and Sequoia, 2006-2011 Tacoma 4x2 and 4x4, Camry, Highlander, Tundra 4x2 and 4x4, and 2007-2011 Rav4 and 4Runner. The affected vehicles may experience compression of the seat cushion which may damage the seat heater wiring.
- Consequence: Damage to the seat heater wiring could cause the wires to short, increasing the risk of the seat burning and causing personal injury to the occupant.
- Remedy: SET will notify owners, and dealers will disconnect the heaters with copper strand heating elements and refund the purchase price of the seat heater accessory, free of charge. The recall is expected to began in January 2015. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226.

- Summary: Southeast Toyota is recalling certain model year 2008 and 2010-2013 Toyota Tundra, 2010-2012 Rav4, 2012 Toyota Sequoia, 2010-2011 Toyota Corolla, 2010-2011 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid, 2010-2013 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid, 2010-2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2011 Toyota Land Cruiser, 2010-2013 Toyota Venza, 2010-2011 Toyota 4Runner, 2010-2013 Toyota Tacoma, 2011-2012 Toyota Sienna, 2012 Toyota Prius, 2013 Scion FR-S, 2011 Scion XD, 2011 Scion XB, and 2012 Scion TC vehicles. These vehicles were sold with labels that were outside the allowable one percent of accuracy of actual weight added. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) Number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
- Consequence: An inaccurate label could lead to owners overloading their vehicles and tires. An overloaded vehicle can result in a tire failure which may result in a vehicle crash, personal injury, or property damage.
- Remedy: Southeast Toyota will notify owners and provide a corrected label with instructions concerning its installation. A small group of the affected vehicles will need additonal remedies which are still being developed. The recall began on May 28, 2013. Owners may contact Southeast Toyota at 1-800-301-6859.

- Summary: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain models interspersed through model years 2009 through 2013 as follows: model year 2009-2012 Tacoma, 4Runner, Camry, Camry Hybrid, Prius, and RAV4; model year 2009-2010 Avalon, FJ Cruiser, and Highlander Hybrid; model year 2010-2013 model year Corolla, Sienna and Tundra; model year 2009-2013 Highlander and Venza; model year 2012 Prius V; and model year 2010-2012 Sequoia. During modification by SET to include accessories such as leather seat covers, seat heaters or headrest DVD systems, these vehicles may not have had the passenger seat occupant sensing system calibration tested. Without passing the calibration test, the occupant sensing system may not operate as designed.
- Consequence: If the front passenger seat occupant sensing system is out of calibration, the front passenger airbags may not deploy or they may deploy inappropriately for the passenger's size and position. This could increase the risk of personal injury during the event of a vehicle crash necessitating airbag deployment.
- Remedy: Southeast Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will test the sensitivity of the occupant detection sensors, and recalibrate them as necessary. The recall began on March 21, 2013. Owners may contact Southeast Toyota at 1-800-301-6859.

- Summary: TOYOTA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009 CAMRY VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1, 2008, THROUGH FEBRUARY 28, 2009, AND MODEL YEAR 2009-2011 VENZA VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM OCTOBER 20, 2008, THROUGH JANUARY 4, 2011. DURING ASSEMBLY OF THE CONTACT-TYPE STOP LAMP SWITCH, SILICONE GREASE MAY HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE OF THE SWITCH WHICH COULD CAUSE CONTACT RESISTANCE. IF THIS OCCURS, WARNING LAMPS COULD ILLUMINATE, A NO START CONDITION COULD RESULT, THE SHIFT LEVER MAY NOT SHIFT FROM THE PARK POSITION, OR THE VEHICLES BRAKE LIGHTS COULD BECOME INOPERATIVE.

- Remedy: TOYOTA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE DRIVE SHAFT, AND, IF THE DRIVE SHAFT IS IDENTIFIED AS ONE THAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CORRECTLY MANUFACTURED, IT WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE AT NO CHARGE. Congratulations on your new Venza! It's great to hear that you're enjoying it so much. With 24 mpg overall and an impressive 28 mpg on the highway at 70 mph, it sounds like you're getting some great fuel efficiency. The navigation system and rear view camera sound like great features, and it's always a plus to have heated seats. It's also good to hear that you haven't experienced any wind noise, and that the tire noise was dampened with a rubber mat. The Yokohama Parada Spec-X 420 has a treadwear rating of 194 per set of 4, and with tax in Texas, it costs $915 when installed at Discount Tire. While Goodyear offers a cheaper tire at $125 each, it has a lower tread rating and a more aggressive tread that can result in more road noise. Although the Goodyear option can be installed for under $600, it would be inferior to the Yokohamas. It's important to keep in mind that this car is a more comfortable alternative to an SUV, and therefore, the cost of the tires will usually be almost as much, if not more.

I'm so excited to share that my husband and I just traded in my 2006 Toyota Solara Convertible for a brand new 2011 Venza that was still on the lot! This amazing vehicle has every option, including AWD, and I absolutely love it! It's incredibly easy to drive and has so much cargo room, which is a huge upgrade from our previous 2-door convertible. The backup camera and navigation are fantastic features, and I'm sure the AWD will come in handy during the upcoming winter months. Ours is a V6 and it really picks up speed on the interstate. The best part is that we feel like we got an amazing deal because they needed to move it before the 2013 models arrived!

As a mother of two very active children, I always have a sporting goods store in the back of my car. When I was looking for a new vehicle, I wanted something with the room of an SUV, good mileage, and the feel of a car. I must say, this car is everything I could ask for and more! The back seat is so spacious that it will grow with my children into and well beyond their teen years. The seats are comfortable, the ride is smooth, and the panoramic roof has been a big hit with my family. I get the drive and zippiness of a car, just like I wanted, and the room of a full-size SUV. I don't understand why all the commercials are geared towards the older crowd. I absolutely love this car; it's very sleek!

We bought our 2011 Venza brand new and have had it for six and a half years, during which we put 68K miles on it. We did experience some issues with the alarm going off for no reason, but after 6-7 repair visits (one overnight), the problem was finally resolved. Occasionally, the steering makes a whining or creaking sound. Recently, we had some trouble with the sun visors on both the driver's and passenger's side, as they wouldn't stay up or down and obstructed our view. Unfortunately, the CD player no longer works and a CD is stuck in the unit, which means we have to replace the whole audio system. Additionally, the paint on the front bumper is coming off and the clear plastic covers on the headlights have fogged over. While the mileage is not quite what Toyota claimed, we still get about 21-23 on the highway. Although the sticker price was $40k, we were disappointed with the overall performance of the vehicle. However, we recently traded it in for a new Mazda and received $12,500 for it, despite the car being in excellent condition, always serviced, no accidents, non-smoker, etc. Overall, this car was not the best we've ever owned in 50 years, but we're glad to have moved on. Lastly, we did experience some minor issues such as the seam on the driver's leather seat opening, the clips on the engine air filter being broken, and the glove compartment being misaligned.

I love the utility and spaciousness inside the vehicle, but I have had to replace the door panels at only 30k miles because they didn't hold up. Additionally, my visor fell apart. While the inside of the vehicle is made of plastic, the seats have held up well thanks to the really nice buttery leather I had added after purchase.

Hey there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2011 Demo Toyota Venza that I bought back in January 2012. It came with all the options and I was excited to have it, thinking it would be an economical choice. One thing I really appreciated was that all the scheduled maintenance was included in my financing, which was a plus. However, I did notice a few negatives. We had previously owned a GMC Acadia 2009, which was a much longer and heavier vehicle, but had better gas mileage than the Venza. In Houston, where I live, gas rates are around $3+- and it costs me about $50-$60 to fill up the tank. The dash at full reads about 300 miles to empty, which is less than my Optima's almost $500 and my Acadia's 450. Another downside is the lack of room in the hatch area, which is something I'm already considering trading it in for. Overall, I just wanted to share my experience and hope it helps you make an informed decision. Let me know if you have any questions!

You have a great looking car with lots of power, but it's a shame that the ergonomics are poor and the materials inside are cheap. Additionally, the seats are very uncomfortable and visibility is limited. The rear camera is not very reliable and the brakes are quite weak. Lastly, the fuel mileage could be better.
