I TURNED TOWARD THE BACK OF CAR TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF THE BACK SEAT. THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS STILL OPEN ALL THE WAY. Hey there! I just wanted to share my experience with Acura. I've owned four RLs and I absolutely love them! With the increased output and wheels/tire package upgrade, I feel like I'm driving a top-of-the-line luxury car. In my opinion, buying a Mercedes E/S class or similar high-price brands is just for show. Acura is the real deal!

I recently test drove a range of luxury cars including the new Jag, BMW 5 series, Infiniti M, Audi A6 & A5, and Lexus LS and GS. Initially, I wasn't planning on purchasing a car this year as none of them seemed worth the investment or an upgrade from my current Lexus LS 430. However, when I visited Acura to look at the 2009 MDX for my wife, I stumbled upon the RL and was pleasantly surprised. The pictures of the 09 RL did not do it justice. After test driving it, I fell in love with the handling, no-lag speed and pick-up, and luxurious interior with all the gadgets tastefully done. I must admit, as a car snob, I never even considered an Acura, but I was wrong. Now, I am happier than ever with my purchase, which has more features than the BMW 535xi and saved me over $10,000.

For someone who has never owned a decent car, the RL would probably be a great choice. However, I have had a lot of reliability issues with it, which has made me decide to not buy an Acura again. Despite its slow speed, the handling is pretty good and it's fun to drive. Overall, I would give it a 7 out of 10.

I purchased the RL Tech package and unfortunately experienced significant quality issues on the second day. There were rattling noises coming from various parts of the car and within 6 weeks of ownership, several parts had to be replaced due to major manufacturing defects. The windshield and headliners had to be taken apart as well. While I am disappointed with the experience, I am confident that Honda corporate will take the necessary steps to address these issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
