- Summary: The vehicle was at a stoplight. Once the light turned green, the driver stepped on the gas. All of a sudden the car would not move, all the warning lights came on, and we could smell a burning smell. The car was towed to the dealership where it was purchased. They discovered a rubber hose leading to the transmission had somehow gotten cut and all the transmission fluid leaked out. This caused a total transmission failure according to the dealer. It must have happened almost instantaneously as there was no warning prior to this. This hose is clearly critical to the operation of the vehicle and safety of the occupants, yet is totally exposed to the underside of the car. If the failure occurred while the vehicle was moving, it could have been a serious safety issue. It seems like a simple steel braided hose or a metal tube should have been used on such a critical part.

Subaru has apparently known about this for years and they haven’t remedied it, in addition the offer a protection plan for windshield when you buy it new, but they’ll only replace 2 of them, and every subsequent windshield is subject to the same problem

- Summary: I picked up my vehicle that was made to order from the factory on 2/18/22. I drove the car for 12 days and found the steering to be over sensitive. The steering wheel felt disconnected from the car. I returned the car to the dealer from which it was purchased. The service advisor test drove the car and documented on the invoice that the car felt like” it wanders”. He also verbally stated on the phone that “he had a hard time keeping it in lane.” He contributed the problem to the tires being “over inflated “. He informed me that he “let some air out of the tires and that the problem seemed to resolve itself.Three weeks later I returned to the same dealership with the same issue.This time they reported back to me that the car drove like normal for their technicians. I believe they are simply saying that there is nothing wrong with the car simply because they need their loner back.

- Summary: I was driving on a three-lane parkway commuting to work, and the weather was clear. I was the only person in the vehicle. I left just after 7:40AM I had been driving for about 40 minutes. I had the cruise control ready to be set as I had turned it on briefly earlier in the drive, but it was not turned on at the time. When the cruise control button is pushed and "ready," lane keeping assistance turns on. The dashboard suddenly alerted saying the "Eyesight Driver Assist" was not working. Seconds later it said "check owner's manual" and then "check engine." Within a few seconds, the car began decelerating quickly. I got over to the right lane, turned on my hazard lights, and then pulled off on the shoulder where the car came to a full stop. I turned the car off and could see smoke coming from under the hood of the car. Within about 10 or 20 seconds, I climbed over the center console and out of the passenger door on the right and began backing quickly away from the car while watching it. The car then started on fire under the hood, and I called 911 immediately. My call to 911 was at 8:26AM. This whole incident--from driving to the start of the fire--occurred within about 1 minute or at most 2 minutes total. The car is a 2022 Subaru Impreza and was brand new. It had no prior issues or maintenance completed on the vehicle and no maintenance was due. I had the car for less than two months, and it had just over 1000 miles on it. I had never seen any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms on the car before. I had driven the car home from work the previous day and got home around 7:00PM. This was the first time I had seen any of the warning signs on the dashboard indicated above. The police department arrived within a few minutes and then the fire department arrived a few minutes after that. The fire spread to the entire vehicle and it was towed. The insurance company (GEICO) and Subaru indicated they will be investigating and inspecting the vehicle.

- Summary: Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2022 Impreza and Outback vehicles. The incorrect paint clearcoat may have been applied, which can cause the windshield to be insufficiently bonded to the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 212, "Windshield Mounting."
- Consequence: An insufficiently bonded windshield can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Subaru will offer owners a vehicle exchange or repurchase, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 21, 2022. Owners may contact Subaru's customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WRH-22.

No complaints! This car is great both around town and on the highway. It also gets good mileage. I would definitely lease it again and am even considering buying it at the end of the lease.

I started with an Impreza Premium, which didn't have many bells and whistles. Unfortunately, the AC wasn't working and despite taking it in 3 times, it wasn't fixed. However, I decided to switch to a Sport model and it was a huge improvement. I think Subaru should focus on maintaining quality control on all their models, not just the higher-end ones. Overall, I would give 4 stars due to my experience, but I would give 5 stars to the car I have now. As for my current situation, I haven't been driving much due to working from home and only going out for essential shopping. Therefore, I don't have much to say about it.

The car has a vertical screen that looks good in photos, but unfortunately, it is poorly made both in terms of software and hardware. Although CarPlay would improve it, it tends to disconnect regularly no matter what I do. Personally, I would prefer an aftermarket double-din unit with a larger CarPlay screen instead of the giant vertical screen that only uses 40% for CarPlay, which is smaller than the external one would be.

We considered several options including Ford, GM, Honda, Mazda, Hyundai, and Subaru. However, what made us choose a Subaru Impreza was our salesman, Jim Sapienza. He truly made a difference! Jim attentively listened to all of our needs and concerns, and we never felt pressured. It was clear that he was there to help us, not himself. This being our first Subaru, we can confidently say that it won't be our last, all thanks to Jim.

The 2021 Impreza sport hatchback is a fantastic car! I'm currently averaging 30 mpg in the city, which is great. While some people complain about the power, I find that it accelerates just fine and the ride is incredibly smooth. I had the opportunity to test drive this vehicle for a week from the dealer. In my opinion, this 5-door hatchback could be labeled as a crossover due to its ride quality, which is more similar to an Outback than an Impreza hatch. The suspension is quite soft and the steering is vague, which may not be to everyone's liking. When I think of a sporty hatchback, I tend to think of the Volkswagen GTI hatch or Mazda 3 hatch, which have stiffer suspension and steering, making them feel like little go-karts. However, it's important to note that everyone has different preferences when it comes to driving. Additionally, the Impreza sedan has a different feel to the hatchback. The motor may feel underpowered to some, with around 180hp, and the acceleration may not be as smooth as some would like. It's also worth noting that the car can be quite noisy. Overall, while this car may not be the right fit for me, it's important to test drive it yourself and see if it meets your needs and preferences.

I had the problem with the driver's window checked at least six times. Despite this, the window would only go three quarters of the way up and then go back down again. It was frustrating, and I often had to try closing it five times before it would stay up. However, the last time I had it checked, they replaced the track with a new and improved one. It has been working well for at least six months now. While I was initially dissatisfied with my Subaru, I am now pleased with the outcome of the repair.
